### 2/5 — Only works if the copy doesn’t show

*2026-07-07, version 26.0.4*

You are essentially making a bet on the officer not showing up. Otherwise, the premise is a bit of a bait and switch.

The sell: Pay the cost of the ticket and get out of it or you don’t pay.

The reality: If you dispute the ticket, you lose your ability to take traffic school (if given). If the officer shows, you lose the case, but the lawyer will get traffic school reinstated. This counts as a win, so you pay the lawyer, AND you pay the ticket. The reality is You are worse off than if you just paid the ticket.

May be better for more complex cases, but wouldn’t use it again for a speeding ticket.

### 1/5 — Lawyer never showed; OTR refused refund

*2026-07-02, version 26.0.3*

I booked a lawyer through this service who never showed up to our court date. Then I was forced to represent myself. After representing myself, the ticket was reduced, but my lawyer never presented the courtroom. Then they had the nerve to send me a congratulations that my case was successful through their app. After attempting to reach out to customer service multiple times, however they have no phone number listed or direct person that you can talk to. They told me that they could not refund my money. Even though they had not provided the service my lawyer never showed up, and I represented myself. They continue to refuse my refund. The lawyer that they put me in touch with even offered to refund them his portion and they still refuse. The lawyer ended up, offering to refund me the money directly given the fact that I was never actually represented by anyone. very, very disappointed in this service.

### 1/5 — Lawyer no showed

*2026-06-23, version 26.0.0*

Lawyer didn’t show up to court after saying he would so I got an additional fine for failing to appear.

### 5/5 — Ticket Dismissed With Zero Headaches

*2026-06-21, version 25.0.41*

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Off The Record made the entire process painless. From the moment I submitted my ticket, they connected me with an attorney who handled everything professionally and kept me informed throughout the process. I barely had to do anything other than provide the details and approve the recommended resolution.

The attorney was knowledgeable, responsive, and able to secure a result that saved me from points, fines, and potential insurance increases. The peace of mind alone was worth it.

If you’re dealing with a traffic ticket and want someone in your corner, I highly recommend Off The Record. Worth every penny.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-06-21, version 25.0.41*

the process is easy

### 1/5 — Save your money and go to court yourself

*2026-06-18, version 25.0.41*

Their definition of “a win” is bull. Pay them and then you just end up paying the full fine. Go to court. Save your money. Don’t pay these guys.

### 5/5 — Quickest way to get an attorney

### 5/5 — The Best App To fight Tickets

Off The Record handled my ticket flawlessly. The entire process was smooth, stress-free, and successful. Receiving their witty follow-up email just reminded me how much I appreciate a company with great customer engagement. 5 stars!"

### 5/5 — Really Helpful

*2026-06-12, version 25.0.41*

They got my $500 ticket dismissed and prevented a point on my record! Super easy to use and prices are much better than getting a lawyer on your own. Def recommend!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The attorney is extremely stupid and incompetent

*2026-08-11, version 28.0.2*

She keeps emphasizing that she reduced the points in order to justify getting paid, even though she did not actually reduce the points for me. She also could not remember information I had told her just a few rounds earlier and did not check the record before responding.

### 1/5 — Off the record

*2026-08-08, version 28.0.1*

0/10 did not win case and got no money back

### 1/5 — Don’t use them

*2026-08-07, version 28.0.1*

Booked a lawyer through them. Horrible customer service, app didn’t show any lawyer info until after the consultation period ended ! Highly don’t recommend

### 1/5 — Watch out for bad lawyers.

*2026-08-04, version 28.0.1*

If you get the right lawyer this app can be good. If you get a bad one they will not help you or listen to you. They will differ your ticket and you will have to pay them $200 and your ticket and you will have to take a driving course. Got pulled over by a cop saying they paced me speeding. I wasn’t speeding and I was 4 lanes over from them and they were not moving when I passed them. Now pay $400 plus driving school. Make that make sense.

