I love that I can simply count the Omer if that’s all I want, or I can get more—a quote for the day and the sefirot for the day. It is really useful. ### 5/5 — Favorite Omer App *2022-05-18, version 3.6.1* I have been using this app for several years to count the Omer. I love the thought provoking comments, the helpful links, and the mystical teachings. I appreciate that that I can make choices on the Nusach so I can use my family’s Sephardic tradition.This app is also very aesthetically appealing. Shame on the developer for inserting prayers for an illegal alien deportee (allegedly a gang member and wife beater) — into the app — Day 5. Clearly, the developer has no sense of decency or propriety. Disgusting! ### 1/5 — Use if you belong to JVP *2025-04-17, version 3.7* It was ok until I got to the writings that are anti Israel, pro Gaza Hamas. Deleted ### 1/5 — Well intentioned but badly needs updates *2024-05-01, version 3.6.1* Nice alternative counting app but not polished. Slow response from buttons on bottom ribbon, unintuitive layout, no obvious way to mark past days as counted regardless of status (to accommodate those finding the app during the Omer and still counting with a blessing). Not very user friendly. In summary, if you didn’t get this app before the Omer, you’re out of luck on being able to mark that you’ve counted to personalize your use. Better luck next year. Hopefully an update or several will fix some of this! Would love to see a polished version, as I love the etz chayim / sfirot. But for now, Chabad comes out ahead for the most user friendly, responsive app. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2022-05-16, version 3.6.1* I hate this app and the stupidity it promotes ### 1/5 — Great idea but app has issues *2022-04-21, version 3.5* I use and will stay with previous version which works beautifully. This update doesn’t keep settings even after I press confirm and doesn’t fit my iPhone Xs screen. For example, I can’t set a custom day because the menu options are “below” the bottom of my screen. ### 2/5 — Asking for Gaza aid *2025-05-20, version 3.7* I liked you until you asked for donations for Gaza. I switched apps. But thank you for showing us who you truly support. Am Israel chai! ### 2/5 — Loved It … But Crashed …. *2022-04-25, version 3.6* This is a go-to app but something happened as i was about to use it for Day 9. It crashed. Checked to see if there is an update today. Yes there is. Applied it. Nothing. Not opening. {shrug}. O well. Prior to that, this was a wonderful app that went beyond the standard fare by applying one’s heart to the requirement to Offer Omer this time of year, amongst other intriguing Offering enhancing considerations. I will wait a few days. Perhaps it did not like this year’s 9th Day. I can only hope. If I have one gripe it is the hive-mind of praying for Ukraine. I imagine the developer(s) has/have ancestry in that region. Because, unlike what the western media blabs daily, there are many many armed conflicts happening on this planet to-day … but they aren’t Europeans. What are those poor souls holed up in those messes; chopped liver? We pray for everyone who finds their life and living threatened by armed conflict in their homeland, from the small village no one cares about to the cities, even in USAmerica, where gun violence is a frequent daily prevalence and a regularity, and those places where strategists figure which best war-toy to use to win the day’s battles. ### 3/5 — Pretty minimal *2026-04-03, version 3.8* This app seems to be designed for more secular folks and non-Jewish people who find meaning for themselves in the Omer counting. ### 3/5 — Nice info, poor app design *2025-05-08, version 3.7* The text isn’t properly formatted to fit on the screen and changing settings of my device doesn’t adjust anything. It has not advanced to a new day from the first day that I logged on and it is so hard to figure out how to move between sections . For now, if you want to go to an earlier date, you can use the calendar button (next to the gear, then select the date and press “set” on the bottom) to get quotes from this year’s count. If you marked that you counted, then there should be a button with the beginning of the quote that you can click. If not, then the button will only be on the count page. Click it to get to the quote. There are instructions for all of the features when you press the info button.
