### 4/5 — Ultimate convenience

*2026-05-26*

A convenient and simple way to operate your alarm. Easy to give house guests access by adding them to the app.
Can’t think of anything missing.

**Developer response:** Appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review, Rusbed.

### 4/5 — Works well but slow

*2026-05-15, version 2.0.19*

I have used Olarm for a number of years and is generally very good. Lately it has become very slow. Slow to open with biometrics, and slow to open the screen to set alarms

### 4/5 — Not working - Fixed by updates

*2026-01-22, version 2.0.17*

Later updates fixed all the devices that did not show up. It is a pity that support for JVA energizers are dropped in new hardware devices. There are many out there running on old round OLARM 4G PRO devices with special Firmware.

### 3/5 — Good app but so disparately needs a dark mode

*2026-01-20, version 2.0.17*

For an app that normally gets used a lot during the evenings (i.e turning an alarm on or off middle of the night to take your dogs out)it’s actually shocking that no dark mode is available. You are greeted with a light from a thousands suns each time you need to arm or disarm using this app. Come on gents, you’ve just delivered a successful v2 of the app with refreshed UI - surely dark mode should be a priority!

### 3/5 — Features

*2025-11-07, version 2.0.13*

Honestly great app but seriously why do I have to wait for the previous action to complete and I have to manually disarm everything can you please add a feature that disarms all sections with one click and arm all sections with one click instead of manually clicking every single one

### 3/5 — Older app version was better

*2025-11-05, version 2.0.13*

Ever since they did the app upgrade or re-skin the performance has not been as good

The app has often glitches where the main Home Screen just loads and loads

We had a situation in the middle of the night where we had just armed our house, an alarm was triggered but then we couldn’t disarm for 5 minutes because the app was just unresponsive

### 3/5 — 2.5* because it only works half the time

*2025-10-28, version 2.0.13*

Without a doubt, this is one of the most frustrating apps ever. It serves one purpose - and can’t get it right most of the time. It’s so frustrating that I’m literally looking to change my entire alarm system.

### 3/5 — New look, old problems

*2025-10-21, version 2.0.12*

The app received a whole new workover, but functionality wise nothing much changed. Still no shortcut to arm/disarm with Siri etc. even though I was told by Olarm "it is on our roadmap“, more than two years ago

### 4/5 — Issue with logging in

*2025-10-20, version 2.0.12*

What a wonderful app but I’ve recently upgraded to the 17 pro and it keeps logging me out, leaving me to log in each time I open the app… it can be rather frustrating when you’re in a rush.
This is happening to someone else I know also.
Hope it can be fixed

### 4/5 — 4 stars for now

*2025-10-03, version 2.0.11*

I really like your system — it’s reliable and the team behind it is great. That said, it would be even better if there were options to customize different modes. Right now, I often find myself doing a lot of actions manually throughout the day because the only real options available are to fully arm or disarm the alarm.

I understand that it’s possible to bypass certain zones, but in practice this is very tiring — I end up having to open and close them repeatedly throughout the day, which adds up to around 50 button presses daily. This makes the system feel unnecessarily complicated.

If it were possible to program custom modes — for example, creating my own setup instead of only using Sleep or Stay — it would make the experience much smoother and far more practical. At the moment, the biggest issue for me is that I can’t adapt the system to my daily routine, which is quite frustrating.

### 3/5 — Update

*2025-08-24, version 2.0.8*

New version works ok on my newer phone.

PW / biometrics not useful as visotors & children need to arm & disarm. Seems there’s a timeout after which one has to relog in. This should be a user opt out as it can happen when you need quick access.

Also, upgrades dont seem to take old versions of iOS into account, so it allows the update, but then does not work and no obvious way to backroll.

### 3/5 — disappointed with upgrade feature

*2025-08-20, version 2.0.8*

This new feature where by you have to sign in with biometrics or a password is not great. Kids cant turn alarm off with biometrics which they need to be able to do to access a panic if need and if you unable. And plugging in a password in a panic is NOT possible- especially a kid. Also it’s not safe arriving at a driveway if your biometrics is not activated and you then have to take your focus off your surrounding to input a tricky password. The signing in biometrics or password is all very well a “security” feature but one should be given the option to stay logged in. Most people have easy passwords on phone that it shouldn’t have to then do passwords and password to access a security feature. Also needed to turn alarm off due to an error and couldn’t just grab my husbands phone nearby to deactivate the alarm but had to go to the hunt for mine as he was not around to deactivate and my phone was in after part of the house. Like I say- an option to stay logged in should be provided - and that’s on the person who chooses to stay logged in.

