From other reviews, this seems to be a years-long, obvious gap that has not been addressed. C’mon, developers - do better! ### 2/5 — Where Are The Favorites? *2024-08-30* It's astonishing that this app doesn't allow filtering by favorites. The MN on a Stick app is far more intuitive and much easier to follow. Glad I came here because I learned about the app “MN on a Stick” now this a game changer. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2024-08-16, version 1.0.2* I’m not finding the 2024 app as user friendly as ones in the past. The map is useless as a gray screen covers the map and will not go away. I always chose my favorite eats and activities and they would appear on the map so I could plan my route. ### 1/5 — Poor app *2024-08-14, version 1.0.2* Not sure what this app is intended to provide. Can’t even get the ticket purchase to work. Had to go to the web site and use that, which appears to be the same as the app, to purchase tickets. Failed 4 times on the app. ### 1/5 — Hard to Find Food *2024-08-12, version 1.0.1* The options for food at the fair can be overwhelming - what’s nearby, what’s good, where’s that place I heard about on the news, etc. This app doesn’t really help - you can look at and favorite new foods or food vendors (in their separate sections - why?), but they don’t cross-link at all. So you favorite the Afro Poppers…and then realize that you need to go to the food finder and maybe favorite Afro Deli. Then you go to the map and hope that you can filter by your favorites - wouldn’t it be great just to see a map with the food and events you’re interested in? But no. The map can’t even accurately show vendors that are close to each other, ridiculous considering the density of food options. You have to search for “Que Viet” for example, to see it’s pin under “Spaghetti Eddies.” What’s the point of a map for an event like this where you have to already know what you’re looking for? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not worth it even at free… *2026-08-28* This is a terrible app. Don’t even bother downloading. The event list search ability could be a bit better but it worked well enough to just scan thru the listed events. The app noted things in the coupon book but didn’t note what page they were on, that would be helpful to add. ### 5/5 — Handy App *2025-08-30* The Minnesota State Fair app worked great for me this year. I was able to favorite the shows I wanted to attend and mark the vendors I wanted to visit, which made planning easy. I especially liked that it included menu options for food vendors—it helped me decide what to try ahead of time. The map feature was also really useful for finding my way around the fairgrounds. Overall, a very helpful tool to make the most of the fair! ### 5/5 — The best state fair *2024-08-23* SO helpful! The daily schedule is chock full (when others said it was pretty bleak), and there’s a lot of awesome lists. You can star things you want to do, and when you click on a restaurant or food booth, it’ll show you where it is! I've just taken a look at the new improved version and there is absolutely no comparison. The latest version that I downloaded today is fantastic. It has a different UI than previous versions of past years, but I find it to be useful, intuitive, and unrecognizable from the app that existed on August 1.
