### 1/5 — No longer works

*2023-10-17*

After last update, app not working.

### 1/5 — New update is broken!

*2023-10-16*

The app worked great until the latest update. I can no longer connect to any of my obulbs. I might try and unpair them from my app and start over.

### 1/5 — Your light does not need the internet.

*2023-10-03*

A light should not need; an account, your location, and an internet connection to work!!! This light is pitched as something that can work outdoors, away from civilization where you go to get away things like an always on internet connection. And location services? This is only here to profile their customers (probably for targeted advertising) and has no place in a product of this nature. There are some benefits to the app. I love the idea of giving devices more functionality without having to use weird button combos that you will never remember. Also, controlling a group of lights with a local mesh network is also a very cool idea. Unfortunately it does not offset the drawbacks.

### 1/5 — Olight please…

*2023-09-30*

I love your products but this experience has me thinking I may look else where as the app is just terrible. It’s a shame as I have bought well over 50+ of your products.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2023-08-08*

The hardware has potential to be really good, but to be really good the software is extremely important.
This app is pretty sad. It’s like an afterthought, that I expect to be forgotten about once Olight comes out with their next product.
The app allows you to do some things, but just barely.
It would be nice to program what light options the bulb runs through.
It would be nice to have more programmable colors and patterns.
The hardware is great, but it can’t shine unfortunately due to lackluster software.

### 1/5 — No single color except white? What??!!

*2023-07-22*

I have an obulb pro that I use in green steady non-flashing as a night light. I control it with the app.
I just bought an obulb pro s because I couldn’t find the obulb pro. Sadly it was a mistake. You can’t have a single steady color except white… no green or red or blue or anything unless they are flashing or doing patterns of light color changing or syncing to music even. I can’t even control it with the same app!!!!!! I had to get a different app to control this one. I’m probably going to return it. This definitely needs work. Two different apps…. No steady color other than white… all of the coke changing modes move WAY TOO FAST. You can’t slow them down so unless you’re having a party or something this is useless. I was really needing a second light on the other side of the room. Not a carnival light gimmick.

### 1/5 — Wont work without network connection?

*2023-06-16*

I am an avid camper/outdoorsman. The now older obulb pro has become an essential part of my kit whether I weekend camp at an established campground or spend weeks on a completely off grid trip at least 50 to 100 miles away from any cell service. By far this apps greatest downfall for me is its inability to work without a network connection. I had envisioned using the new pro and plus bulbs (I purchased 6 of each) on every trip to “magically” light the campsites while being able to use this app to seamlessly control all of them simultaneously. That is most definitely not the case. If you do not have a solid internet connection you will not be able to use this app… looks like Ill stick to the older app and pro bulbs for my more demanding adventures.

Side note, there is no real “group control” unless you create your own “if then that” function for every single detailed change you would want to make. Making a simple brightness adjustment for 12 bulbs is an absolute annoyance.

### 1/5 — Program forgets the lights after 24 hours

*2023-05-16, version 1.0.2*

Program forgets the lights after 24 hours, (I never turn off phone or iPad) when reconnecting it assigns new numbers to the lights, I have 2 lights so the app has renumberd them each time 1,2 then 3,4 then 5,6 ext. this should only be done once, this app is useless👎

### 1/5 — Obroken

*2023-04-29, version 1.0.2*

For some reason this app is collecting data. Red flag. Then the automation settings don’t work at all.
O No

### 1/5 — Just bad performance

*2023-04-27*

It’s a buggy mess.
I have 2 brand new Obulb Pro S’s

Charged to 100% full the app shows one at only 88%
Then next minute it’s at 60%

Constant problems with connecting and controlling the Obulbs (no matter where I am inside or outside the house)
When in group they behave even stranger. Already sent one Obulb back as faulty due to the battery dropping rapidly overnight.

Now I don’t know if the app is faulty or the Obulbs themselves. But I can’t rely on it for any kind of accurate battery measurement.

