### 3/5 — bugs !!!

*2025-11-08*

Je trouve l application interressante mais continuellement elle bug ! Elle se bloque systématiquement au milieu de réviser je n entend pas la voix qui parle et s arrête ne pouvant passé à la phrase suivante
Je suis obligée de relance à chaque la polication!

### 4/5 — Great method but some spelling mistakes

*2025-11-06, version 72.0.5*

I really enjoy the pace and the imagery. It’s like a game and in two days i made lots of progress. However since I already have a base I spotted mistakes. For example Meat and Butcher are misspelled in the first level.

### 2/5 — Trop d’erreurs

*2025-05-23*

### 2/5 — Beautiful app but is buggy and missing lots of information

*2025-04-11*

I was absolutely blown away by the visual display of this app and went ahead and opted for the pro version. It’s frustrating because in each of the lessons it keeps freezing and I keep having to close out lessons and reopen them and it just does it over and over again. Also there seems to be something wrong with the lessons for instance, if you’re doing the lesson for numbers, it only does numbers one through 10 nothing greater than 10 which is highly useful. I really have high hopes for this app and really hope there is more in the works of development for it but as of right now it’s very disappointing with all of the problems within the app and limited offering.

### 2/5 — From Hero to zero

*2025-02-18*

### 3/5 — Revised: Bought the lifetime deal, but it doesn’t include live

*2024-09-24, version 68.0.6*

The app is a visually beautiful tool and it works very well. I was excited when I saw the amazing lifetime deal but I just learned it doesn’t include the Live courses and that it would be an additional $89 for the lifetime deal.

It feels misleading but I can get over it. Overall, I really like the functionality and look forward to adding this to my language learning collection.

### 4/5 — How do I choose a level?

*2024-09-12, version 68.0.6*

Great app and maybe better than Speakly (the only other app I know for learning Estonian). But how do I choose my level? I am learning both Estonian (A1/A2 level) and Italian (B2+ level) but I can’t find a way to set my level so it keeps giving me really easy Italian stuff to learn. Maybe a paid feature?

### 4/5 — A good start

*2024-08-01, version 68.0.6*

German lessons don’t teach genders with nouns, so I can’t recommend the app for German.

I looked at the French and Italian courses and didn’t see that omission so it could be unique to German.

### 4/5 — Ok app - not a fan of how they handled the upgrades

*2024-06-12*

First off, the use of speaking to study is a great option.

The conversations are good for grabbing phrases and then inserting them into your own flashcard app. Which you will need to use because the review feature on this app isn’t good enough or customisable enough to truly cement what it is you’re learning.

Pro’s and minor Con’s aside, what I really don’t like is that I bought a Lifetime upgrade (yep, stupid me), and then the app six months later decides they will unveil a Live feature using Ai. But you guessed it - the people who bought lifetime memberships don’t get access to it. Not even a discount as a reward! Which would be very much appreciated as the rates are very expensive and on the level of more well-rounded and established language learning apps.

The experience has soured me from ever buying a lifetime membership again as developers now use lifetime membership upgrades as a temporary cash infusion to fund feature development that they’ll then expect to charge you again for. Better to stick to a time period subscription and then ditch an app if they screw you over.

### 3/5 — A Great Start, but many inconsistencies in Thai

*2024-06-03, version 62.0.3*

I don’t regret buying this app, as it’s been helpful for learning Thai. However, the farther I get, the more frustrated I’m getting with one thing: very often now, the Thai words that are written are not the same words that are being spoken. The sentence means basically the same thing in each, but often the word order is different, or sometimes a word is added or left out.
I’m trying to learn to read Thai script as I go, but it’s frustrating to not know how to pronounce what is written because what’s being said is different. Please make the script and the spoken recording consistent!

### 4/5 — Please fix the French Live Lesson

*2024-05-31, version 62.0.3*

Everything is enjoyable thus far, but I have one complaint and that is the Live Lesson feature that I paid for always marking me wrong for saying "Je suis désolée" or other phrases that are pronounced exactly the same as the male version of it ("Je suis désolé"). Please fix that. Thank you.

### 3/5 — SO attacking

*2024-05-28, version 60.0.6*

I literally just downloaded the app and it already tells me to subscribe, also when I actually started learning it didn't even show me what the words where, just strait up phrases. I already know a but of french so I could answer the questions but for completely new people it would be very confusing. This app has lot’s of potential with its aesthetic design but please make it more of a slow paced experience.

### 3/5 — The Icelandic Course Needs Work

*2024-03-27, version 47.1.1*

This is the first language app I’ve found that finally has an Icelandic course on it, but unfortunately it looks like there are quite a few mistakes in it. Maybe the developers could get an Icelandic expert to go over it and make changes? Still, it’s definitely better than nothing and I love the mechanics of the app itself.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ai slop app that doesn’t even let you use it for free

*2026-04-25, version 74.0.7*

At least put ads or something 😭 why would anyone pay to use this ai slop. It’s a nice idea but it’s not worth money

### 1/5 — Beautiful app but is buggy and missing lots of information

*2025-04-17, version 70.0.3*

I was absolutely blown away by the visual display of this app and went ahead and opted for the pro version. It’s frustrating because in each of the lessons it keeps freezing and I keep having to close out lessons and reopen them and it just does it over and over again. Also there seems to be something wrong with the lessons for instance, if you’re doing the lesson for numbers, it only does numbers one through 10 nothing greater than 10 which is highly useful. I really have high hopes for this app and really hope there is more in the works of development for it but as of right now it’s very disappointing with all of the problems within the app and limited offering.

