You try to place objects for the mini games and you have to keep placing the item(s) because they won't stay where they belong. Some of them were too hard to figure out. Not many hidden object puzzles. I would not buy this again. Played the long demo, liked the storyline, so decided to buy. But it's not up to the standard of the other "ominous objects" games. Storyline and graphics are good with a complementary atmosphere, smooth screen transitions, good mix of mini games, lots of nice collectables and, of course, your trusty sidekick Mr Jenkins 🐈 There is a fast travel map but it's "buggy" rarely indicating tasks available and sometimes not even where you are! So had to use the hint button a lot thus spoiling the gameplay. Also placing objects became quite a chore as did picking up some objects and, for me, there were too many HOS. And lastly there's a bug near the end of the bonus chapter when trying to use chalk on the notebook to get formula, tried for ages but doesn't work so couldn't finish the game! It's a pity because I thought the game itself was quite good 😔 (playing on iPad Air) Bug in bonus now fixed and was able to finish the game, thank you. ### 3/5 — Nicht so toll *2017-03-04, version 1.0.2* Aus der Reihe gab es schon bessere. I will play this for lack of something better to do, but I am guessing my review will not be higher than 3 stars. This is my final rating! The game was very short, even with the bonus adventure. The graphics were extremely blurry. The inventory was of the "leaping" sort, which I detest. The quality assurance was sorely lacking, Daily Magic and BigFish! The teleport map rarely functioned correctly, some of the puzzles/games were unable to be manipulated properly (see KimTwilight 's review), and it was occasionally difficult to apply inventory. There was no cohesive journal, and the HO scenes were recycled. I did not like the pick-3 game which was an alternative to playing the HO scene. Catalina had the right call, and so for once did Russell Wolf, who generally hates all games anyway! I was being generous with the stars because the game was set in Paris, a city which I greatly enjoyed visiting. Lynxie says don't waste money on this game and hope that Thursday brings us something way better! I send much 💋❤😘 to my fabulous and hard-working team. We hope that the other gamers appreciate the fact that we spend our money so that you don't waste your time or your hard-earned dollars! ### 4/5 — Why you gotta pick on the cat? *2017-02-28, version 1.0.2* Okay so this isn't my fav game from this developer BUT it's not by any means the worst game I've played! Graphics are great, the accents we could do without, the CAT is a great helper and pretty cute, so back off the cat! I didn't have any lag, the map was way off! Sometimes it would show you an active area and other times nothing's there, so you would have to hit the hint button. There were a few "puzzles" that didn't act as puzzles but when you look at the guide, it says it's a puzzle and you could skip it but in the game you couldn't. The clock game is one of those "puzzles"! Very frustrating when you can't skip a puzzle and it has no directions. The story was okay. It made sense to me and to others so why some didn't get it is beyond me. There are collectible cards, morphing dots with a lighting bolt inside the dot. Those are your puzzle pieces in the bonus area. I really like Daily Magic. Their up and coming, and have gotten a lot better sense we first saw them a year or so ago. The game was a bit short if you ask me. Overall I would give it a 3.5 rounded up to a 4! I'm just glad it's not gory and all about Demons. I'm kind of sick of those type of games because that's all we've been given for a long time except a few decent story's. I didn't see ANY RATS in this one. And again, not the worse game! Give it a try... if you don't like it, don't buy it! Period. Map is useless, placing items is a joke at best - warning in the train car you have to use the pump on a armrest - 99 out of 100 times it won't take. You use a hint and you have a decent chance. Also doorknob in studio - tap the arrows (left right) to get the darn door to light up and let you out. No skip available but should have been! If the cat wasn't so cute this would be 2 stars. Game is also short but I'm not sure if this is a blessing or a curse. Verdict: buy if bored. Thought I’d play it again and am being told no record of purchase. This is happening a lot since Big Fish went. So you don’t buy and keep forever at all. I’m stalled on the museum roof because I can’t get all the fountain lights to turn on, specifically the left lower lights. I’ve been working on it for over an hour! AND have hit on the hint button several times, zero help. $ 6.99 and doesn’t work? What a waste of money. ### 1/5 — Genderissues *2021-08-19, version 1.0.2* It is a real shame, that big fish at the beginning of the games still does not give a choice which gender the protagonist should be. In this day and age to be controlled into a gender one does not identify with is so aged and really should be looked into. I have stopped buying games because all protagonists are female. It would be so easy to program a choice into the games. Please consider this option. Or else at least have some protagonists male. There are not only woman on this planet. Makes me feel quite uncomfortable about the big fish company. Apart from this running issue, this games is quite enjoyable. The items in the inventory fly up and then back down when you press on them which is irritating. Some of the instructions for the mini games were not always completely clear. Hidden object scenes are repeated - puzzles are twisted. Teleporting map is not helpful at all, or I should say at times it will tell you where tasks need to be performed. Cannot believe, what we are getting in the way of new game releases. Things are going downhill at a dry rapid pace 😏. It is now almost insulting our intelligence. What has happened to 2017 games? Maybe someone out there will enjoy this, but I am bored to tears and feel like there is no real adventure or good story offered here. This is in my opinion why we need more than 2 releases a week. The museum lobby has a soaring violin sequence that I would like to hear more of. I went to credits and found the creators of the piece but they told me they did not save that information and suggested I contact Big Fish! Weird. Once or twice something happened and I was left wondering ”what just happened"? If you miss a morphing object or two, you are unable to complete a jigsaw puzzle in the Extras - you cannot return to the scenes to look for them. I have that.
