### 3/5 — Not bad but could be better

*2023-05-16, version 2.51.0*

It would be nice if we could see datasheets for our whole army with the selected wargear like we can on BattleScribe, but it’s great having access to the core rules and all of our owned codexes

Would also be nice if it had Boarding Patrol for army building and Killteam

### 2/5 — Requires latest iOS

*2023-04-21, version 2.51.0*

I would like to get the app but can’t download it because it requires iOS 15, this means I need one of the newer iPhones and I can’t, it would be nice if these apps would be compatible with older iOS systems as it just blocks the app from some users, I will just stick to battle scribe because it works on older operating systems and (according to some other reviews) actually works

### 2/5 — It doesn’t do what it’s designed to do

*2023-04-19, version 2.51.0*

Honestly, such a missed opportunity. Basic errors in list construction ignored for years… okay for looking up rules. List building… just use BattleScribe or pen and paper.

### 2/5 — Bugs

*2023-04-18, version 2.50.0*

Upgrades in units don’t have points

### 2/5 — Für den Preis nicht zu empfehlen

*2023-03-13*

### 2/5 — No actual iPad app

*2023-03-11, version 2.47.0*

I can’t believe that GW have released an app that costs this much monthly and they’ve not even bothered to make it run natively on an iPad. BattleScribe manages it and that’s free!

### 2/5 — Want to love it

*2023-03-09, version 2.47.0*

What more can I say. Been subscribed for a hot minute now. Pretty much since the app launched. It got better slowly but going from PDFs to a more natural setting wasn’t much of an upgrade.

Arks of omens drops, calls for specific boarding patrol detachment, two months later there is still no support for boarding Patrol detachments in Battle Forge.

It’s disappointing to say the least, and makes it incredibly difficult to recommend to anyone. Especially considering the vast majority of the content is locked behind paywalls. I really feel sad about this. I want better for this franchise I love

### 2/5 — NO iPad Version after 2 years

*2023-02-16, version 2.46.0*

The application itself is cumbersome and not very intuitive. It lacks support for larger screens such as iPads and tablets in general, where it would find its natural environment. Yet developing a tablet version would be really quick and inexpensive in terms of human resources. Considering the cost of the subscription, it would be necessary to remedy this as soon as possible. As a subscriber, I am really disappointed.

### 2/5 — Issues with Harlquins

*2023-02-14, version 2.46.0*

Hello,

Since the last rules pack was released, you can’t ad any elite choices to a Harlequin Detachment. No jesters or solitaires.

Please fix it!

### 1/5 — Money grab, don’t use

*2023-02-13, version 2.46.0*

Paid to access locked content. Now I find out there are more pay walls linked to codex’s. Also I still find it easier to just use BattleScribe and Warpedia when gaming with mates. What a missed opportunity to make it easier for customers to engage with the hobby.

### 1/5 — Feb 12 2023

*2023-02-12, version 2.46.0*

Another software update and still not functional. I’ll continue to provide updates and single star reviews until this app is working. You owe your customers a refund.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2023-02-11, version 2.46.0*

The app was barely functional to begin with and now you expect people to pay to use it? Just another move from GW to alienate the users later base.

### 2/5 — Good, but why not iPad friendly?

*2023-02-11, version 2.46.0*

If this was IPad friendly I’d subscribe to in a drop of a hat if it was iPad-able.

### 1/5 — Lamentable aplicación

*2023-02-10, version 2.46.0*

He retomado mi hobby de pequeño, me ha comprado los códex y suplementos de v9, me he suscrito mensualmente y aún así me dice que tengo partes bloqueadas. Sin duda lamentable 🤬. No recomendada.

### 1/5 — Literally cannot make an army

*2023-02-06, version 2.45.1*

Every time I try and make an army it freezes when I’ve got half way through sorting out the detachments. It’s infuriating it would be a good app if it freaking would work!

### 1/5 — A service problem

*2023-02-04, version 2.45.1*

Thankfully I only paid for a month. How can a paid service be so completely and utterly horrible in comparison to a certain free website. Browsing this app is unintuitive and clunky.

You still need to buy a physical codex I’m order to see the faction rules.

I typically dislike people that whinge about the cost of a niche hobby. This is the first time I feel GW truly are taking advantage of their customers.

### 1/5 — Still no Arks detachment

*2023-01-30, version 2.45.1*

Battleforge is unusable. The Arks of Omen detachment is still not showing up, even after updating and multiple reinstalls. All that shows is the old non-usable detachments. Also there is no way to report this issue or tried to get it resolved. Thankfully battlescribe exists.

### 1/5 — Catastrophique et pourtant payant !

*2023-01-29*

### 1/5 — I want to love this app

*2023-01-25, version 2.44.0*

Every time I try to log in, it says something about “Nurglings in the system”. Tried to reset my password and it just sends me an email taking me back to the “Nurglings in the system” page. SUPER frustrating.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Locked data

*2024-06-17, version 2.52.0*

I downloaded this app only for it to continue to always push for the subscription. I’ve also unlocked a 40K codex for use in this app, for it to always display the data in that codex as locked. I contacted the support team about my codex not being available and going through all the steps they suggested for it still be locked. In comparison The Age of Sigmar app shows my AoS codex perfectly fine.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2024-03-08, version 2.52.0*

Simply will not load

### 1/5 — Robbers

*2023-08-09, version 2.52.0*

I cannot resign from monthly subribtion, they are robbers, please discord the app from
The store.

