However, the App is a bit clunky. It will sometimes stop playing in the background. And I just recently discovered that it will not easily work in offline mode even though I have several sounds downloaded. It kept crashing when I tried to play one of my downloaded sounds. Not great when you’re in an airplane. While I don’t regret subscribing for one year, I don’t think I will renew for a second year. It’s been several months since new sounds were added (well, some white noise static sounds were added but those aren’t why I signed up). But the soundscapes that do exist are lovely. I think if I could pay a flat fee for unlimited access to my favorites AND choose my own player — kind of like buying a song on iTunes —I would do that. ### 3/5 — Paywalled *2025-03-31, version 2.4.2* All but three soundscapes are paywalled behind subscription. There are a total of 111 soundscapes on this app. I tried the 3 day free trial because I liked the free ones and they have some interesting looking ones, but I was charged immediately. After going through the rest of the soundscapes, they are nice, but for the price, I’d sooner find free ambient sounds on Spotify. And yes I pay for a Spotify subscription but get a lot more for the same price. ### 3/5 — No internet Connection *2025-03-25, version 2.4.1* This review is more for the app than the soundscapes. The No internet Connection pops up all the time. I do have internet connection. Vast majority of the time I can’t stream any sound without the message. So downloading is the only option. Also downloads fail all the time. And sometimes even when attempting to play downloaded soundscapes it will still pop the message which stops the sound and dumps you back into the app. There’s also been numerous times I set the sound and the timer and go to bed. 3 minutes later for no reason it stops playing. This could happen 3 times in 15 minutes. Then I gotta get up go to my phone and start it up again. All that being said these soundscapes are remarkable. I’ve been startled numerous times while working thinking there’s a bird or an animal somewhere in my vicinity. I’d also request that there be volume control. The ability to play a soundscape while listing to a podcast is amazing. But sometimes the podcast is to loud and there’s no way to adjust one or the other. Love the app and hope there’s an update in the near future. Thanks! I am a subscriber and I’ll give it the year. I really want to like the app. But it’s got some rough edges. ### 4/5 — AirPlay not working *2025-02-12, version 2.4.1* When I choose AirPlay for my tv it finest play as if it’s buffering. ### 3/5 — Suggestion *2025-01-08, version 2.4* This is a great app that would greatly benefit from sound previews for all tracks and the ability to purchase individual soundscapes. Maybe 2.99-4.99 per track. Letting users pay for and keep forever what they want. Also a lifetime membership option that is *reasonably* priced. A lot of people are tired of the subscription model. Eventually they’ll get tired of that extra expense and the product is long forgotten. Allowing ppl actual ownership keeps them coming back years to come because they don’t feel like they’re being taken advantage of. ### 4/5 — Please add now playing section *2024-11-17, version 2.3* The sounds are terrific in this app, would prefer a lifetime subscription option because I hate subscriptions. That’s up to the developer and how they need to monetize this app to make money. With that said, the absolutely needs a now playing button and for tracks to automatically start once clicked. I don’t like having to press play after clicking a track. And without the now playing, if I leave a track to browse others the sound just abruptly stops. ### 2/5 — cash grab *2024-11-16, version 2.3* 99.5% all cost money. only four were free ### 3/5 — Nice sounds. But overall too busy *2024-11-13, version 2.3* There are some good sound bases here. But of the couple dozen I checked out, there was some distracting element that wrecked it. Too many birds. So many I halfway expected to hear them in the space scene. A good base app. Well designed. But you can get more useful sounds for less with other apps. ### 3/5 — Some sounds don't work *2024-10-25, version 2.3* I haven't been able to get green sound to work for months. I use it for my autistic meltdowns and overloads, and no other app works better than Odysound. I'm super disappointed. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, I have full signal, and I've tried reaching out to support, and haven't gotten responses. Three sounds because some sounds still work and the app is nice. But I was upset to find that another app is clambering onto the subscription train ride. I only downloaded the app for one sound I saw advertised (turns out it’s behind the paywall) and would honestly be more willing to spend money on here if I could preview and “buy” individual audios. I get it tho the artists have to be paid, but 56$ for a year of using maybe 4 different audios? It’s a bit much ### 5/5 — Wow *2024-08-21, version 2.1.4* The app is incredible. It’s my break from the world and daily life. Like entering another place just for me. If I could have a soundscape made it would be Caves. The dripping and ambience of echoes. My ideal sound scape would have a slight darker vibe to it like the Sagittarius A soundscape, it would have a light sound of rain and slight wind, a gentle low rumble almost like thunder, and a constant low tone almost like a plane in the far distance with a sci fi twist, it would be fit into the galaxy section and would I would like to be named Ton 618(the largest proven black hole in the observable universe) I am very happy to be able to participate in this contest and I hope to have my sound scape come to life. It crashes. ### 1/5 — More paid subscription content *2024-11-14, version 2.3* I guess I shouldn't be surprised. $8+/month or $55+/ year. Apple really should include this info on the download page so those of us who are cost conscious can just not waste our time. You get 3 free audio samples. Just 3, and none are very interesting imo. I’m actually ok with paying for individual audio environments, but there’s no option to pay for them separately. Nor is there any kind of one time purchase option. For those willing to pay a monthly or annual fee, I hope you enjoy your purchase. The audio is very detailed and you can tell there was a lot of effort put into them. With that being said… there are only around 3 free audios you can choose from. To access any other you need to have a subscription. There should be an option to purchase a few of the sounds. There is also no audio preview option so I wouldn’t even know if it’s worth purchasing a subscription. ### 2/5 — Apple TV issues *2025-03-20, version 2.4.1* The “Balance” and “Universe” settings cannot be adjusted on my Apple TV. Internet is just fine. I’ve tried multiple places, and run speed tests. The “internet” connection is just fine for everything else. The ability to play the soundscapes with the app minimized is broken. I use this app almost all day everyday. The subscription price is worth it for me to have better quality soundscapes than one can find on YouTube and there’s no ads. A full download option would be really nice. I would pay a fair price to be able to save my favorite ones. These sounds not only quickly help me fall asleep but immerse me in an escapism like fantasy when relaxing, focusing on a task, or, my favorite, getting ready for bed. I could not recommend this app more and I am happy to pay my portion to the fantastic creators of these audios! For the contest: I’d love to see an audio that embraces Arctic wildlife like penguins, seals, orcas, etc along with some nice music and windy snow! Or the sound of an ancient egyptian society. The lush sounds of the Nile with birds, crocodiles, and the sound of people’s voices. The warm desert sands brushing and storming by with the sound of Egyptian music playing in the background. There’s so much culture and history that could be brought out in Egyptian culture into sound and audio. ### 5/5 — BEST APP FOR RELAXING *2024-08-22, version 2.1.4* This is one of the best apps for meditating and WOWWW I can’t believe that I even subscribed to this because I’m not a person that likes to spend their money in apps but in this app was totally different I really recommend it when you can’t sleep or you want to just relax 10/10. ### 5/5 — Listen your way into different worlds!! *2024-08-21, version 2.1.4* This app is an experience to have, put on some headphones and escape into known and unknown worlds. When I downloaded it I was expecting an app with some sounds which I can listen to sleep but it was filled with sounds which intrigued and soothed my mind. And if you have a surround sound headphone like me, you are in for a treat. I was listening to ‘Central Park at night’ imagining being there with the perk of not having to worry about my safety. I was listening to ‘Nebula’ and my imagination ran wild on how that planet might be in real life. I was listening to ‘Asylum’ scared for my life. Not like a haunted house but more like a suspenseful movie soundtrack.