### 1/5 — Deceptive app design

*2026-08-04, version 28.0.1*

They trap your money before you can make an informed choice.
The app is built on a forced commitment. Their system forces you into a backwards order of operations: you upload your case details, you pay the flat legal fee upfront, and only AFTER your money is taken do you finally get contacted by an attorney. They should really have a filter "Is it even worth fighting this?" before they capture your cash.
Once they got my money, the actual attorney representation didn’t provide any advice or even a practical cost-benefit analysis. They did a great job paper pushing and collecting my information to set a court date. But after waiting a whole year with zero updates, the officer showed up to court, and I lost. Now, I am stuck paying the lawyer's fees, the original ticket, and the court costs. Each case is different, but for a simple traffic infraction like mine, the app and the attorney absolutely had no filter to advise against fighting my specific violation. Before you spend your time and money on here, spend a few minutes utilizing an Al tool for next steps. Google Gemini AI for example did a way better job than this app will. It’s a shame there were limitations to the AI back then. GO HERE IF YOU NEED A PAPER MULE NOT FOR LEGAL HELP.

### 1/5 — Waste of time money

*2026-08-01, version 28.0.1*

Waste of time money. Hired generic attorneys that don’t care at all about outcome of case and have no incentive. Jacked up rates $2000 per renewal period every year for three years. Run by attorneys too

### 1/5 — Quote was way too expensive

*2026-07-25, version 28.0.0*

Wanted $1610 to fight a fist time offense speeding ticket for 2 points that they estimate would raise my insurance rates by $750 over next 3 to 5 years. How is that a good deal?

### 1/5 — Refund policy is a scam

*2026-07-21, version 28.0.0*

I try to be realistic. My attorney changed my plea to no contest the day of the hearing since the officer just showed up to court. What is the point of spending so much money and waiting for an year for court date and getting absolutely nothing in return. I started with traffic school eligibility and ended with same fine and eligibility after an year. And Off the Record says they won’t refund if traffic school is an option even after trial. As if they negotiated traffic school for me, even though it’s my first offense.

### 1/5 — No communication

*2026-07-14, version 27.0.0*

Honestly could have probably gotten a better result representing myself on this ticket than the assigned lawyer did.
Very little communication and did not represent me well as the client. Was a simple 10 mph ticket with no evidence of speed and the attorney only asked for a dismissal and it was rejected.

### 1/5 — No one would take my case

*2026-07-02, version 26.0.3*

I tried 4 times to get an attorney, and I would pay, then they would say the case is pending. Just to cancel it and say they can’t take the case

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Truck driver

*2026-08-25, version 29.0.0*

Best app ever all my tickets been dismissed

### 5/5 — Ticket dismissed!

*2026-08-18, version 28.0.2*

Highly recommend Off the Record if you have a ticket you are trying to get dismissed. It cost me less than paying my ticket would have! Incredibly easy to sign up and then you don’t have to fill out any of the usual court paperwork or take a day off to appear in court (at least in my state), your lawyer handles everything. They will contact you with the result. I had one question and was able to get a very quick response by messaging through my case portal in the app. Can’t recommend highly enough! So easy and saved me time, money, driving record, and insurance points.

### 5/5 — 5 ⭐️

*2026-08-17, version 28.0.2*

They are the best the lawyers are crazy good got me out of speeding ticket. I was going 120 and it got dismissed completely.

### 5/5 — Case dismissed

*2026-07-31, version 28.0.1*

They got my case completely dismissed, they’re law services are the cheapest I’ve found in the market and it’s a very simple and easy process.

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-07-23, version 28.0.0*

The app lives up to its name. Never has it been so easy to hire an attorney. They really should win some kind of award for making legal representation so accessible.

### 5/5 — Getting it done right

*2026-07-10, version 26.0.4*

This app has helped me several times with favorable outcomes. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

### 5/5 — Its worked every single time

*2026-07-08, version 26.0.4*

I’m not proud of confessing I’ve had to use OTR at least 10 times in my live. But every single time I’ve had to the different attorneys that have handled my case have at least make it not reportable. Most of the time the cases have been dismissed. Thank you OTR

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-07-08, version 26.0.4*

I can’t believe how easy it was to find a lawyer and help get my ticket off my record. My lawyer was very helpful and helped me understand everything she was doing. And these are legit lawyers!!! Highly recommend!!!!

### 5/5 — Works like a charm

*2026-07-03, version 26.0.3*

Works great! A little pricey. Pretty funny that they sent an email that said, “ statistic show that users who don’t leave us. A review are 400% more likely to get another speeding ticket. “… That being said at the bottom of email does specify that the statistic is a joke. Very funny.

### 5/5 — Very fast and clear

*2026-07-03, version 26.0.3*

Very fast and clear communication. Resolved the ticket (points reduction) in what must be record time. Very much appreciated.
