You e been warned .. uphold or crypto.com ### 1/5 — Be warned *2023-09-19, version 5.3.110* After purchasing crypto and sending to my exodus wallet, account was frozen and in order to unlock it, they required the following: Three most recent bank statements, current paystub, screenshots of my bank account showing transactions, reason for buying crypto… After confirming all of this, I then get another request asking my current external wallet balance and they want to know where the crypto goes when it leaves my Exodus wallet. My exodus wallet has nothing to do with OKCoin and should be irrelevant. This would be exactly like going to the ATM withdrawing cash and the bank locking the account until you show them how the cash was spent. Or requiring receipts for debit card purchase. This is the most absurd verification I’ve ever been through. Lookout for our newest YouTube video exposing this ridiculous invasion of privacy. ### 1/5 — Do not use if you are not in America! *2023-08-18, version 5.3.110* This app continues to fail in many different areas. Reset codes simply don’t come through, ensuring that it’s impossible to reset your password and access your account when locked out. And accessing extra help is simply out of the question, as the help page doesn’t load. Both of these have ensured that I cannot access my account any more. Avoid! ### 4/5 — Great For US…App Is Overpriced *2023-07-13, version 5.3.110* You pay for convenience. BEWARE: If you convert using the app you will pay 10X the fees than making a limit order through the website directly. Maker/Taker trading orders are not accessible through the app and deposits default to your funding account - which cannot be transferred to the trading account through the app either (crypto must be in trading account to sell). Limit (maker) orders can only be placed directly on website and while liquidity is not as high as some of the other US EX giants (Crypto.com, Kraken, Coinbase, etc.), the spread is at or BETTER the current global market price on their regular exchange. It is like the regular apps for other giants - you pay a massive spread unless trading on an “advanced app” with an order book, which OkCoin lacks. Nonetheless, I suggest creating using the Apple “Shortcuts” feature to make a custom icon with an action (Safari) to open their website instead of using this app. Avoid the trap of paying high fees… 0.10% fee to sell for most retail traders. $0 fee to ACH withdrawal, and low minimum. Overall amazing in all other regards compared to many other U.S. crypto exchanges. I recommend going here if you need to SELL CRYPTO TO FIAT. There is a 10-day hold before you can withdrawal if depositing fiat via ACH. Common for many exchanges. I found Strike app is the solution for free ACH deposit and instant withdrawal. No fees and only a 0.5% spread on the BTC market price. They also support lightning network. Way better for BTC than Cash App lol. ### 1/5 — SMS text verification not working *2023-07-07, version 5.3.110* The app needs to updated to send the code via email if the sms text or call feature isn’t working. Customer service is not helpful either.