Disappointing

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless App - Stopped Connecting To aobulbs

*2024-07-22*

This app used to work flawlessly but now it doesn’t work and I can’t control my Obulbs.

Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — It’s basically a 1 time use app

*2024-04-29*

I love olight products but this app is the most unreliable app I’ve ever used.. it works great one time… and then it will not reconnect to the device again until you delete the app and reinstall it again

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2024-04-18*

Frequently fails to connect to bulbs. I echo the complaint about lack of solid color choices. Automations often fail to work.

### 1/5 — Why do I need an account

*2024-04-16*

Why do I need an account and an app that tracks my PPI, just so I can control a light I paid $80 for? Respect your customers.

### 1/5 — Agree with Cheesy_Crouton - stopped working

*2024-03-31*

I’ve upgraded from an iPhone 11 ProMax (which the app worked fine on) to a 15 ProMax and now I can’t get my 2 No. Obulb Pro S lights to connect. I won’t be buying any more OLight products if they abandon products as quickly as this. Not happy.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever.

*2024-03-27*

Worst app ever, never works right. Buy a different product with a different interface, a better interface.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect to obulb plus

*2024-02-27*

App used to work, but bizarrely, it stopped connecting to my obulb plus. I’ve tried to delete the device and reconnect and whilst it recognises that there is an obulb plus in pairing mode, I get an error message saying ‘failed to add the device’. For a little light where the key benefit is being able to use it through the app, this is laughable - do better!

### 1/5 — Shouldn’t have to log in

*2023-12-26*

For a simple app to control a light, you shouldn’t have to log in to an obulb account. I really don’t want to be tracked.

### 1/5 — Don’t work

*2023-12-23*

Bulb stopped working after 2 weeks and olight support never helped.

### 1/5 — Broken App

*2023-10-18*

Last update totally broke the already deficient app. Please fix it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Don’t listen to other people

*2024-02-05*

This is a much better version of the previous app. Love it as well as my 3 Obulb Pro S!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2024-01-04*

This app works great! It is much better than the first app they put out.

For all you “avid” outdoorsmen… maybe you should learn how to use technology before you write a bad review. The app works great if you know what you are doing. I love the outdoors just as much as anyone which means I don’t need my phone with me all the time!!!! You can control the light with… THE LIGHT, too. Using your phone isn’t the only option.

And… READ before you write. You can select different colors using the app. There are a lot of party modes that can be used but just click the color wheel and select whatever color you want.

I wrote this review to combat these bad reviews. Olights work great and so does the Olight Hub.

I do wish you didn’t need to have an internet connection to use the app, but that doesn’t warrant a one star review.

### 5/5 — Super easy to set up and use

*2023-12-25*

I have Olight obulb plus very fast and very easy set up. Many great options for these bulbs and app. We have ours set up hidden and use as back lighting with easy on off from the phone.

### 3/5 — great but not good when off grid

*2023-11-15*

Works great with a internet connection but when off grid you can’t manage multiple Bulbs as the automation requires a internet connection (i.e. managing multiple oBulb pro S) which is a bit silly for a simple light bulb, must be costing oLight a bit in cloud consumption costs too - Please fix :)

### 3/5 — Presets

*2023-04-28, version 1.0.2*

It be more useful if I could have presets in app or better yet change button operations.

### 2/5 — Needs an update.

*2024-10-01*

Spheres have trouble connecting. Especially when trying to control a group.

### 2/5 — Could be better

*2024-01-27*

Every time I go out of the app for a period of time and come back in, it can’t connect to my light. I have to force close the app every time and re open it, which is a nuisance.

### 2/5 — Presets

*2023-10-03*

It be more useful if I could have presets in app or better yet change button operations.

### 2/5 — Needs fixes

*2023-05-20*

Some complaints with the bulb but mainly its the color options. There needs to be a way to slow it down and choose color patterns.

### 2/5 — Ok

*2023-05-10, version 1.0.2*

The flame one is cool but uhhhh it's 100% red bro. You know flames are mostly yellow with little orange? App needs to be able to change colors and speeds on modes
