### 3/5 — A bit disappointing

*2022-07-12, version 1.1.5*

I’ll start out by saying that of course it’s gonna be hard to measure up to the expectations that come with nostalgia. The game does great in some areas. The noises are the same, the layout of the board is the same, the game’s mechanics work similarly. It’s good to play when you’ve got a few minutes.

That being said, the game leaves much to be desired in some areas. Whenever the game would normally award you an extra ball, you get nothing here. Text comes up saying that you got an extra ball but you never get one. Games are limited to 2 balls, or 3 if you watch an ad. The physics that this game uses is a little different than the original. The ball can get stuck in some places, the most frequent seeming to be by the black hole under the ramp on the left. When this happens the game just spawns a new ball at the top of the board.

My main thing is with the 2 ball limit with no way to get extras through gameplay. This really limits how far you can take the game, and when you can lose a ball through no fault of your own, the extra balls are an especially important mechanic.

### 3/5 — Good game

*2022-01-25, version 1.1.5*

This is an awesome game back in the day when it was on windows. But there are some noticeable issues like the ball seems heavy & sluggish & when you hit the ball into the ramp on the right side sometime it doesn’t shoot out but instead it just resets the ball at the top also at times the ball will perfectly fall directly in the center & you can’t even stop it with the flippers, I’ve lost plenty of high scoring game because of this issue. Also the two far left & right shoots behind the flipper should be removed

### 3/5 — An almost amazing throwback

*2022-01-07, version 1.1.5*

This game is a near perfect recreation of the old space pinball on windows back in the day. However, there is a major issue, when the ball goes into any of the wormholes at the wrong speed it will just get stuck there. No way to jolt the table and break it free, and there’s no reset ball button option or even a way to report the issue within the game. I would love to leave a 5 star review but this glaring issue can mean you’ve played several million points and then have to back out of the game, even with balls still left simply because there’s no way to fix this glitch. Fix this glitch and the review will go to 5 stars for sure.

### 4/5 — Only God gets 5 stars cuh

*2021-09-18, version 1.1.4*

This game is the same bad boy you knew back back in the day. All the sounds the lights and bonuses are still there. If you’re looking for nostalgia, you’ve found it.. for free!

Of course the only thing new and unfortunate thing is the presence of ads but that’s how they make money to eat so we just got to deal with it.

### 3/5 — Weird flippers and other stuff

*2021-08-09, version 1.1.4*

The physics can be wonky at times and it’s almost impossible to get the ball in the ramp unless it’s very precise. There is a little bump on the paddles as the ball goes down that affects the shot. It’s extremely irritating. Doesn’t feel like the ball is sliding down a board. It’s like it’s flying up and down in the air bouncing off things as it comes down.
If that makes sense.
Decent game but again irritating at times.

### 3/5 — Too many inconsistencies and bugs

*2021-07-16, version 1.1.4*

The inconsistencies are so frustrating in the game. How can the ball hit the same bumpers (any of them) and get a different forced lunch every time?
The flippers are inconsistent as well. In the original game I could get the ball to go just about anywhere I wanted, but if I hit the ball in the same place of the flippers, it could go just about anywhere.
one more thing: the bugs this game has is very annoying. If I can get the ball into one of any of the side holes, it’ll hop into anyone one. Or disappear & start back at the top.

Honestly, I would get rid of this game, but seriously, can the inconsistencies be fixed? I can’t beat my high score b/c of it. I can trust anything. It’s all luck. Which is not how the original game was. I miss all the sounds & the pleasure of finishing missions. I’m lucky if I can get 3 missions completed now.

### 3/5 — Good, but some things are off

*2021-05-24, version 1.0.8*

This is a good representation of the original that I used to play religiously on my old PCs. However, some of the bumpers are too strong, the flippers are not as reactive, and some of the physics are not the same as the original. It’s not as easy to hit repeat shots in this version, which is crucial for the missions. It would be nice to see it totally match the original version, but I applaud the developers all the same. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

### 4/5 — Fun during free time, but missing some elements.

*2021-02-24, version 1.0.8*

Overall, the app is a great way to kill some time with some nostalgic pinball action. That being said, there are a couple elements absent in this version that were prominent in the original, as well as a couple of bugs.

First, Replay Balls do not maintain your mission progress, something that they were known for in the original. It’s rather annoying having to start from the beginning despite having a Replay Ball ready.

