This app is an absolute lifesaver! I got a last-minute audition and couldn't find a reader on such short notice. I’m not an actor, just someone who occasionally has to give high stakes presentations, and I’ve always struggled to find a good way to loosely rehearse my pitches. I downloaded OffBook Studio on a whim to try it out, and it has been a complete game changer.

Being able to easily film myself and meticulously rehearse specific transition points completely changed how I prepared. Honestly, OffBook Studio makes rehearsing way less stressful. I like that I can drop in a scene, pick my role, and actually run lines without having to bother a friend every time. It feels simple and practical, especially when an audition comes in last minute. Great app for getting reps in and feeling more prepared.

I stumbled across this app on Instagram right when I needed it most. My wife was completely over reading lines with me for an upcoming audition and this app absolutely saved my skin.
It is easy to use and a total game-changer for rehearsing and recording. I recorded the reader’s lines and tweak the voice so it sounded like a completely different person. And look, no offense to my wife, but she kept messing up the lines when we typically practice, so having a flawless reader was a huge upgrade.
That Teleprompter: It actually scrolls to the rhythm of your voice while you speak. Absolute lifesaver for longer monologues.
 Oh, that smart audio: The reader plays directly into my Bluetooth headphones and the app automatically mixes everything together afterward. Loved that there was zero audio bleed, just a clean, natural-sounding tape.
I'm seriously impressed. Being able to run and record auditions as many times as I want without burning out a scene partner is beautiful. Will absolutely be using this for all my tapes from now on! THAnk you!!!

OffBook Studio is hands down one of the greatest tools for a working actor. I can’t believe it took me so long to find an app this functional. As an actor one of the biggest issues is having to memorize lines and record my auditions without having to ask my spouse, or friends for favors. This allows me to put in the reps to nail the audition in a way that feels right to me. There’s also a teleprompter feature that I found super useful when rehearsing monologues on camera. Especially when you are not given enough time to turn the audition around. This is one of the best actor tools I have found so far and the updates and improvements are consistent. Definitely recommend this for your acting/booking arsenal.

This time, we taught it how to explain itself.

• There’s a new App Tour. Not the kind that points at a button and says, “This is a button.” This one actually walks through how OffBook works — from getting your sides in, to setting up your Reader, rehearsing, recording, and finishing the take. You can also replay it anytime from Settings. Revolutionary concept: instructions that may actually be useful.

• Getting sides into OffBook is easier to understand. The tour now shows you how to send a PDF straight from Mail, Gmail, or Files using the iOS Share sheet — plus how to use Quick Lines and keyboard dictation when you just need to get a scene in now.

• Review & Edit gets its moment. Fix dialogue, change speakers, add or delete lines, clean up multiple bubbles at once, and generally deal with whatever creative formatting adventure came attached to your audition email.

• Your Reader can take direction. Use a ready-made voice, re-record individual Reader lines when you want specific timing or pauses, and use Mask when you’d like to keep the performance without also playing every character yourself.

• Rehearse is better explained now, too. OffBook listens for enough of your scripted dialogue to confidently recognize the cue. You can pause. React. Take the beat. Even wander off-book for a moment. It keeps listening for the scene instead of panicking because an actor did some acting.

• Recording has fewer mysteries. Reader in your AirPods or headphones. Your performance through the iPhone mic. No séance required to figure out which microphone is actually listening.

• LIVE knows when it’s your turn — and when it isn’t. We spent an unreasonable amount of time teaching it how to start, stop, restart, pause, recover, listen, respond, and generally behave like someone who has actually attended rehearsal before.
• Listen & Respond got another serious round of refinement across Rehearse and Record, with faster handoffs, stronger recognition recovery, better short-line handling, and a lot more work devoted to the tiny gap between you finishing a cue and the Reader answering.
• Restart, playback, and rehearsal controls are more dependable. Because pressing Restart should, in fact, restart the scene. Revolutionary stuff.

OffBook went back into rehearsal. Again.
At this point, we’re pretty sure it has a call time.
• Gallery thumbnails have stopped going dark on us. Rebuilding a Reader Mix now refreshes the take poster properly instead of occasionally leaving behind a mysterious black rectangle. Very avant-garde. Not very useful.
• Record is better at staying with you between lines. We tightened up a rare handoff issue where OffBook could get stuck after a very short Reader line and forget to start listening for your next one. Rude. Fixed.
• More Listen & Respond refinement across Rehearse and Record, with continued work on recognition, timing, handoffs, Reader readiness, and keeping the whole exchange feeling less like software taking turns and more like an actual scene partner.
• Reader playback and cue transitions got another round of tuning. Especially around those tiny, fast lines that somehow manage to cause the biggest backstage problems.
• More Gallery mixing and playback polish, including cleaner rebuild behavior and more reliable take handling.
• And, as always, a pile of stability fixes, cleanup, timing adjustments, audio-session wrangling, and invisible backstage work whose entire job is to make sure you never have to know it exists.
No giant marquee feature this time.