### 3/5 — Fine but new version slow

*2025-08-16*

the new interface upgrade is slow to open up. Biometrics is great, but when trying to open app or deactivate alarm it takes long to log in. Often have to restart app or log in again

### 4/5 — Latest update

*2025-06-18, version 2.0.4*

App in general is fine. New layout is something to get used to. Panic is not as straightforward as it used to be.
Bigger issue is functionality that used to work like going from armed to stay or vice versa is no longer working. Now you have to disarm before you can go to stay. This is a issue for me.

### 4/5 — Current Update

*2025-05-30, version 2.0.1*

I love this app, I use it each and every single day. But I must say the new layout gives me a high level of concern. There is an additional step for the panic button/ emergency button and that just makes it feel like the button has less urgency. Having the button appear even before open the main screen was an awesome thing, because you could press the panic button even without any internet connection.

### 3/5 — Firmware issues

*2025-04-28, version 1.6.6-1*

My Olarm started acting weird, alarm going off in the middle of the night, unable to deactivate. I checked and there was a firmware update. Now whenever my alarm is acting up I check the firmware and there is always an update. So if you having issue check that. Olarm please do better.

### 3/5 — Olarm - critical alerts missing ‼️

*2025-02-09, version 1.6.6-1*

Great app, has all necessary features, however it is missing the critical alerts feature that notifies you with sounds and messages even when your iPhone / IOS device is on silent or do not disturb. Please enable this feature with IPhones. Ajax system has it available and it is crucial for a security system to prioritise this.

### 3/5 — Good features but Timer missing

*2024-12-30, version 1.6.5-2*

The app works well, is very fast reacting and gives good visibility of the alarm system (Paradox). But a timer function to set alarms is missing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2025-10-25, version 2.0.13*

First I got locked out of the app and hence my house because I couldn’t change my password without changing my login credentials - catch 22 deadlock.

Now the stupid authentication system logs me out every vokn hour so I never get alerts for alarms or notifications.

I tried to push the panic in an emergency and I had to re-login redo OTP’s and change my password in an emergency situation vokn brilliant brain power in building that feature.

Like when tf is your cyber security on your phone more important than the physical security of your physical house even if a hacker gets into my phone how are they gonna break into my vokn house.

Worst case an invader gets access to my Olarm (by simply searching for my house) and disarms the property while I’m sleeping which I wouldn’t even know because I don’t get alerts after the ‘courtesy’ logout.

Property Access Control > App Access control. Clear disconnect between your system designers and developers.

I would say after OTP verification you should just use the device password to optionally unlock app access, but it’s taken almost four years to get to the app to a usable point. Not sure how long that would take

### 1/5 — No alarm Trigger notifications after app upgrade

*2025-09-26, version 2.0.10*

I have the previous 2G model Olarm. Since I upgraded to the latest version, I no longer receive push noticiations when the alarm has been triggered. I only receive it when the alarm is switched on/off etc. Also no sound notification. This is a big issue as I am no longer notified of potential criminal activity at my Home.

### 1/5 — App has a new bug which logs you out

*2023-11-05*

App keeps logging you out intermittently.
Reporting to the team 3 times hasn’t resulted in a fix despite them saying the would resolve it 3 months ago. I haven’t had a reply for the two subsequent emails.

Major flaw if you need to hit the panic alert. Unfortunately, very bad customer service for a critical service.

### 1/5 — App keeps logging out

*2023-09-03*

The app works well when you are logged in. But it randomly logs you out which is not great on an app that is security related.

I’m on the latest iOS 16.6 and still get logged out randomly

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2023-01-27, version 1.3.4*

Just so difficult to connect when inside or outside the house - so much so it’s unuseable

And even if I can get logged in on the 10th attempt
It Will not arm / sleep -
So i would not rely on it for a panic alarm / but I have not had the occasion to try that function as yet !

### 1/5 — Pricing is stupid

*2022-09-28, version 1.3.4*

App is great. However, pricing is per user per device. So, my device is paid for 4 times for the 4 users and my parent’s device is paid for 4 times. This is ridiculous. Make me pay once for the app and load as many devices as I want! Its not as if they’re free!

I wanted to recommend this to my brother too, but making my 4 x payment a 6x, and adding yet another device to this is just plain stupid. No more recommendations from me (nor additional users) until you bring this under control.