Another would be certain sounds missing or getting cut off. For example, the Jackpot and Hyperspace Bonus sound effects are missing completely, and the sound effect as the ball is launched from the Hyperspace Kickout is cut off.

The ball also seems to catch the top Booster Target when launched from Hyperspacr Kickout, rather than cleanly launched at the left Flipper.

The game itself is fun, but definitely needs some fine tuning and patches.

### 3/5 — Read reviews please :)

*2021-02-16, version 1.0.8*

I love the game apparently there was an update and I notice it to.... I think it needs a little work but either way still a time killer..... if the game gets updated again I’ll probably purchase the app without the ads. Just saying that’s what people are looking for originality ;) also saying I still like it now. Could be more original/classic though on the next update!

### 2/5 — The same but different

*2021-01-04, version 1.0.8*

Love the nostalgia blast, but the physics are definitely off from the original and it seems more difficult to control and aim the ball. In addition, as others have mentioned, some of the bumpers seem overpowered.

It’s worth buying to avoid ads, this is a great game, but I’m not convinced that it can be played as well as the original until the physics get adjusted. If you are hoping for a 1:1 port, this is close, but not quite. Basically unplayable with ads imo.

### 3/5 — Can’t believe I found this game but...

*2020-11-20, version 1.0.8*

I can’t explain my excitement when I loaded this game to find it’s the exactly the same from windows’ 3D pinball space cadet. The music, the sounds are all the same. I haven’t played it enough to know of it feels rigged or not but from my many years of playing this game this version feels different. I’m not sure why. It doesn’t help that the flippers sometimes don’t work which causes me to lose the ball. I think that would make this at least a 4 star review.

### 3/5 — Mechanics are weird

*2020-09-28, version 1.0.8*

I loved playing this as a kid on the computer. I played it enough to know how it’s suppose to be function. Well on this mobile app version, I noticed it doesn’t play right and after reading the comments, I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees this. Bumpers don’t work right. It’s near impossible to control where you want the ball to go. I always try to get it through the re-entry part so I can do the missions. Well every time I go to activate a mission, I lose a ball. I love the game, it’s just not the same as when I played it as a child.

### 4/5 — Fix the left paddle!

*2020-09-06, version 1.0.8*

First off, I bought the game to support the development. It’s a great clone of the original pinball game we all grew up on. Great work.

Hopefully the developer reads this: Please fix the left paddle touch area. It fails to fire if pressed too far to the left. All of the other complaints others have had I can live with but this one is killing the whole game experience for me.

If you fix it, I will update this review to 5 stars immediately.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too many missing features

*2021-11-05, version 1.1.5*

I really wanted to love this app but there are just too many missing features, even on the paid version. Primarily there is no tilt and that really holds the game back. There does seem to be an unused phone “shake” icon that hopefully will be the tilt option later. Without it, though, some angles are completely unrecoverable.

This lack of a tilt is especially annoying as in a couple places on the playfield you can get the ball stuck with no way to continue your game.

Second, as others have mentioned, the physics are wonky and completely different from the classic version. The Windows version was very predictable with a little practice but I’ve been frustrated trying to get predictability out of this game.

Finally, some parts of the playfield don’t do anything when in the original game they earned points. Some of the expected sound effects are missing. All these missing things begin to add up.

This app is sooo close to being great. Put some more polish into it and I think you’d have something really special.

### 1/5 — Here’s the reason.

*2021-10-22, version 1.1.4*

This is a great game truly. But as an avid pinball player, you start with three balls. Always. You never not start with 3 balls. Everything else, fantastic. It’s a little laggy in some parts. Like on the left side it rolls slower and you can’t time properly to hit into tunnel. But. Everything else great. No actual complaints. Other than.... Why do you only start with one ball?! 3 Every time. I ain’t gonna watch a video for an extra one either. Start with 3 balls then I’ll play. Till then. Nah. It tried but it failed first moment. Good job, thank you for the nostalgia. But, this is pinball. 3 balls.

### 1/5 — Was good, now trash.

*2020-08-22, version 1.0.8*

This game a few months ago was perfect. It played exactly like the old game on PC. With current updates it plays like a gooey watered down version of itself. If you’ve ever played the original, you will likely find this updated version to be a waste of time. If you can get past that and enjoy the game, I’m happy for you, but I downloaded it and played it because it matched the old game but now it doesn’t. Also, when it updated, my high scores went away👍🏻 so the app is deleted from my phone until someone else remakes it as it was.

