### 4/5 — Good but frustrated by occasional forced bidding

*2025-06-16, version 2.5.8*

I enjoy this game but don’t like it when it forces me to choose a bid I would not take. For example, if the deal is 2 cards and my hand has 2 low value cards and no trump, why should my choices be only 1 or 2? Sometimes the exact bid I want to make is not available to me, which is frustrating.

### 4/5 — Great Game If You Know How To Play It

*2024-10-28, version 2.5.7*

Would be helpful if the app included instructions for the various versions of the game (e.g. Pratt & Whitney).

### 4/5 — Easy

*2024-07-05, version 2.5.7*

The game is to easy to win. The computer does not bid logically.

### 3/5 — Bids!

*2023-03-29, version 2.3.8*

I like the game but I don't like when I don't have a choice for all bids available 1. Sometimes it say 0 or three and I want to bid one! Not fair

### 3/5 — Changes

*2023-01-14, version 2.3.8*

I would like to see the other players bid also.

### 3/5 — Eag

*2022-12-04, version 2.3.8*

Great game but would like to review hands after play

### 4/5 — Review

*2022-07-21, version 2.3.8*

I find it difficult to tell who the dealer is, and when it’s my turn to bid, and who plays the opening hand first

### 4/5 — Recent issue detected

*2022-03-06, version 2.1.0*

This is a great game but.. I used to be able to select the suit if I wanted to sluff off cards. Now it often forces me to play a suit which is often trump even if I don’t want to thus causing me to take a trick I don’t want.

### 4/5 — Great and addictive

*2021-07-29, version 2.1.0*

I love this game it just annoys me when it says I have to pick at least one trick to win when I know for a fact that I can’t get any. I woudl like for this to be changed/fixed

### 3/5 — Good app but…..

*2021-07-23, version 2.1.0*

Purchased the $2.99 get rid of ads on my iPhone but ads still come up on my iPad

### 3/5 — Fun, but a couple of issues

*2021-01-16, version 2.0.8*

I enjoy this game, but there is one rule that changes the entire dynamic of the game: leading with trump before it has been broken. In this version of the game, you can lead with trump any time. I’ve always played where trump can’t be lead until it’s broken. With all the options, perhaps consider the ability to toggle that rule on and off.
Also, I have an iPhone, which has circles at the top of the screen that cut into the graphic display of the player on the left. This makes it hard to easily tell what they’ve bid.

### 4/5 — Still in development

*2020-08-11, version 2.0.8*

I will consider giving this game a 5 star rating when the developer finalises the multiplayer option.

### 4/5 — Good practice

*2020-07-16, version 2.0.8*

Good practice, but does not keep score the same way my buddies taught me. Graphics are nice.

### 5/5 — Bryant

*2020-04-16, version 2.0.8*

Oh hell is a classic game. We play it a little different in our family. We play it with low score wins. Look forward to being able to play with MORE custom rules and also with more people. Less rounds.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not usable on large iPhone

*2020-05-26, version 2.0.8*

Trump isn’t visible when you bid first. Game is unusable on iPhone 11 plus. Need to resize app for large screen.

### 1/5 — Ads

*2017-09-27, version 1.7.6*

Worst longest running ads that can't be skipped unless you close the app and reload. Reloading is quicker than watching

### 1/5 — Well, you ruined it.

*2017-09-27, version 1.7.6*

The advertising videos interrupt every game for the past couple weeks. I'm going to delete the app. Too bad. It was fun to play. Too bad for the other advertisers on the app 'cause people are going to close the app before they ever see their ads.

### 1/5 — New update makes the game unplayable

*2016-03-20, version 1.6.1*

Can't see the trump suit with the new update! :((

### 2/5 — Great game, but…

*2026-05-29, version 2.7.9*

This game is very well done. I like all the options and the ability to pick the strengths of the computer opponents.

But here’s a complaint that with regret makes this only a two-star game.

There should be an option to not use the “hook” rule: This rule is both unnecessary and frustrating.

I hate that rule!