Zero stars should be a possibility. I HIGHLY REGRET buying this device/app.

### 2/5 — Lagging is an issue

*2026-07-15*

It will show on my phone alarm is NOT activated, meanwhile it is, when I open door alarm goes off. Diff profiles do not sync you. I constantly have guests so it is an issue

### 2/5 — Red power icon

*2025-09-04, version 2.0.9*

In the recent update the app developer just changed the colour of a working AC power icon from green to red. No, explanations offered, no warnings, no faults on any of the systems I monitor, all just showing a red AC icon that used to be green. Loads of panicked running around to avert whatever crisis was causing it, sure, but nothing found except that it’s the same everywhere and in all cases the device’s AC status shows ON.

That’s not great, whether it was just a “meestake”, a quality control oversight, a poorly communicated or even ill-considered plan, it’s rather unprofessional and bad form.

### 2/5 — Issus with new app

*2025-08-14, version 2.0.8*

I've been using and installing a lot of Olarm devices since it was released, but the new app is a pain. The sites are listed randomly, so its a headache to get the correct one. The Alarm notifications don't direct you to the site where the alarm is going off when you click on it, and again you will have to ho through the list to find the right one. I manage about 17 sites on my app alone, so if they don't fix this to work properly, I will look at something else very soon. (this is basic functions which worked in te past)

### 2/5 — The update is not working properly.

*2025-06-26, version 2.0.4*

Sometimes I have to reopen the app several times before it works because it crashes or something upon initial opening. And sometimes it says the previous action has to be completed before a new action can be taken, but then it’s already been hours later. So the previous action was definitely already completed. It means it’s somehow glitching.
Please fix it. I wish I never let it update.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Operations Manager & Home Owner

*2026-04-04, version 2.0.19*

I find the App easy to use and notifies me immediately when my office or home alarm is activated, security companies are quick to respond and I am easily able to use the times of alarm triggers to watch CCTV from wherever I am to see what has triggered a zone to go off and respond within minutes.

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-10-07*

“Limited features” review is wrong. Olarm integrates easily with home assistant and all features can be controlled via HA.

The system is easy to install and the app is adequate for its purpose.

I’ve never had any random logouts. Maybe “limited features” should check his internet coverage.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-10-02, version 2.0.11*

Thanks for a great app. We got training from our security company on usage and features. Makes arming, bypassing, panic, editing and disarming very easy. Love the reminder to set the alarm in case we forget. It’s very useful to be able to nominate an extra user for when we go away and have no connectivity. We are very satisfied. M&M

### 5/5 — Fault after upgrade

*2025-07-12, version 2.0.5*

I use to be able to set my alarm onfor i stance stay 1 that is only linked to house doors whilst weare still moving around in the house. then when we finally went to sleep I was able to select Stay 2, full system arm except bedrooms. But since the upgrade I cannot do this stay change without fist disarming the alarm and then arming again with the difrent stay option. My alarm still functions correctly. The app have some kinda block now, not allowing me to do this anymore. Please have a look and corect it. Thank you
Other than this the app is Really a life saver.
Thank you

### 5/5 — Easy to set up and use.

*2025-06-22*

Very easy and reliable to control wherever I am in the world.

### 5/5 — Excellent system

*2024-12-13, version 1.6.4-4*

I’ve been using this system for possibly 4 years minimum. It never gives me any problems. Whether I’m in NZ, OZ or USA on holiday, I have full control of my alarm system at home…I love it.

### 5/5 — Overberg Approved

*2024-11-18, version 1.6.3-1*

Easy to use, gives you actual control of your alarm per device. Perfect for pet owners who needs a bit of flexibility when to arm and disarm certain areas and or just a single detector. Homes and businesses can take advantage of multiple users being able to it all remotely

### 5/5 — Olarm installed on old DSC alarm system

*2024-11-12, version 1.6.3-1*

Super easy to install and set up.
Graphic interface is easy to understand and use.
Very reliable.
Access from anywhere and we no longer need the dodgy old remotes.

### 5/5 — So easy to use

*2024-11-11, version 1.6.3-1*

Olarm is so easy to use, especially for giving others access to control the alarm. We have had no issues. My only request would be to enable more than one primary user.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-11-08, version 1.6.3-1*

This app has made interacting with my Alarm System far easier and more convenient.

The ability to manage your alarm from anywhere has really provided peace of mind.
