Listed numerous items. One item got a premium listing and got a total of about 5 extra views. No listing got more than 5-10 views. Meanwhile,on other apps I’m getting 100s. You got a simple interface on the app. It’s basic, fine. However, they have not done enough (if anything) to prevent or remedy scammers using their platform. I’ve reported a scammer and their multiple accounts and their items are still for sale. I know their scams because I was a sucker and bought a fraudulent item. Now, I can see items for sale that show the exact same serial numbers, etc. in the listing. I’m holding the fraudulent item and looking at it for sale on other accounts even after reporting. OfferUp can do more to investigate and limit scams and report to local law enforcement. Go use Marketplace, eBay or Craigslist instead. Not worth it. ### 3/5 — Some problems *2026-08-24, version 2026.34.0* I’ve used the app successfully many times, so I like it, but it’s becoming increasingly flawed. On my M4 iPad, it scrolls to the top of the main page whenever you use the back button. Maddening. Also becoming choked with duplicate ads, often by retail businesses. Some you can close after 15-30 seconds but now they made it where you can’t even exit out! Stop sending me pointless notifications with completely FAKE offers that don’t even exist! These people are so desperate just to get you to use their app, that they will interrupt your day at any time just to spam you nonexistent offers. Thanks to these unscrupulous spammers, I had to disable notifications, now I won’t get notified if an actual person tries to contact me. The next time it happens, I’m uninstalling the app. What’s wrong with you guys? I posted 6 items over a month ago. No messages and very few views. I guess you have to pay more money to actually sell something? ### 1/5 — Dead Platform *2026-08-21, version 2026.33.0* Not a good platform for really selling anything unless it’s valued under $200 or you’re willing to get rid of things for free. It is good if you want to buy things for cheap and resell them on Facebook marketplace or craigslist. It used to be so good but over time it became flooded with scammers and also the app itself bans random people for no reason yet lets people with fake names and no profile pictures sell things. This app doesn’t take its own terms of use seriously so why should anyone else? ### 2/5 — Cluttered *2026-08-21, version 2026.33.0* App chugs due to automatic invasive ads. Hard to scroll without phone getting hot and bogging down. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Ads get in the way too much *2026-08-25, version 2026.34.0* When searching for an item it is hard to browse with out accidentally clicking a link to an ad that takes you outside the app. The reason items don’t sell that well anymore is because of the ads that take you outside of the app. You have to force close the app sometimes to get them to get out of the ad. You should have to intentionally want to see the ad for the ad to be clickable. They make the scrolling so sensitive that if you scroll through the listings you will accidentally click on ads several times before you can see the rest of the listing. Offer up made their app this way since they get paid per click. It’s their way of making sure you click an ad you never intentionally wanted to click on. This makes buying and selling on offer up not worth it anymore. I’m deleting this app and trying something else or going back to Craigslist. In fact I’m staring to hear more people are talking about Craigslist for ads again. Makes sense no sticky ads that you are forced to click on accidentally. Ad clicking should be intentional. OfferUp makes unintentional clicking on ads and it’s frustrating. ### 1/5 — Items won’t sell *2026-08-25, version 2026.34.0* Useless app buyers are a one to message and flake everyday executive don’t waste your time posting your items. ### 1/5 — Super annoying nonsense notifications & makes my phone run very hot *2026-08-24, version 2026.34.0* Offer Up has a couple flaws right off the top of my head. If you message a seller, and want to exchange more photos, you have to take it outside of Offer Up. This is something Offer Up could easily fix. Another thing Offer Up should fix is how resource intensive the app is. This is the only app that makes my phone run hot. Are they mining crypto in the background?! And the nonsense notifications! “Jay needs your opinion about a Toyota Tacoma” etc. I never searched for a Toyota Tacoma and I dgaf. Knock it off with the stupid nonsense notifications whose sole purpose is to increase engagement with the app. But if that engagement is interrupting me and annoying me, it’s going to increase deletion of the app. Make a toggle to turn that nonsense off already! ### 1/5 — Horrible *2026-08-24, version 2026.34.0* It’s impossible to find listings where the owner is still active. Countless of these listings get posted and sit forever and I can never get a response. ### 1/5 — It’s a headache! *2026-08-23, version 2026.33.0* Although I already have an account with my email when I tried to send a message to a buyer the app asked me for my mobile number so I typed it, but then it said the phone had too many accounts and I couldn’t send the message because that’s my only phone number. I don’t remember opening any accounts with that number so how else am I supposed to sent the message?
