## What is OKIRO?

OKIRO is the alarm that never gives up. Solve a mission — math, shake, typing, memory, steps, photo, or an NFC tag — to prove you're truly awake.

NEW: SLEEP ANALYSIS (Pro)
Wear an Apple Watch to bed and OKIRO reads last night from Health: stages, heart rate, HRV, breathing, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, even how loud your room got.

But a number only answers "what". OKIRO answers "why" — in a sentence.

"You had 10 minutes of daylight yesterday, well under your usual, and took 40 minutes to fall asleep."
"Your room reached 68 dB overnight and you surfaced 3 times."
"You went to bed at close to your usual time. Steady beats long."

Every reading is shown against your own normal, so there is nothing to look up. A wrist temperature of 33.6°C tells nobody anything; "0.3° above your normal" tells everybody something.

It shows yesterday's daylight and activity alongside the night they shaped — the parts you can actually change before tonight. Export a fortnight as a spreadsheet if you want to show a doctor.

Read-only. OKIRO never writes to Health and never uploads anything.

NEW: WORK BACKWARDS FROM ARRIVAL (free)
Tell it when you need to be somewhere. It subtracts travel and getting-ready time and sets the alarm. No more mental arithmetic at midnight.

NEW: SKIP PUBLIC HOLIDAYS (free)
A weekday alarm can sit out Japanese public holidays. Worked out on your iPhone — nothing is downloaded.

NEW: POWER NAP (free)
One tap for a 10–90 minute nap. No mission, and it clears itself away afterwards.

NEW: 44 ALARM TONES, SEARCHABLE (Pro for the full set)
Temple bell, music box, taiko, an old telephone — plus voices that call you until you're up. Search by name or by mood.

TRIPLE-DEFENSE RINGING
Apple's iOS 26 alarm system rings through Silent and Focus modes. A notification chain keeps going even with the app closed. And full in-app ringing drives you to the mission.

WAKE CHECK (Pro)
A few minutes after you stop the alarm, OKIRO asks if you're still up. No answer, and it rings again.

PARTNER SILENT MODE (Pro, Apple Watch)
Wake up without waking whoever is next to you. Your Watch buzzes instead of the phone ringing. If the Watch doesn't respond in time, the phone rings normally — you'll never miss an alarm.

SLEEP SOUNDS
White noise generated on-device, real recordings of rain, waves and fireplace seamlessly looped. Fade-out timer included, no extra downloads.

COMPLETELY PRIVATE
No account. No ads. No tracking. Not your photos, not your sleep — nothing leaves your phone.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-09-08

Still won't stop until you're up. Everything around that just got better.

■ Sleep analysis (Pro)
Wear your Apple Watch to bed and OKIRO reads last night from Health — stages, heart rate, breathing, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, even how loud your room got.
It doesn't just list numbers. It explains them: "You had 10 minutes of daylight yesterday, and took 40 minutes to fall asleep." Every reading is shown against your own normal, so there is nothing to look up.
Export a fortnight as a spreadsheet. Read-only, and nothing leaves your iPhone.

■ Skip Japanese holidays
Weekday alarms can now sit out public holidays, worked out on your iPhone.

■ Work backwards from arrival
Say when you need to be there. OKIRO subtracts your travel and getting-ready time.

■ Tag mission (Pro)
The alarm stops only when you scan the NFC tag on your mirror or the barcode on your toothpaste.

■ Match my calendar (Pro)
Rings earlier only on the days that start early. You get a heads-up the evening before.

■ Smart wake on Apple Watch (Pro)
Buzzes when you're in light sleep in the last 30 minutes — never later than the time you set.

■ 44 alarm tones, up from 13 (Pro)
Temple bell, music box, taiko, an old telephone, and voices that call you until you're up. Searchable.

■ Power nap, skip just the next one, lock before it rings

■ Settings moved, on purpose
The alarm editor's first screen is now just time, days, mission and sound. The rest lives under "More options".

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-27

OKIRO 1.2 — Photo Mission & Apple Watch support

• NEW: Photo Mission — snap the same spot every morning to silence the alarm (Pro)
• NEW: Partner Silent Mode — your Apple Watch buzzes so you wake up without waking them (Pro)
• Assorted reliability fixes and improvements

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-26

13 sounds — and mornings you can actually trust.

■ 13 alarm tones (was 5)
Koto, piano, morning birds, crystal bells, deep sonar and more. The free plan goes from 2 to 5. Every tone is synthesized on your iPhone, so nothing is ever downloaded.

■ 13 sleep sounds (was 6)
Mountain stream, fireplace, room fan, night train, summer night, heartbeat and deep cave. The free plan goes from 1 to 3.
With Pro, the new Sleep Mixer layers up to 4 sounds at once — rain over a fireplace, waves under night wind.

■ Test my alarm now
Sends a real alarm notification in 10 seconds, so you can lock your iPhone and hear it for yourself before you trust it with tomorrow.

■ Automatic reliability check
OKIRO now warns you on the home screen when something would stop your alarm from ringing — and fixes it in one tap.

■ Bedtime reminder
A nightly nudge to wind down, showing how much sleep you would get before your next alarm.

■ Things that keep you going
• 12 achievement badges
• Streak Freeze — one missed morning no longer resets your streak (Pro)
• 6 accent themes that recolor the whole app (Pro)
• Gentle fade-in wake-up that rises from a whisper to full volume (Pro)

■ Other improvements
• Lock Screen widgets
• Fixed: the snooze limit was not being applied correctly
• Fixed: the alarm could stay silent after a phone call or Siri
• The sleep timer now genuinely fades out instead of cutting off
• VoiceOver and Reduce Motion support

Still zero ads, zero data collection, and no account required.
