I’ve really enjoyed the Swiping and Battle mechanics too, as it adds a level of gaming that other movie apps such as Letterboxd lack. Mostly because I feel like streaming services are always trying to force feed me franchise films. However, OmList really changed the game for me. As a beta user before it launched, I really enjoyed swiping through the movies I’d seen and found myself wanting to revisit some of my favorites. The nostalgia was real haha :) And then when I finished swiping and got my full ranked movie list it was like the app had read my mind — it was so cool to see all of my favorite movies ranked, and it felt so accurate save one or two movies. But the big draw for this app is definitely getting new recs — I was recommended From Russia with Love which was a Bond movie I hadn’t seen but flew under my radar. I ended up loving it — it’s now one of my favorite bond movies. I don’t know if I would have ever gotten around to seeing it without OmList.
