It looks much better than the default. One version of the calculator keeps a history of your calculations. And you can have different calculators for each of your iPhone/iPad orientations. Very well done. I have tried about 4 other calculators and like this one the best. I'd give 5 stars if the documentation gave an example how to use the "FORM" button. ### 5/5 — Me *2011-02-19, version 3.2* Excellent. Bad part is the graphics. ### 4/5 — Could be perfect *2010-10-17, version 0* Great app overall, but I would offer a few suggestions. 1) Include an option to have commas appear in both input and answers when doing generic numeric calculations. 2) Include a backspace when entering long numbers 3) Implement a ":" function so that time equations can be inputed. 4) Allow highlighted line to have option of user selectable font color and highlight bar color. Also, please allow us to copy results to the clipboard. An essential missing feature! ### 5/5 — Best Calc Saved Me Time! *2010-09-17, version 0* I want to thank the developers for making such a good calculator. As a retail manager, I need to count inventory each month and this has proved a time saver. I love how I can save my calculations like a tape roll and go back and change it too. I am amazed how people give such bad reviews without giving things a try. As for the person complaining about lack of scientific functions, this Calc has a ton of scientific functions you just need to rotate it to find the calculator you need or you can choose from several others by pressing 'i' and changing settings. I'm glad I didn't pay attention to all the negative reviews. This app is a definite keeper! ### 5/5 — Beautiful! *2010-04-16, version 0* This app looks fantastic as is. Please don't go the route of iBooks by trying to make it more "realistic." ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Missing scientific notation *2010-09-16, version 0* Looked very promising. Liked customizable interface and calculator options. HOWEVER, I do a lot of calculations involving scientific notation and while results will display in this format I can find no way to enter data in scientific notation. This make the calculator useless to me. ### 1/5 — no support - no help - no instructions *2010-04-13, version 0* This could be a good app, however several features are not clear (e.g. how to enter a label on a line item). There is no help. No support on the website. Even no contact info. Without those features this is just another simple calculator. There are other ones that are free. ### 2/5 — Long term date calc of RecentVersions currently have errors *2019-10-08, version 4.1* Long term date calc of RecentVersions currently have errors. The older versions worked perfectly because the app let one year = 365.2422 days, but this current version appears to let one year = 365.2375 days. Also, this cannot be an Apple iOS error because other apps like ,xls apps do calculate correctly, although one must manually adjust them for the absence of the one year between the BCE & ACE when using .xls spreadsheets. Otherwise, OmniCalc would be a totally outstanding app. ### 2/5 — Will there ever be an update?? *2017-03-07, version 3.2* Love this calculator. It was one of the first apps I had ever bought and had been my favourite calculator since. Wish you would update it. Hasn't changed since my iPhone 4. But flawed ... Using 4.3 it corrupts the screen when you come back from the controls page. I installed and deleted this app several times. The reason? Each time that I returned from 'Controls' to 'Calculator' I get a black screen. Does this mean that OmniCalc is affected by update to the latest iPod OS? This is a pity. It looks as thought it could be very useful. ### 3/5 — Options to hide splash page *2010-11-24, version 0* Please add an option to hide the splash page so that the calculator starts up immediately. The few seconds of delay in e launch of the splash page should be eliminated. We can get the splash page/company info in the options -> about menu item. Please allow comma separators in the number dips,ay. I.e. 10,000,000 instead of 10000000. ### 4/5 — Expectations exceeded! *2020-06-28, version 4.1* Looks can be deceptive but make no mistake, this is a very powerful calculator. The unsophisticated graphics are quickly forgotten after one begins to realise just how powerful this thing is. And with its 100 x 100 registry matrix, it can match a small spreadsheet for basic data analysis and manipulation. The interface and operation is not exactly intuitive and I'm writing this with plenty left to explore, so it was a huge relief to find a comprehensive guide called 'Help' which I suggest is likely to be essential reading for others too! There's a choice of rather uninspiring colour schemes - my preference being 'Peace' - but several different and mostly very good fonts for the readout is really nice - and an unexpected bonus. If I could have one wish though, it would be for all of the buttons to be on screen in landscape orientation. It was only when reading the guide and selecting 'Scientific (iPad)' for portrait mode, that I realised what I was missing! Unfortunately, 'Scientific (iPad)' for landscape mode does not render correctly, leaving several essential buttons completely off screen. The overall feeling is that this app has excellent potential but has been left as a slightly unfinished project. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Super app *2026-05-13, version 6.1* OmniCalc is essential for anyone who wants to do serious calculation. It would appear that the developer is no longer supporting it, since the last update was 4 yrs ago, though the copyright notice is up to date. There is also no way to contact the developer on its website. This is unfortunate, as a Chinese developer is pushing an app with precisely the same name. I worry. ### 5/5 — THE BEST ! *2023-02-09* No data collection. Excellent features. Great layout. Ability to scroll & or save calls. And display options in settings. 5 Stars ! It has enough features for a casual user. If you turn the orientation horizontally, it turns to a scientific mode which will satisfy advanced users. This calculator works great on my iPad. I was surprised how many options there were for customizing this calculator. The setup was quick and simple allowing me to get the look and function I wanted. My thanks to the developer for a simple to use calculator that works great.
