This one is everything that the first one was and more. Some of the stories from this one are similar to the original, sure, but these stories felt more complete and emotional. I even teared up at some parts! If you enjoyed the original, I can assure you that this one is worth your time. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 4/5 — Final Customers Story Glitch *2021-04-13* So if you exit out of the app on their final dialogue before their revelations and go back in, you can end up skipping the end scenes entirely and soft-locking. You can’t review the ending despite the label saying completed and the game doesn’t register it towards the final ending and credits. Only way left is to restart. I enjoyed how everyone interacts in the day only to gripe about it at the cart, but it is good for an airplane commute game. ### 4/5 — A little different from the first *2018-11-18* I usually really love the games from this developer because the gameplay is easy and I’m usually surprised by the stories for each character. The last oden game had a few plot twists and although getting the ending for a character may have spoiled the endings for others, the story still had plenty to offer. This game plays similarly in style with it being really easy and money not really being an issue, but the endings for characters are unlocked once you finish another character who is their counterpart. However, I was really disappointed in the stories. There were no real twists, except for the oden man, and it was predictable. The stories could be heart warming for other players out there but I left feeling a bit disappointed in the plot. It’s just lacking in gripping emotion like the first one and other games by the developer. I see that they developed a 3rd game that has yet to release in English. I hope it’s better than this one. ### 4/5 — A cozy game *2018-08-23, version 2.1.0* It’s a cozy game to check every now and then. Not super amazing, but nice. ### 4/5 — Better Than the First Version *2018-04-11* I actually liked this version better than the first Oden Heartwarming Tale. I do recommend that anyone play both, just to get the full story line. This one just seemed a little more creative. The ending was really sweet and felt like the story wrapped up perfectly. There was even a reason for the old man to travel back in time to Edo. I did miss reading each character's plot line individually. In this version, you have to unlock TWO character's story lines before reading the ending. A lot of people thought this was a glitch; it's not. This is why you can see the character is marked as completed but can't read the ending yet. This isn't true for all the characters, but the majority are like this. I also liked the new background music; it's very relaxing. ### 4/5 — Still good *2018-02-23* It’s still a good game, an enjoyable tale... but it isn’t quite the same. To get the ending tales, you have to finish all the connected people in the ending. Instead of everyone having their own ending, many are in pairs. There are more ads than the last one, which can be frustrating... but the way they used it to try and hurry your game along is nice. Especially towards the end when you only need to finish 1 or 2 people. Overall I think it’s worth playing, it’s not like it’ll take too much of your time. ### 4/5 — Very excited to play, but minor problem *2017-07-22* I was really excited to see this was finally translated in English so I could play it! I really enjoyed the first one. It's a very relaxed game and that's what I like about it. I've already completed 3 character stories, but I only gotten the little story after the character's story is completed for one character, the Scribe, who I finished second. It says "ending" when I check her profile, but not for the other two that I have completed. The ads on this one can be a bit intrusive though, and I would gladly pay a one time fee to NOT have them, which most of their other games have. I like all of their games enough that I am happy to give them my support even though I don’t like in app purchases, I just don’t love that this entry doesn’t give you the choice.