### 1/5 — I used to love this game! But...

*2020-07-14, version 1.0.8*

I used to love to play this, even though it had some bugs. But since the last big update a couple of months ago, it’s no fun any more. The physics don’t seem right, and it doesn’t have the feel of a mechanical pinball game like it used to. I can’t even get a mission, much less complete one. The flippers seem like they are way too powerful and aimed wrong. The ball goes way too fast, like it’s made of rubber or something. The flippers shoot everything straight upward, I can’t get into the side ramps no matter how hard I try. If it does go up a ramp by accident, it comes down straight in the middle and drains. No way to save it. Aside from losing the whole point of the game (the missions), it’s extremely difficult to do the weapon upgrades and totally impossible to get any bonuses or an extra ball. The flippers can’t bounce the ball back back up into the game any more, either. It used to feel like an old fashioned machine. That was why I liked it! What were they thinking? So disappointed in this “upgrade.”

### 2/5 — Unbelievable and embarrassing…

*2022-08-04, version 1.1.5*

That someone would spend so much time recreating so much of this original game but wouldn’t spend the necessary effort into making sure the game was actually functional. If you make a pinball game, then PLEASE make sure you make the flippers and the flipper physics work well and consistently! That aside, make the flippers work, period! In my game, the right flipper just plain freezes up completely, or lags by SECONDS - completely unplayable. The flippers are also completely inconsistent and the same launch will produce completely different results (many of them looking plain unrealistic).
Just so frustrating to be teased by something that looks and sounds like the perfect original, but instead just leaves you annoyed, frustrated and unsatisfied.

Please please fix this perfect wonderful little game!

### 2/5 — How do you manage to mess up pinball?

*2022-07-12, version 1.1.5*

As a pinball lover and above average player, I can tell you with certainty this game is not designed correctly. The flippers and overall ball physics are far from as they should be. The biggest problem with the game is the overly common occurrence of the ball falling right down the middle and leaving you hopeless, losing without a chance. Sure, it happens in pinball, but not anywhere near as common as this game is designed to make it out to be. I don’t know if it’s due to the size of the flippers or if the game is just designed to set the player up for failure, but seems like a failure from the development team of this app more than anything.

### 2/5 — OG Windows Edition > This edition

*2021-12-27, version 1.1.5*

If you download and play this game, you will start to figure out there are missions and stuff to do to get a higher score. BUT, if you’d like to do them, I would recommend uninstalling this and getting the windows edition. The original 3D space pinball has different physics than this game does, and many different features that this game doesn’t have to offer. Yes this game is fun, but if you are looking for a higher score, this game is actually pretty rigged. Look up the 3D space pinball .exe file and install it and play it on a computer. There are so many less bugs and it just works better than this does.

### 2/5 — Fix the mistakes

*2021-12-26, version 1.1.5*

I loved this game as a kid and I’m so happy I found the game on the App Store! However, there’s one HUGE mistake that this game makes that the original didn’t... when you complete a mission it stays until you lose all of your lives. In the mobile game as soon as you die, all of your progress is lost and it’s basically like playing another game all over again. PLEASE PLEASE fix this mistake! That’s what kept me from rating it 5 stars. Other than that, it’s pretty spot on with the original game which was super nostalgic

### 2/5 — Ridiculous Physics make it Impossible to Play

*2021-07-10, version 1.1.4*

If you want something only to occupy your brain for a couple minutes then this game is ok at best. If you actually want to play then it’s horrible. Every hit of the flippers, bumpers, or anything else is too hard. It makes it impossible to aim any hits or have any actual intention behind the play other than just hitting the ball around. It’s also incredibly inconsistent; if you hit the ball off a flipper at the same point 3 times in a row, it’s going to go 3 different places. It’s incredibly annoying with how much potential this app has if it was done right.

### 2/5 — Input Issues

*2021-02-28, version 1.0.8*

While the look and sounds offer a nice hit of nostalgia, the input response is lacking. Quite often I would find any time I would tap to activate a paddle the response was so delayed it would cause me to lose the ball. Not only this but it is inconsistent to the point if you try to anticipate the delay and it doesn’t happen you miss the ball because it responds properly. Rather disappointing as otherwise it seems like a solid remake of a classic game.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great game.