Update - the app has stopped functioning altogether on IPad as of 4/16/25 huge disappointment

### 1/5 — Purchased this app but my account didn’t transfer to the new phone

*2024-08-14, version 68.0.6*

I purchased the app but it won’t transfer to the new phone. It keeps asking to buy again. There isn’t any customer service.

### 1/5 — not recommended

*2024-06-07*

I regret paying the yearly subscription. I didn't learn German with this app. There is no point in spending money on this app. a set of words on a topic and then a sentence. There was no grammar before, but they didn't explain how to build them. It's just assignments that you can do however you want. When you do wrong, a text appears with an explanation. But it's better to explain first and then give assignments I thought this app would help me learn, but no. I took a German course at the same time, but what I learned there and in the app have nothing to do with each other.

### 1/5 — Scam!

*2024-06-06, version 63.0.0*

I bought the lifetime subscription and now they want me to pay again. They don’t have any option to communicate with them! Do not purchase this subscription it’s a scam!!!

### 1/5 — No customer service and scam

*2024-05-07, version 50.0.3*

Bought lifetime membership cook my money did not go though and they have never responded to my Customer service report

### 1/5 — They use AI art

*2024-03-20, version 47.1.1*

They use AI generated images for their app and all over their website.
I had my suspicions when I initially downloaded the app but wasn’t too sure since I couldn’t inspect the images closely but upon visiting their website and being able to zoom in on the images, it’s definitely AI art.
Different styles, resolutions, compression, weird blurring or random outlines on strokes. It’s obvious.
Do better please.

### 1/5 — What part of Beginner didn’t you understand?

*2024-03-17, version 47.1.1*

The visuals are truly beautiful. But as for starting out, you throw me out of the boat immediately on the first screen with no basics. Maybe that’s how toddlers learn, but not me. If I want to dive into the deep waters without swimming lessons I can just go to Germany and fumble along. For starters, they only speak a sentence one time, there is no repeat button, so if you don’t quite get the nuances, you’re out of luck. And no going back to begin again. Glad I didn’t waste any money.

### 1/5 — Bitte nicht täuschen lassen!

*2023-06-13*

### 1/5 — You can’t be serious! Sinä et voi olla vakava!

*2023-06-12, version 17.5.1*

In the Finnish course, under the word "lapsi" (child), the apps states:

"The noun lapsi in Finnish is in the third person singular, and is classified as a common gender noun."

Finnish nouns do not have grammatical gender. Nouns do not have an aspect of person (I, you, we, they, etc), only verbs do.

Under the word "nainen" (woman) the app states:

"The Finnish noun nainen is of the first declension, which means it is inflected for case, number, and possession"

Finnish doesn’t have declensions. All nouns in Finnish are inflected for case, number, and possession.

I know extremely little about Finnish but even I can identify glaring errors like these. Why would anyone pay money for an app that purports to teach languages while failing to understand the most basic concepts of those languages?

### 5/5 — Dialect options

*2025-10-23, version 72.0.5*

Please add dialectical options for languages like Spanish and Portuguese! I’d love to learn a more Latin American Spanish opposed to European.

### 5/5 — App is crashing when I import a wrong answer

*2025-09-27, version 72.0.3*

Currently the app is crashing when I input a wrong answer. I'm studying Russian. iOS 26 on an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

### 5/5 — i love it

*2025-03-26, version 70.0.3*

i love it

### 5/5 — latvian - misspelled words?

*2025-02-20, version 70.0.3*

this app is very good, however im pretty sure ‘sixteen’ and ‘sixty’ is ‘sešpadsmit’ and ‘sešdesmit’, not ‘sespadsmit’ and ‘sesdesmit’? unless im wrong.

### 5/5 — Unique and powerful features - not a fan of how they handled the upgrades

*2024-10-12, version 69.0.2*

I’m revising my original review as they’ve since included the Live section of the app in the same subscription and given access to Lifetime subscribers. This is great value now as the Live speaking and review options are truly world-class features. They’ve also significantly improved the Review feature. I massively respect the fact they listened to their users and are constantly making the app better. This app will now be a daily part of my language study routine. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Could you add Kazakh?

*2024-08-08, version 68.0.6*

I love the app. Have been using it for Russian. Wanted to request whether it is possible to add the Kazakh Language?

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-08-04, version 68.0.6*

Great app, I had some problems but they seem to be resolved. I look forward to getting back into it

### 5/5 — Très bonne application d’apprentissage

*2024-02-25*

### 5/5 — Kind of addictive

*2023-04-17, version 17.0.0*

I’m using the app to learn Swedish, and, as a product manager, it’s definitely an interesting app for me to learn with. I actually opened the app store to leave some feedback about the app, and saw that a brand new update was just released an hour ago - what a nice surprise! Even better, most of my points had been covered, some of them being: - The images - all of which are clearly AI generated, but the updated versions are definitely much better. Seeing so many extra thumbs was getting a bit distracting 😄 - Missing context - such as conjugation of certain words, and how they’re used in sentences. Some of this seems to be covered with the new update, but would love little insights on how things are done in specific countries the language is spoken in (see Mango Languages app) - Pronunciation guides - for languages where the pronunciation is trickier, would love to have more transcriptions with English letters (ie Sverige - Sveriye - Swedish) and not just offering the voice reading it - Pronunciation genders - if I can look through the cards to two genders pronounce words, why can’t it be done during learning? - Slower speaking - would be great to have an ability to hear speech in slower speed - Longer text - haven’t found this part in app yet, so it might not be there - but would love to see some courses with longer text.
- Accuracy. As others have mentioned, how can we trust OkyDoky’s language accuracy?
I don’t usually leave reviews - but this app was so addictive I wanted to leave some feedback on what could even make it better. I’m guessing some AI is probably being used in terms of the languages themselves, too, so I’m curious how much that can be stretched to provide extra learning context.