### 1/5 — Games Workshop Oopsie

*2023-06-15, version 2.52.0*

One of the main reasons I recently started playing 40k is because of its physical presence. Hand painted models, rulers, dice, terrain, etc. all are best done being real objects. Why do the rules need to be so separate from everything else?
Im confused why Games Workshop feels the need to make the rules digital... It's probably cheaper but I would prefer to pay more for a physical copy.
If I wanted a digital game, I would play video games, not board games.
There definitely could be a world were there are physical and digital rules. We live in the world with a stinky mobile app unfortunately.

### 1/5 — Awful experience compared to the AOS app

*2023-04-30, version 2.51.0*

Every aspect of the app requires a subscription including the data sheets if you’re interested in using an app for aiding in gameplay I suggest just playing AOS instead as the app is better and all the base rules are free, no subscription whatsoever even mentioned

### 1/5 — Still crashes every time you try to change Ork weapons.

*2023-03-15, version 2.48.0*

Every time you try to change weapons on Ork Deff Dreads the app just crashes. You make the last maximum weapon choice on the unit and then the app crashes and won’t even allow you to access that unit profile load out section without crashing. This bug was in the app before, about two years ago, and it still persists. Exactly what are the patches and updates even for when the basic function of the app is hobbled by bad programming?

### 1/5 — awful ipad interface, useless for tournaments or playing the game

*2023-03-01, version 2.47.0*

awful ipad interface. it is the iphone interface. it takes up the entire screen but only utilizes about a third of a screen with what looks like the iphone version. It is missing large chunks of the game, data sheet rules are generally out of date, armies of renown are missing with no way to add them even if you own the white dwarf. No dice rolling functionality. It is incredibly slow. you have to click through multiple screens to find the information you need.

You can’t even split screen the app to run a dice roller or have something else open while using the app.

### 1/5 — How is the app still this bad?

*2023-02-28, version 2.46.0*

It’s been how long now? Surely you think minor things like missing units or special characters not being available to successor chapters would be fixed by now, but nope. Here we are and still can’t get a functioning army builder. Why do we have to pay for this again?

### 1/5 — App won’t even start up on latest version of ios

*2023-02-21, version 2.46.0*

Keeps spitting out a ‘nurglings in the system, please try again’ error.

After a week of trying I just uninstalled the app without ever having used it.

### 1/5 — Can’t even open

*2023-02-19, version 2.46.0*

Can’t even get past the “continue to app” screen….

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great for me

*2023-03-23, version 2.48.0*

Not sure about all the bad reviews, app is simple but works well.

### 5/5 — It’s good I don’t know what all the fuss is about

*2022-11-28, version 2.42.0*

If you’re already paying for Warhammer plus then this app is great. I see a lot of negative comments but I haven’t had that problem experience.

AoS app is also great.

### 5/5 — Not bad, not great

*2022-11-26, version 2.42.0*

For a app the works with the codecs you have bought and list building I think this is an amazing app. Down side to it is that it does feel more like a beta then a alpha launch. Haveing access to many different items and lists are amazing. Having it part of warhammer+ is worth it. Honestly only app I use when playing 40K. Not worth it for kill team even though it should be

### 5/5 — Only thing missing is Kill Team

*2022-06-12, version 2.29.0*

This app has so much potential. I can easily reference any rule book or codex in print and keep track of my armies. I realize that this app is still a work in progress but the $5 sub fee for the Warhammer+ experience is well worth it considering the physical books average around $30-$50+ each.

As the title of my review states, the only thing really missing are the Kill Team books and army builder feature. Kind of irritated that the Kill Team app that came out in 2019 is no longer available in the meantime though.

### 5/5 — Its good

*2021-10-22, version 2.12.1*

Its the oficial app it is good

### 5/5 — It’s come a long way

*2021-04-16, version 2.2.1*

The warhammer app is now the best way to build lists and quickly reference data sheets while playing a game of 40k. Relics and warlord traits are still a bit fiddly to see the rules for, but this if more than offset by having the one place that includes the latest points and errata wordings, and saves you having to lug around codexes and rule books!

### 5/5 — Please James Workshop STOP

*2021-03-30, version 2.2.0*

Love the app, think
It’s actually pretty damn good with all the content and the army builder is exactly what I’ve wanted in an army builder for so long, just one issue

Please stop deleting the armies I make after you the update the app, please.

### 5/5 — Some optimism

*2021-01-21, version 2.0.4*

If everyone could quit dumping on this app that would be great. It accomplishes a lot that we’re looking for. I am able to build a list of my army and access my information on my phone. There are certainly some points that could be fixed. For example a bug that adds 33 points to my army that doesn’t belong or not being able to use my iPad sideways. But this is a great starting point to eventually a great app that has everything we’re looking for. Now relax and let them improve it.

### 5/5 — Great💯

*2020-12-26, version 2.0.3*

I love this app it’s perfect but I just wish it would also go for the play store to but other then that it is good all the other reviews say it “trash” and “garbage” but it would be better if you invest in this because you can get everything for only 4.99 a month just paying for 10 months is about the same as buying the whole codex and if you always want to get the latest codexes it always updates. I do honestly recommend this app.😁

### 5/5 — Ignorant reviews

*2020-12-24, version 2.0.3*

Almost every negative review is laden with incorrect information and judging the state of the Battleforged feature while it is in a public test (beta) phase.

Like with anything there is room for improvement and improvements have been made steadily since release. The army builder is very promising and has been updated frequently since the launch of it’s beta. Based on its functionality and performance so far I absolutely can say I will be using this exclusively for army building once it is in full release.
