I’ve cut Google out of my life over the last few years so this has been a god send, but the IOS version is rough. Constant login errors, having to reload the app just to stay signed in. App starting but failing to load anything (including following and home pages) And freezing when using full screen mode. I’m using an iPhone 17 pro max so I can’t see it being my phone that is the issue. ### 2/5 — Censorship *2026-03-24, version 0.7.3* A well needed competitor to YouTube and overall great app thoroughly hampered by Apple by forcing the app to censor and not allow certain search queries. As it stands, the mobile app lacks much of the functionality available on the website. Legit can be a great platform if you improve on your algorithm and video compression. I’ve been keeping my eye on you guys and seen how you changed recently. It may be a great site to go to for 2026. For me playback always stop/start, going back or forward is choppy too. Spend too much time waiting. Too many steps to close a video. Always goes to small mode at bottom of screen and can close from there. Should be able to just close the video in a single step. Can’t access lists or add to lists from this app, desktop only. Brutal. There is a bunch of other stuff that is clunky about it too. Sometimes, the search results would disappear and the screen returns a "no results" message right after I scroll further down to let it load more results. As for the video display, for some reason, there is no option for switching video quality on the mobile app. The app also crashes frequently and often unpredictably, which makes any deeper searching almost impossible. If the above issues can be fixed, I trust that this app will surpass YouTube in its current state by miles. ### 2/5 — where's the search? This is trash *2025-08-17, version 0.6.14* I'm all about freedom of content but it's hardly useful if i can only search from the website. The Discover btn seems to do nothing. Also I'm a voiceover user. Was hoping this was better than YT mobile app, but sadly not so. Push notifications alert you to new content from your favorite channels. Cons: When viewing livestream chat, it doesn’t show the full username for the person leaving the comment most of the time. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it shows a partial name. Sometimes it doesn’t show the name at all. It also doesn’t show anyone’s profile picture in livestream chats or pictures posted in livestream chats. Animated gifs used for profile pictures and video thumbnails do not play. The great animations that play on the website when you fire or slime a video don’t play (replaced by a boring static color change). Lastly, none of Odysee’s custom emojis are viewable or visible on the app. In short, it needs a complete redesign. It’s been lacking since it was launched years ago. No Censorship! *2025-08-19, version 0.6.14* Odysee is hands down the best alternative to YouTube I’ve found. You can really tell the creators are constantly improving the platform—it keeps getting smoother and more reliable with every update. The functionality and GUI are honestly preferable to YouTube in a lot of ways; it feels cleaner and more intuitive. The only feature I wish was different is the way comments work across multiple channels under the same user. Right now, if I comment with one channel by accident, it won’t let me comment again on that same video with another channel. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but it’d be great to see more flexibility there. (It’s annoying) Also: I wish there was a way we could send little bits of crypto to our favourite creators on the App conveniently. And even send out a percent of your crypto wallet for a duration and frequency you decide.
