Yes, this app is simplistic.  It has limited languages, and the free version has no voice-related content.  But I’ve used it often over the years for quick translation of phrases or words.  Will it help with travel or speaking to natives?  Only on a basic level.  But it’s helpful on a casual basis, and that’s all I need so far.

But it needs the language punjabi because I thought it did and I want that so I can understand my great grandma.  I wud giv it 5 stars if it had the language punjabi.  BUT in Spanish
If u translate the in of course English to Spanish it is RONG it says La the correct translation is LE not LA.

Not sure whether it's a bug or deliberate malware, but this app attempts to purchase DLC every time I try to translate anything. Unusable, and shouldn't be permitted in the App Store.

"Bug fixes" is the only funny part of this whole thing. Cuz it's a joke, you see. Ever since the update the app won't open. Keeps saying "Waiting..." n it stays shaded.

Because I got a perfect translation in the free version I updated to ad free with voice output. Now it doesn't work at all. I enter the word, click translate - nothing. Click speak, still nothing. Now I regret upgrading. I'll change my rating if this problem is resolved.

I got this app specifically so I could use it on my Apple watch while in France. Paid extra for the speaking function. Problem: wherever there is supposed to be an apostrophe in the French translation (and that is frequently), this app inserts four or five gibberish characters. This happens on both my phone and watch. The 'voice,' which seems to be a native speaker, actually tries to pronounce the gibberish! I will gladly change my rating when this bug is fixed.

This app used to be awesome. I used it all the time. But for some reason it slowly started taking away the number of languages it supports? What's the point of that? It's basically useless for me now.

Works well and tempting to pay for the additional features. However, when I indeed bought and upgraded the App, it failed to display the translated text (although voice worked ok), both on my iPhone and iPad. Tried to get a response from the developer, but had on reply. Stick to the free version.

Love it! Accurate, not like most translators, but one problem: how can you learn a new word in a new language when u can't even read the "other language" word? U need to include the romanji and romanji-stuff. Ex.

I have also had the same issue with this app like the previous review showing that this app can look me up using my Apple ID and get my first and last name. I would have no issue but since I then deleted the app it shouldn’t be still showing that they continue to have access to looking me up by Apple ID. This is a little unsettling and makes me wonder why no one can remove this. If the developer gave a hoot he would respond to this but nothing.

Even after deleting this app, an entry for it remains in Settings > iCloud > Look Me Up By Email. There is no way to remove it. Apple support couldn’t remove it, either. The text there reads, “Apps that have requested permissions to look you up by your Apple ID will appear here. People who look you up will see your first and last name.” You don’t have to turn this feature on, but why have it at all? Seems like a danger to privacy.
