## What is Odo?

On 6 April 2026 the HMRC approved mileage rate rose from 45p to 55p per mile — the first change since 2011. If your spreadsheet still says 45p, you are short-changing yourself 10p on every one of your first 10,000 business miles.

Odo runs the current rates, records your drives without being asked, and turns them into a figure you can actually put on a tax return.

THE CLAIM, WORKED OUT PROPERLY
• Current HMRC rates: 55p for the first 10,000 business miles, 25p after that
• The 10,000-mile threshold is cumulative across the tax year, and Odo tracks where you are against it
• Motorcycle and bicycle rates, plus the 5p passenger supplement
• A tax year that starts on 6 April, not 1 January — tiers reset when HMRC says they do
• Every rate is editable, so when the figures change you are never stuck waiting on an update

READY FOR YOUR TAX RETURN
• CSV export with every business trip: date, route, reason, distance and the rate actually applied
• Totals row and the rate source printed at the bottom, so your accountant can check the working
• Unclassified trips are flagged rather than quietly counted

ALSO SET UP FOR AUSTRALIA AND IRELAND
• ATO cents per kilometre at 91c with the 5,000km cap
• Switch country in Settings — distances are stored properly, so changing between miles and kilometres never rewrites your history
