The app will tell me that the battery is on 59% but the Beetle will tell me that I still have three bars. The Bluetooth doesn’t always connect so I don’t know in real time how many miles I’m going. it doesn’t even record or rather it hasn’t been recording my distance that I have traveled. It will lock and unlock the scooter perfectly tho. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2024-10-24, version 3.1.5* Always a pain to connect it to the scooter. Half the time does not connect. The app changes speeds on its own and you get stuck half way to your destination with no way to fix it. ### 3/5 — Requires network connectivity to access scooter settings *2024-07-19, version 3.1.1* I found out today that if your phone doesn’t have access to the internet, you won’t be able to use the app to change settings or lock/unlock your scooter, which obviously would be very bad and could leave you stuck somewhere. Also, even if your phone has an internet connection but Okai’s servers are unavailable (as they are today, possibly because of the Cloudstrike outage) the situation is the same. The app will not connect to your scooter. Remote server connection should not be necessary. All settings updated should be possible with only a Bluetooth connection but the app will not work without an internet connection. Luckily I am within the return window for my OKAI Neon Ultra as this huge oversight is unacceptable. If OKAI was to drop support for their app or deprecate their servers, the scooter would be little more than a paperweight. ### 1/5 — Worst Ever *2024-07-18, version 3.1.1* i had the app on my old phone to control the scooter such as the speed and lights and more . Since i got a new phone i had to re download to app and i forgot my password . We called customer service and they said that can’t change the password and they can not give us a new password . I can no longer long into or use the app . This result me into only be able to be on 15 speed . I honestly think I’m going to return my scooter because of how bad the app is. ### 1/5 — what happened? *2024-06-05, version 3.1.0* this app was a little buggy before, but I very much dislike how they removed the custom color effects for each different drive mode. there used to be an option to edit the way it looked when you were accelerating, stationary, and charging. now it only adjusts for when it’s on or charging, but with lesser effect options. I know I’m not the only one who specifically bought one of their scooters because of the unique color settings that were available. are their any other brands that have more options? ### 2/5 — Where do I find my bike tracking? *2024-05-31, version 3.1.0* On the description of this bike it says you can access live location tracking, however there is no such option in the app. This is kinda frustrating as it would be really nice to have access to this feature. (And yes, my phone settings give the app full location access). It’s also sorta annoying that if you change your screen display, it changes back to the default every time you turn the bike off. It’s a great scooter I’ve always loved riding it but I was really hoping to see all the cool stuff on the app first hand. Such a great app! ### 5/5 — Okai Beetle *2022-02-17* I downloaded this app and it still needs some improvements and it disconnects from my beetle, I do love the fact that I can use the app to change my speed or turn off my beetle, it shows in one place I’ve gone over 300 miles but I think that was a factory test or something because I have only ridden this for 4 miles so far. The reason why it gets 5 stars is because I LOVE my Okai Beetle and I love the app support!! I am very impressed with them and how they try to help you! The beetle can go up to 16 mph but mine only goes up to 13 mph, which seems pretty fast so far. First off, the app should allow a LOT more dashboard styles, I hate being restricted to dark, light, and Christmas. It also needs a setting for the lights to have them just neutral and not breathing or meteor all the time. It desperately needs a way to connect to the scooter other than Bluetooth, because anybody could find the scooter in the vicinity and unless I lock it up with a chain, they can connect and take it. Lastly, PLEASE add cruise control and exact battery percent on the dash board, I hate having to stop to check my phone to see my percent battery. Secondly the scooter, the rear fender is flimsy and the screws fell out, so it’s basically un-usable in that regard and I get mud all over me when riding. A response at least would be appreciated.
