### 2/5 — Have to pay

*2026-09-05, version 3.43.0*

Paying to receive healthy options that I can just google is crazy. Just use yuka.

### 2/5 — Can’t scan unless in pantery

*2026-09-02, version 3.42.0*

Why is this a think I paid and want to scan right away

### 2/5 — Stop with the ads for GLP!!!

*2026-08-29, version 3.42.0*

Used to be an amazing app that gave you actual insight into products with the analysis section. They recently changed that section to always lead up to an ad for GLP-1, no matter what product you look into. They sold out and it’s extremely disappointing to see. I would far prefer other ads on the app (between searches for example) to their constantly advertising for GLP-1 on every single product. Go back to the old Olive, im sick of this dumb propaganda
Update: their response just doubled down on pushing GLPs lol. You had a good thing going and youre actively ruining it congratulations i will not be renewing my subscription. Hope the GLP ad money was worth it. Lost the plot

### 2/5 — Really push their peptides on you

*2026-08-26, version 3.41.0*

I wanted to love this app but every time I go to the explanation on why something scored the way it did, it’s always a sales pitch on why I should buy their GLP-1 or another peptide. I also wish there was a way to turn off the diary prompts every time I open the scanner. I don’t want to fill out those questions just for them to try to push the peptides again. Not to mention the scanner has only worked half the time in the grocery store. Hard to trust an app when it tried to sell you something at every turn

### 3/5 — App is good but camera doesn’t work

*2026-08-25, version 3.40.1*

The meal camera works but my shelf and single item scan doesn’t

### 1/5 — Expensive

*2026-08-24, version 3.40.1*

showed 29.99 for the yearly price yet i was charged 54.99 not even a month of having the app. so absurd.

### 1/5 — “Free” paid trial

*2026-08-23, version 3.40.0*

Charged me for free trial with no refund after cancelling membership, tried to fear monger me into signing up again by claiming the day after the “membership” expired by sending a notification that something scanned had now been recalled. I am pregnant and all these FDA recalls are terrifying, how horrible of you to try and use that to make me pay again. That’s sick.

### 1/5 — Annoying to Test

*2026-08-23, version 3.40.0*

Nothing worse than having to answer a bunch of questions with no way to skip and end with the only option is a free trial that still needs payment on file. Just wanted to try the app without the nonsense first.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2026-08-22, version 3.38.1*

The whole app looks like it’s run by others uses ai and if I’m honest they have a small selection of items they need to expand to new products as well as do accurate reviews of them. They mark them red and say avoid if they haven’t researched instead of saying pending or underdevelopment. They also review things differently you will have to do your own research. Personally I would want to see more clean brands that have to do with wipes, diapers, skincare, hair care, and cleaning products it’s mainly food which is understandable but it never hurts to expand their horizon. Overall wish they could fix the pictures, expand to other products and properly review products.

### 1/5 — Predatory gross business practices - avoid

*2026-08-22, version 3.38.1*

Read the fine print!! The seven day free trial is actually only six days. You have to cancel 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.

Not only that, but despite having lower cost monthly subscriptions available they charge you for a FULL YEAR if you don’t cancel in time.

There’s no need for this, they could just have the free features stop working after seven days instead of charging people. The least they could do is be up front and clear about exactly when and how to cancel and encourage you to screen shot it before agreeing to the trial.

Even after paying a high fee, they still embed GLP-1 ads for you to open throughout the app disguised as opportunities to “learn more” about a food ingredient.

This app could be great if the company genuinely cared about honesty/ethics as much as $$$. I won’t be subscribing again. Not that they care, because they have built their business on scamming new people into paying instead.

### 1/5 — Wanted to try an app, lost $75 instead.

*2026-08-21, version 3.38.1*

In the times were in $75 is a is better used elsewhere. I wanted to try app, started a trial, did not even use the app once, and then had $75 taken out of my account for a year i’ll never use. Stick to doing your own research!

### 2/5 — Stop with the ads for GLP!!!

*2026-08-20, version 3.38.1*

They recently changed that section to always lead up to an ad for GLP-1, no matter what product you look into. They sold out and it’s extremely disappointing to see. ### 1/5 — Paywall

*2026-08-19, version 3.38.1*

This app wastes your time setting up a comprehensive profile before hiding everything behind a paywall. I shouldn't have to pay for a subscription just to know if my food is killing me.

### 1/5 — $

*2026-08-18, version 3.38.1*

Onboarding was ridiculous only to have a cost… back to yuka

### 3/5 — If you want to waste money

*2026-08-18, version 3.38.1*

Yet another subscription based “service” that you can google for free

### 2/5 — New update

*2026-08-17, version 3.38.1*

I want this app to scan food and not ask me how I’m feeling make it where I can turn this feature off!

### 2/5 — Horrible

*2026-08-15, version 3.38.1*

This app makes up random numbers a snickers bar got a 58/100 while pumpernickel bread got 0. When i tried cancelling the app it didnt show the proper subscription tag now im unsure how to cancel the subscription to an app that DOESNT HELP!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Free trial is a scam

*2026-09-07, version 3.43.0*

I was told I was getting a 3 day free trial, however when I signed up, I was immediately charged $28 for an annual subscription with no free trial, and Apple denied my dispute request. Complete scam.

