### 2/5 — Crazy and mean

*2026-08-07*

This app is crazy and mean. It’s supposed to help with attachment styles but it’s so argumentative. It doesn’t tell you how to get your person back. It kept telling me to leave him alone and when I asked for advice it refused to give me advice. Like 3xs. So much attitude.

### 4/5 — Good, but wish you could correct mistakes

*2026-05-08*

The app misreads conversation flow, attributing my messages to them when they’re withdrawn. It’s a little frustrating, as I’m trying to understand where we’re at right now. I plan on continuing to use the app, hoping there are improvements over time

**Developer response:** Hi Melissa, thank you for the review and for sticking with us. We read every piece of feedback that comes in and are working hard to make Olively better with every release.

If you'd like to share more, please reach out to us at contact@yosha.dev. We'd love to hear from you and use what we learn to keep improving the app.

### 4/5 — great app but inconsistent risk ratings

*2026-03-13*

i LOVE this app. has helped me understand what my dismissive avoidant partner means by what he says and helps me write messages about my feelings in a way he wouldn’t take it wrong. so useful that i even purchased the subscription. only thing i noticed and should probably be taken a look at is the risk/spiral ratings. for example, i copy and paste a message my partner sends me and it gives me a spiral rating and gives me a response. if i copy and paste that message again, gives me a different spiral rating and a different message to respond. Also, if i put the response the app gave me into translate, for some reason it shows me a high risk rating and gives me a different response to respond to. then i continued to put the new responses the app gives me back into translate and continues to give me high risk ratings and generates new responses. the cycle keeps going. so yea, great app, just this inconsistency should be looked at.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this review - I'm really glad Olively is helping you decode your DA partner!

The inconsistencies you noticed are great catches. In our latest update (v1.6) we've significantly improved the app's memory and context awareness, which should make responses and ratings more consistent. We also added a screenshot feature so you can upload messages directly instead of copy-pasting.

Give it a try and let me know what you think :)

### 1/5 — $$

*2026-03-13, version 1.5*

it was going good til i had to pay, no mention of payment until after my 10 min quiz waste of time

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2026-01-22, version 1.2.3*

You have to pay to use the app.

### 1/5 — Expensive AI Gen

*2026-01-22*

I can just as easily plug all this info into ANY other AI and ask it to translate what I’d like to say. This is not specific to this app and they do not state until the very end of sign up that there is no free edition. Only paid. For $8/month. DeepSeek is free.

### 1/5 — you have to pay

*2026-01-22, version 1.2.3*

everything is hidden unless you pay. even with a free trial , you cant do anything

### 1/5 — you have to pay?

*2026-01-21*

so unfair to advertise an app designed to aid people with anxiety/panic in a spiral and yet makes them pay to have those resources? I understand some “pro” plan or something to bring in money, but making everything cost money for immediate resources for the mentally ill feels dirty.

**Developer response:** I hear you, and I understand the frustration. The app does offer a free trial with full access to everything - Translate, Decode, Relationship Pulse, the 7-day program, and the attachment style library - so you can use it during difficult moments without paying upfront. After that, the subscription helps keep the app running (I'm a solo developer and the AI that powers the translations has real costs). I wish I could make it free for everyone, but I'm trying to build something sustainable so it can keep helping people long-term. If cost is a genuine barrier, feel free to reach out to contact@yosha.dev - I'm happy to work something out.

### 5/5 — Dr CMDR

*2025-12-16*

Wish this was available years ago. Relationships could have been salvaged.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Free Option

*2026-08-23*

You have to pay money to use the app. Makes you do a long useless quiz and then you get stuck at the pay page. Waste of time, if you’re gonna require people to pay to use it at least put a disclaimer

### 1/5 — Supports the dismissive communication

*2026-08-16*

I've been using this app now for about 4 months. The way it responds supports the dismissive avoidant behavior so that you don't trigger the avoidant rather than help to communicate effectively. It's dangerous in that the app convinces the anxious that what they are doing and saying is wrong when it's really just teaching you how to succumb.

**Developer response:** Thank you for spending four months with Olively and for taking the time to write this. We're constantly working to improve Olively, and feedback from someone who's used the app this deeply is invaluable to us. We'd be grateful to hear more about your experience so we can improve: contact@olively.app. -Zach, Olively

### 1/5 — Poor Customer Service

*2026-08-02*

The team will not refund me after the trial ended and I could not cancel my subscription. I have never experienced such lack of empathy and unwillingness to cooperate. Refusing to refund me $70 is great for my anxiety, thank you!

### 1/5 — Does not listen to you

*2026-07-21*

Awful app. does not help you whatsoever. gives corny text suggestions and refuses to answer your questions because it thinks it’s “protecting you”. it’s a bot that should be able to do as i ask.