### 2/5 — Loved the game until

*2026-05-13, version 2.7.2*

I have played this game for years and loved it and moved up the leader board. Now they are doing strange things and I am just lost as to what they expect me to do. I can’t do I can no longer access the game. If I could figure out the contortions that they want me to go through I would. I can’t, so adios.

### 2/5 — Do NOT Play

*2020-04-28, version 2.0.8*

This version (on 4/282020) does NOT allow you to choose what you want to bid!!! There were several hands where I wanted to bid zero and the choice wasn’t on the screen. Another time, I wanted to bid 1 - which wasn’t available. I could only choose between zero and 2. I knew I would only get 1 - so I’ve deleted this app. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is card action is smooth, Player names can be changed to ones you want, and graphics are pretty good. Fix the bugs in the bidding and I revise my review.

### 2/5 — Well executed, except...

*2017-06-21, version 1.7.6*

Very well done version of this game (although I do hope that more options will be added to be able to customize it to the way I'm used to playing), but with a fatal flaw: poor AI. It is overall pretty weak...even the more challenging should really only rate a normal.....but sometimes just nonsensical: I've had them bid (unforced) zero while holding the Ace of trump.

### 3/5 — 10 yrs in STILL BEST!

*2026-01-13, version 2.6.3*

*UPDATED 2026:
OK since the last update, I have only played twice as you have removed the options of always starting a new game or joining others mid play. It’s no longer the same game. For a few of us are playing now… I’ve been giving you five star reviews for 10 years but not anymore.
This last update killed the fun in it for me. Too many options have been removed. 😔

Please unroll this update so I can go back to my favorite daily game!
________
Ignore complaints in a few of the reviews by people that don’t understand the premise of the game. (complaining about not being able to bid what they want… When that’s the point. Otherwise everybody could make their bid every round! ) Raised on this game it’s still a family favorite with all generations. This app utilizes all the traditional rules as well as variations for the game and the app has been a favorite go to of mine for more than a decade. The developers updated regularly and I’ve never had annoying glitches or bugs in it… Maybe once but they were quick to fix it and they always respond to communications if you write for support.

If I had one wish not available in it, it would be a wonderful gift to be able to have a chat option or comment option during games as I’ve competed against some of other players for years, but don’t have the ability to add them or communicate in any way. Any help to facilitate this would be much appreciated from the developers.

### 3/5 — Nice … but

*2024-05-04, version 2.5.5*

A well-designed game but it occasionally limits the selection of bids you can make. For example, I may want to bid “0” but “0” is not an option. I’d give 5 stars otherwise.

### 5/5 — Card Shark

*2024-04-04, version 2.5.5*

Great graphics and flow to the game. Large enough to fill the entire screen on an iPad. Some rules are not quite right. Other than that a very good game.

### 5/5 — Great fun!

*2023-12-02, version 2.3.8*

Oh Hell is brilliant!!! Played this game years ago. I like the slight different variations that come with it. Very addictive

Love it

### 5/5 — Great game

*2022-12-06*

This game is very well done. I like all the options and the ability to pick the strengths of the computer opponents.

A minor complaint: I just wish there was an option to not use the “hook” rule: This rule disallows a bid that would cause the total amount of tricks bid to be equal to the number of total tricks available.

I hate that rule!

### 5/5 — Better competition

*2021-07-29, version 2.1.0*

I said the game to the hardest level of all players I still see some horrific bids. For example when there’s an ace or a king of Trump the computer is bidding zero when there’s no way they’re not gonna take at least that one trick. Should be an easy fix. That thought process by the computer should be a no-brainer at every level of difficulty

### 5/5 — Oh hell a helluvalot of fun.

*2021-05-04, version 2.1.0*

Beautiful game board. Lots of choices but wish that the multiplayer version would allow you to choose when you want to use your trump cards and also there would be a choice to use jokers or not .

### 5/5 — Nice graphics and satisfying game play

*2021-04-02, version 2.0.8*

Happy to find an enjoyable version of an old favorite

### 5/5 — review

*2020-12-31, version 2.0.8*

I am not text savvy

But I have enjoyed playing card games

My sister occasionally invites me because she has purchased it and I think it’s a great idea