### 1/5 — Membership

*2026-09-07, version 3.43.0*

Very difficult to cancel membership. Still waiting for a response.

### 1/5 — They take your money!

*2026-09-06, version 3.43.0*

I download the app and I was offered a 14 day free trial, have used the app twice and a today a week later I got charged over $50 for an annual subscription!!! Im so upset they tricked me and took my money I want my refund and I’m cancelling my subscription, why would I want an annual subscription for something I have barely used ??? UPDATE: I tried cancelling the membership and it won’t even give you the fkn option in the app, SO WHAT THE HLL????

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-09-05, version 3.43.0*

Can’t even get passed the “refer a friend get a 14 day trial”

### 1/5 — Off to a bad start!

*2026-09-03, version 3.42.0*

The first item it’s said to swap without a prompt from me is Lays potato chips for Siete brand. Siete was not only bought out by big manufacturers but was also exposed for having seed oils in the so called “healthy” avocado oil. Not a good recommendation. Hope it doesn’t keep up this way.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-09-02, version 3.42.0*

It’s not free, but comes with a fee that is not disclosed. Apple should require the fee to be posted in the store. Very deceptive app. Deleted

### 1/5 — SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THE APPSTORE FOR VIOLATING SAFETY

*2026-08-30, version 3.42.0*

I’ve seen multiple products where the scoring is clearly incorrect. For example, some chip brands like Cheetos I’ve seen receive scores as high as 93 despite being loaded with additives. This app shouldn’t score additives in a way that makes them seem like minor concerns, and especially not give high ratings to items like Flamin Hot Cheetos Poffs.

When I questioned the AI about these scoring errors, it told me that it would flag the item for review. However, when I asked for more information about the flagging process, the AI contradicted itself and admitted that it doesn’t actually have access to flag or report items.

I understand that AI can make mistakes, but it shouldn’t claim that it performed an action when it has no ability to do so. Between the inaccurate scores and the AI giving me misleading information about reporting errors, I don’t feel like I can trust the app’s ratings.

### 1/5 — JUST LET ME USE APP

*2026-08-27, version 3.41.0*

I’ll keep YUKA
Before you can even use the app to ask you a bunch of questions that for me were completely irrelevant and personal so I deleted it before I ever got a chance to use Like bro just let me use the App stop gate keeping to get my personal info.

### 1/5 — Scammed

*2026-08-25, version 3.40.1*

Edit:why would I emaiI the same exact person who’s been ignoring my emails for over a month? Already filed my claim and report.

I paid for the full year and was still locked out of my features that should have unlocked. I have been emailing for a month now about refunding my account over 8 emails and still nothing. Be careful….they will not response.

### 1/5 — Predatory gross business practices - avoid

*2026-08-25, version 3.40.1*

Update: the developer response did nothing to address these concerns. They just shift the accountability to Apple to manage their subscriptions and act as if they couldn’t possibly do something else to better support customers.

Why not give reminders about how much time is left to cancel right in the app? Make it easier? Because you want people to forget and have to pay you! That’s predatory and ableist, no way around it.

Read the fine print!! The seven day free trial is actually only six days. You have to cancel 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.

Not only that, but despite having lower cost monthly subscriptions available they charge you for a FULL YEAR if you don’t cancel in time.

*2026-09-02, version 3.42.0*

It’s rare to find ethical companies now a days, thank you Xander

### 5/5 — WAY BETTER THAN YUKA

*2026-08-25, version 3.40.1*

Do not get Yuka it sucks olive is way better

### 5/5 — Is it Free?

*2026-08-19, version 3.38.1*

Is there a free version of the app or just a 7-14 day free-trail?

### 5/5 — Going Green with Olive

*2026-07-03, version 3.17.2*

Best healthy eating app I’ve used thus far. Others have had limited information or limited on what items could be scanned. That’s not the case with Olive!

### 5/5 — Great Resource

*2026-06-26, version 3.17.0*

This app is so easy to use and does all the hard work for you. I thought we were eating Clean that is Abbott showed me other choices I can make for the same money that is healthier, thank you. Like I have one of these apps for dog food

### 5/5 — Super fast scan results

*2026-06-25, version 3.16.0*

I can’t wait to keep using this to see how I can change up my pantry

### 5/5 — Switch now

*2026-06-23, version 3.14.1*

Way better then yuka I promise

### 5/5 — ehh

*2026-06-17, version 3.14.0*

it sounds like a great app that i would love! but it won’t let me create and account, i paid for the subscription but cant use the app :/

### 5/5 — Why should I have to pay

*2026-06-17, version 3.14.0*

I get y’all have a 7 day free trial, but I find it astonishing that we HAVE to pay to change our eating habits and be healthier. I downloaded this app thinking it would help me and its most likely free but you want to charge people that are working to eat healthier and not wanting cancer, leads, toxins, and etc in their body??

### 5/5 — Idk

*2026-06-16, version 3.13.0*

Idk