*2021-08-10, version 1.1.4*

Great game.
I love playing this. The only bad thing is the ball keeps wanting to go down the middle. I am a visually impaired player. Also, could you get a different version of the song for the game? That would be great. Love playing this. Could you also do games like the other three pinball tables? I’m talking about skulduggery, dragons keep, and the original space cadet pinball. Just thought I would ask.

### 5/5 — Updated? Works fine.

*2021-06-02, version 1.0.8*

I saw other reviews about how people said there weren’t some sounds playing and other little bugs. I was a little hesitant to download it for that reason, thinking it wasn’t gonna be run well, but to my surprise the game is honestly pretty good. All original sounds playing as they should. Big nostalgic vibes!

### 5/5 — A few minor tweaks to developer

*2021-04-21, version 1.0.8*

The missions should continue through the entire game, right now they only last through the one ball round; making it nearly impossible to complete all missions.

On the right target for the center post/extra ball/gravity field— it never goes to the lesser amount after time elapses.

### 5/5 — Nostalgic

*2021-02-21, version 1.0.8*

I remember playing this on my grandparents’ pc when I was about 8-12 years old. It was the first time I had played pinball ever. This is a surprisingly accurate modern remake. The 3D graphics make the game so much better, and the classic soundtrack and sfx really make me feel like I’m back at their house in 2008 again. Thanks for this.

### 5/5 — Not bad at all, from a 1996 space pinball vet

*2020-12-01, version 1.0.8*

The people playing this must be out of their minds, this is so close to the old thing and they should be grateful because I missed it so much. Game is a bit more forgiving in between the bumpers. Physics is not perfect compared to the old because of its seamless weight, but not offensive. Thanks for bringing it back, the only game I can play without feeling like I should be doing something more productive

### 5/5 — A good Rendition of a classic

*2019-10-04, version 1.0.7*

For anyone who remembered playing the Space Cadet 3D pinball that came with Windows 2000 or XP. This will scratch that nostalgic itch for playing it. All the sound effects and most of the table animations are there. The only thing is you can’t play with just the effects and not have the music playing. Without music this would be perfect as the original didn’t have music in it.

### 5/5 — THANK YOU!

*2019-08-16, version 1.0.7*

I have missed this game for so long! I used to play this on our home computer when i was a kid! Now I can play anywhere! Thank you so much! The sounds are original and on point! One thing i was to change, i want the option to turn the music off and still have the game sounds on. Cause the music isn’t original. But other than that! Thank you so much! The game is amazing! I love it

### 4/5 — A fantastic throwback! (With some room for small improvements from here)

*2022-03-13, version 1.1.5*

An excellent and very playable version of this classic. I love this so much! Everything looks and feels great, much like I remember. Reasonable in-app purchase to support the dev, none of that nickel and dime business.

As for the small improvement opportunities:

Landscape mode option would be fantastic, split screen for iPad with another app would go a long way towards restoring the original’s real intended purpose of being played on the side while you’r being “productive” with a spreadsheet or something.

Support for Magic Keyboard input. Mapping flippers to Z and ? While launching ball with SPACE would make this completely perfect!

### 4/5 — Mostly Great With a Few Annoying Glitches

*2021-11-29, version 1.1.5*

I was thrilled to see this game on a mobile app, and it mostly plays great. As mentioned in other reviews there are a few sound effects missing, and there are a few glitches that mar the experience a little. Sometimes the ball will disappear, which isn’t a big deal as it will reset up top. More problematic is that at least on my version, the right bumper sticks pretty frequently/has a delayed reaction. Secondly, it seems as though the game resets the mission progress on a lost ball, which I do not think should be happening. Hopefully easy fixes in future updates.

### 4/5 — A Fun Classic!

*2021-11-10, version 1.1.5*

I was reminiscing earlier today on my Windows XP days where I would spend a lot of my computer time playing this game, so I typed in “pinball games” on my app store thinking of this game but fully expecting it not to be on a mobile app store. But to my surprise, amongst a plethora of pinball games, I found this game I spent so much of my childhood playing. It’s not a perfect copy of the original desktop/PC game. It’s missing some key sound effects and the slightly more refined mechanics of the original game, but it’s still enjoyable and brings back good memories. My only other complaint, and the main reason I rate this four rather than five stars, is that the ads got annoying really fast. I understand why they’re on a mobile game like this, but they’re way too frequent and I’ve had them interrupt in the middle of me playing the game and not just in between games. Other than those issues, which I hope can be tweaked or fixed, I’m glad I downloaded this gem of a game.
