I have been attempting to leave a message for my provider for days and all I can do is work with a chatbot. Unfortunately, despite calls to Ognomy and my insurance provider before the appointment to verify my insurance coverage, I was still met with large bills after the fact. These bills were not for my test, which was indeed covered, but were for the two perfunctory telehealth consults before and after the test. Apparently those were not covered. It would have been nice to know that in advance so I could have avoided this. I was wary about doing anything medical through an app and I wouldn’t recommend it to others. I was waking up constantly at night and falling asleep throughout the day. My boss was so worried about my health she gave me an ultimatum - get help or she’d call my mom! But the idea of finding a doctor and spending a night in a sleep lab kept me from doing what I needed to. And then I found Ognomy. Dr Akinnusi is AMAZING! I wondered about telehealth and the at home test, but I feel like he has actually gotten to know me and the at home test provided very interesting results that explained why I was always waking up and why I was so tired. And he shared all of my results with me, walked me through what everything meant, and discussed multiple treatment options. I never felt like I was being bamboozled; he made it clear that the choices were mine to make to do something or nothing at all. I was able to order my CPAP through a vendor of my choice, but thanks to COVID it wasn’t easy. The Ognomy team called around my area to see what they could find. I ultimately went with an online retailer, and Ognomy immediately reached out to them to figure out what I would need to do to get the therapy results sent to them, then called me to explain everything, and then emailed me to give me the exact information to provide to the vendor. It was so easy. I’ve been with Ognomy since October and had my machine for about a month. The follow up is amazing. The cost is very reasonable (I have a high deductible plan so I pay most expenses through my HSA; Ognomy handles filing my paperwork with my insurance to help meet my minimum deductible). Scheduling appointments (and changing them) is simple to do through the app, though the team is available to assist if you need. Before every appointment I get a call from the team to confirm my appointment and to answer any questions. Honestly, this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my health. I have no regrets and I’ve referred friends to Ognomy. If you are experiencing sleep issues and it’s impacting your life, do your body a favor and get the help you need with Ognomy. The process is simple, comprehensive, and effective. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cannot login with Google *2026-04-24, version 4.0.7* App gives an error from Google that ognomy does not comply with google’s policies, so I cannot get in. ### 1/5 — All they prescribed is a CPAP to use for the rest of my life *2025-04-10, version 4.0.7* They billed me for a doctor I never met with, who they had me meet with was a APRN (nurse) who was not very knowledgeable with a dog barking in the background as she sat at home in a Tank top (Carissa). They billed my insurance over $750 for an at home sleep test which I had to pay over $170 for (never explained up front). They kept hounding me and threatening to charge me $173 if I did not return the sleep ring they provided within 24 hours. In the end all they can prescribe is a CPAP but couldn’t tell me what brand and explained they and my insurance would have access to monitor my use and I would have to continue follow up appointments even though there is no cure. I explained I am often congested so that could be part of my breathing problems and asked how the CPAP would be effective if I am congested and the nurse said “ use flownaise”.. an Ora ring would have been a cheaper option to diagnose me and I don’t need a nurse to tell me to use flownaise for $55+ an appointment. not worth it! ### 1/5 — Terrible Support *2024-01-18, version 3.5.2* You’re just going to be a number to these guys. They’ll hound you to get your money, but then when you need follow up/support they’re no where to be found. I still am waiting on an itemized receipt that I have attempted to get multiple times. It’s always a response of we’ll notify billing and then nothing. Do yourself a favor and use a more reputable company. ### 1/5 — This app gave me zero information and zero diagnosis *2022-11-17, version 3.2.2* I gave them all this information, and all they did was want to set me up for an appointment with a doctor, without being able to check whether it is covered by my insurance in advance. So basically they are just looking for people to set up doctors appointments with without any screening to see whether the appointment will be covered by insurance. And usually’s sleep studies are extremely expensive ### 1/5 — I’d give this ZERO stars if I could. *2022-09-25, version 3.2.1* Nice concept, poorly managed. I had to email my forms to the doctor they hour of my consultation because the app didn’t forward it to them. Didn’t get my home test until I paid the co-pay WHICH THEY NEVER SAID NEEDED TO BE PAID IN ORDER TO SHIP. My issue isn’t the co-pay, it’s the complete lack of effective communication. Again with follow up consult after my test. Had to do the co-pay before the video would work…no notice to log in early to take care of it before the appointment. Just contact your insurance carrier for a local provider who does virtual consults. Even my doctor was thinking of dropping this company because of all the complaints she has received from patients. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2022-06-20, version 3.0.1* Cannot reach customer service. Every time I call it goes to voicemail. The app has no record of my consult. It’s been almost two weeks and I have no idea if the device will ever ship. The app did not notify me of the upcoming appointment, and then the practitioner ended up just calling me and doing the consultation over the phone. I still haven’t received an study kit in the mail, and there’s been no communication about next steps. I’m sure later versions will address some of these early bumps. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time with this. *2021-10-05, version 2.6.9* Go to an actual doctor, this is just a way to steal money out of your insurance, 4 months desling with these people and still no cpap machine. Major waste of my time. Update: no do not blame your incompetence on a shortage because it took about 4 month for you guys to send the information to a provider. Even after I clearly stated my condition your doctor still went through the process knowing full well it was going to be a waste of time. I express my discontent many times so lying in response to my review saids a lot about this company. On top of it all the providers you guys choose had to cancel the order because you did not send the required paperwork and now you sent my information to another provider who doesn’t event exist. Again I stand with my review and will encourage anyone to skip this and go to an actual sleep doctor. ### 1/5 — This app wants too much info *2020-12-23, version 2.0.1* I downloaded this app and began the process of setting up an account. They wanted my email address, ok. Then they wanted my first name, ok. Then they wanted my last name, kind of odd, but ok. Then they asked for my physical address. There is no reason a sleep app needs my physical address. The only reason they would want that info is to send me bunch of crap in the mail. So, I deleted the app. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2020-12-09, version 2.0* I downloaded the app so that I could get some help with my sleep apnea. I answered all of the questions asked by “sheepa”, which took about 10 min, and includes sharing your health insurance information. I took a picture of my insurance card!!!! After they have all this information “Sheepa” then asks me for my address, and tells me “the service” is not available in my area! WHY WOULDN’T YOU ASK FOR THE ADDRESS FIRST!!!
