I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for one main reason—I’ve noticed quite a few of the episode descriptions are way off the mark of what the episode is about. While not a big deal, when I want to find particular ones that I’m a fan of and want to listen to again, it’s a bit annoying that the descriptions are off. Fortunately, episodes can be downloaded. Other than that, one of the better OTR apps in the market. ### 4/5 — Finally. A worthy update. *2025-11-06, version 2.1.0* It was a long time coming but the major program update is very nice. A lot of feature requests were addressed. I am not sure if there is more content as well but the feature set is worth it. Thank you. There is still a lot of content that could be added. Get that up to date and a solid five stars. Also night mode ### 4/5 — Love the app, however *2024-10-12, version 2.0.2* How about putting the shows in alphabetical order? ### 2/5 — Not the most accessible using Voiceover screen reader *2024-04-21, version 2.0.2* I am blind, and use Voiceover screen reader, and unfortunately, your app does not have properly labeled buttons. The only one that I can tell is labeled is the play/pause button. Other than that, Voiceover just says, "button" and I have to press each one to find out what it does. The one next to the Play button, if I recall, is the one to restart the show, ... that's not the best place for that button. Also, your progress bar is not accurate, I can't scroll to a part in the episode, it is all wrong in the percentage it shows me. ... so while the selection of shows looks promising, the interface could use a lot of work to make it more accessible/user-friendly to all who wish to hear OTR in a modern way. ### 4/5 — Let's Go Back In Time *2023-12-07, version 1.9* This is a good app if you like OTR. The only issue I have with the app is there should be a lifetime membership so I don't have to pay every year. Like the other review says there are plenty of other free ways to listen to these shows. I paid the 8.49 three month subscription during the free trial but after the three days it said my subscription expired. So, no three months that I paid for! I emailed them and got no response. It has changed to 1 star because of the app asking for money to listen to this stuff. Why is this happening? There are plenty of shows but to pay to play this stuff? I renewed using version 1.9 and now the app only works on the device I used to pay for the renewal. It now wants me to pay for a separate subscription for each device. A beautiful interface but it lacks in so much basic functionality that it’s a major pain. I will not repeat what others have said. Their Facebook page is full of unfulfilled promises and loaded with complaints. Many of us keep it only because of the volume and variety. If someone would make something with everything here no one would subscribe to this ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY THIS APP *2021-10-04, version 1.8.1* DO NOT BUY IT. Unfortunately, while the interface for this APP is relatively attractive, once you get past the surface, there are various flaws which render it very user unfriendly. Chief among theses, as has been pointed out by many reviews here, is the fact that you can’t mark anything has having been listened to and/or completed. Without keeping your own personal records, you can easy get lost trying to resume a program or series. Other OTR Apps offer this service, but for whatever reason, this one doesn’t and has steadfastly refused to update with that feature. Why pay for something that you then have to manually supplement yourself? Following that you have misfiled shows, missing episodes not marked, playback skips which exclude whole episodes, lots of misspellings, etc. To sum up: This APP stinks. DO NOT BUY IT. ### 1/5 — Basic feature missing.. *2021-06-01, version 1.8.1* Can you believe there is no way to mark “episodes played” What!? How basic. So you need to memorize every show you played and where you left off. Wow. It needs all of my old time. Radio needs. I have used this app for years now and overtime. It has gotten better as a visually impaired user it used to be very inaccessible, but now that problem has been fixed. I have no problems with voiceover anymore using this app the only thing that I would suggest like many others have suggested in the past is that there are lots of shows that could be added other than that I think it is great and I think the features you have added overtime are wonderful. The Old Time Radio app languished (technically) for a long time and old reviews are bringing down the current rating in 2026. What has changed in the last six months makes this a whole new app. The Developer has fixed most, if not all, of the technical issues folks complained about in the past and has added a whole new interface design. This is now the collection that, I believe, offers the largest selection of shows matched by the best functionality necessary to access and enjoy them. It’s Absolutely amazing how many shows are on this one app! I am very pleased and I listen to it everyday! My daughter is a huge fan of Father Knows Best, and my wife loves Drag net. And I love the westerns. If I could suggest one minor upgrade, If the developers could find away to mark the shows that we have listen to.