### 1/5 — can only use if you pay

*2026-07-15, version 2.3*

Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2026-07-06, version 2.2.7*

Don’t download, it’s like 42 bucks and it’s a waste. And won’t refund me when I cancel

### 1/5 — App is junk and free if you just use any Ai tool to ask the same questions — don’t install

*2026-07-03*

Support is nonexistent and they’ll keep charging you even if you request cancellation. Just remember that most of what this app is doing is basic knowledge. I really wish i had never downloaded this POS.

You can literally do this with any free AI tool. And $50 a year for the dopamine hit isn’t worth it.

**Developer response:** Hi Kitty, all Olively subscriptions are billed and cancelled directly through Apple, so once you cancel in your iPhone Settings, no further charges are possible from us or anyone else. Refunds are also handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and they're quick with subscription requests. We answer every email at contact@olively.app - if there's anything unresolved on your end, that's the fastest way to reach us.

All the best,

Zach

### 1/5 — Arrogant, patronising and argumentative AI bot

*2026-06-26*

Some of the useful content and feature features is overshadowed by an AI chat feature which is arrogant argumentative, patronising and refuses to answer the question you ask it. Resulting in far greater frustration caused than the whole purpose of the app which is presumably to affect a calmer, more balanced state of play for the user, Wiele furnishing the user with the information they ask for and alleged insights which the app claims to offer a domain expert. A real wasted opportunity.

They also charged the annual subscription fee slightly before the end of the 3 day free period they promised.

### 1/5 — Ruined marriage!!!

*2026-06-05*

This app is a dopamine hit for women who want to fool themselves into thinking they are helping their relationship .. all while it deletes previous conversations, but continues to build on the profile it has built on you.. if you spouse has this app in their phones. Delete it for them!!
0 star…

### 1/5 — This is genius

*2026-04-18*

I would have rated it higher, but you need to update the attachment styles. There are two types of “fearful avoidant” they are loud disorganized and quiet disorganized. Although they are both fearful avoidant the app is missing key distinctions between the two so I won’t be using it.

### 5/5 — Helps So Much!

*2026-07-09*

This has helped me communicate so much better with my boyfriend who is a fearful avoidant. I have an anxious attachment style. While I don’t have the typical issues with texting that this attachment style has, I struggle with those anxious thoughts. This app has helped me understand his attachment style, what he needs, and how to effectively communicate. It has also helped me calm down with the pulse reads and insights!
I definitely recommend this app to anyone who is new to dating or in a relationship! ❤️

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-06-13*

I am a securely attached person dating someone who leans fearful avoidant. This app is a lifesaver. In real time, it helps me translate my intention to that it lands with effectiveness and lowers my anxiety by helping me understand what my FA is trying to say. The insights are also invaluable. What I like even better than the realtime coaching and regular insights is that my instinctive patterns are starting to evolve - Olively is teaching me by example and i don't think I'll always need to use it :)

**Developer response:** This is exactly what we built Olively for - not to be a crutch you lean on forever, but a mirror that helps you see the patterns until seeing them becomes second nature. The fact that your instincts are already shifting is the whole point. So glad you're here, and even gladder your FA has someone in their corner who's doing the work.💜

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2026-03-31*

I really love this app! Just one piece of helpful constructive criticism is adding “disorganized attachment” as one of the attachment styles. I think it gets over looked a lot and would be nice to have added.

Think this can help so many people and wish nothing but success for the app. I do think hopefully down the line having an option for a free version and possible upgrade to plus version would be better but I understand having it be paid subscription, people gotta make money lol!

### 5/5 — Like it so far

*2026-02-16*

Saw this app from tikok. Lowkey kinda helps me to run my messages through the translator

### 5/5 — Awesome app for any relationship

*2026-02-07*

Great app for anyone in any relationship phase, even a long term stable one!

### 5/5 — Much better after update

*2026-02-02*

Now that I can add context before translating/decoding messages, the app is a lot more useful. Before I would try to decode his message, but the app didn’t take into account what I said before. Really love it now!

### 5/5 — Worth it

*2026-01-25*

I love the practical examples and scenarios they give. This is a very helpful app

### 5/5 — Great tool for couple communication

*2026-01-25*

My wife and I have opposite attachment styles and have experienced huge ongoing communication issues. This app has helped us nip so many arguments in the bud by helping us communicate in a way that the other understands. Highly recommended for spouses/couples with communication issues.

**Developer response:** This made my day, thanks for taking the time to write this review :) I built this app because I was going through the exact same thing almost a year ago (except at the time I didn't have the tools to stop me from pushing my partner away!)

### 5/5 — Worth every penny.

*2026-01-25*

I’m using this app to hopefully salvage my chaotic 3 year marriage. She is anxious and I’m avoidant dismissive, you know how that goes.. the app is great so far, and we seem to be doing better already but only time will tell. Fingers crossed.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review :) And yes... "salvage" is the right word here. It's really hard with an anxious/dismissive avoidant pairing. But it's certainly possible to make it work, and it's admirable of you (as a DA) to take the initiative to work on things.

### 5/5 — Wish I’d had this 9 months ago 🥲

*2026-01-20*

The title says it all. Let’s see if this thing can help salvage this situation at all.
