### 4/5 — Can’t connect phone to Omnipod dash

*2024-12-30, version 1.3.3*

Why I can’t connect my pdm to this app? I could find that button

### 3/5 — Omnipod Dash

*2024-05-18, version 1.3.3*

I would expect more from this device. I expect it should sync with my iPhone 12 Pro Max to show and enable to adjust my insulin levels; to fully dispose of a separate reader & just be able to use my iPhone completely. Very disappointed

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iPhone.

*2024-03-05*

So the most popular phone on the planet and the app won’t work with them. Even small company health apps work with an iPhone but this one doesn’t. The instructions say to go into settings to choose your PDM but there is no way to choose a PDM. As I read more, the iPhone app is “coming” but why this was an afterthought is beyond me. So you have to carry your phone and another phone size PDM. If you forget to carry both, you won’t be able to deliver insulin all day. This is a HUGE drawback to this system.

I came from a Medtronic pump system and this is truly a much better system, BUT it has significant drawbacks by using another device to administer your insulin when you already carry an iPhone with you 24hrs a day, now I have to carry two iPhone size devices to manage my diabetes.

Finally, with this system you already have the Dexcom app connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth. Once this new app is ready, another device will be connected. I hope this new app will have the functionality for both products so those who have older phones (I have a 12 pro) don’t run out of battery halfway thru the day or have to keep your phone plugged in as these apps can be a huge resource drain.

### 4/5 — Battery is terrible

*2024-02-26, version 1.3.3*

Terrible battery, unpredictable and dangerous.

### 1/5 — CAN’T INVITE VIEWERS AND THEY DON’T CARE

*2023-12-16*

Since May 31st I have been unable to see my sons PDM info. The DISPLAY app for the DASH system keeps giving an error message when trying to invite followers -“Insulet corporation has recently increased security around, logging in to PodderCentral. Please update to the newest version of the Omnipod DISPLAY app to add more viewers.”
We have called tech support several times only to be told “we’re aware of the problem” and that’s it! FOR OVER 7 MONTHS!! Can you imagine Facebook or TikTok being down for over 2 months?!? Yeah, never! They’d have their developers all over that and have it fixed within a day! But when it comes to Insulet, it’s just a life saving app that many parents depend on for our children, but yeah, no rush, who cares about fixing it. I’m beyond disgusted that there’s no urgency to get this fixed. At some point one of us parents are going to miss a critical alarm and our child will end up in the hospital. You know, those pod failure immediately suspending insulin ones? Yeah those, the ones US PARENTS NEED AND DEPEND ON!!!

Insulet - Omnipod, why don’t you care? Are we not raking in the money for you guys like the new Omnipod 5? Stop saying you’re aware of the problem and just FIX IT!

### 1/5 — Not working

*2023-09-03, version 1.3.3*

I have an iPhone 13 max pro and once try to do the instructions from pod PDI I can’t see this option from settings.

### 1/5 — No iPhone compatibility!

*2023-07-26*

First of all, this is ONLY compatible with the OmniPod Dash system, which is outdated and most users of this insulin pump are now upgraded to the new OmniPod 5. Secondly, what’s the point of having a “display-only” app without the ability to communicate between the insulin pump and the Dexcom G6 glucose sensor? Furthermore, I’ve worn the OmniPod 5 for nearly 2 years now and have been hearing “any day now we will roll out the new app for the 5 series that’s compatible with iPhones.” Really?? Please do iPhone users a favor and design an app for us iOS users. I’m tired of carrying around two devices just to keep it going!

### 1/5 — Can’t control app because of Samsung Contract

*2023-07-03, version 1.3.3*

This app cannot control the OmniPod 5 due to a contract Samsung has to be the sole supplier for medical communication devices (per Apple Support Tech). This contract supposedly has been in effect for a few years and is set to expire in 2025. Until then I would not expect anything on the Apple front to move forwards.

### 1/5 — Lame

*2023-06-30, version 1.3.3*

Doesn’t work with Dash 5

### 1/5 — No View With View

*2023-06-15*

View is suppose to provide to friends and family status of another person’s insulin pump. When working it is a great tool to provide back-up on the pump’s status for those on an insulin regimen. I have tried working with Insulet Customer Service three times trying to restore my connection to my wife’s Display account which has now not worked for the last three weeks. They tell me they are working on it. I hope no one dies in the interim while “they continue to be working on it.” Consider the likely lack of technical support you can expect to receive prior to making the switch to any of the Insulet insulin pump products.

### 1/5 — What’s the point

*2023-06-10, version 1.3.3*

Why have this app when you have to carry your pdm with you anyway. Why not get on the move and release the iPhone app that was supposed to be out Q1 of this year.

### 1/5 — Nice but pointless

*2023-05-31, version 1.3.3*

Works but it’s pretty pointless since you cannot actually control your pod.

### 1/5 — Kinda useless

*2023-05-08, version 1.3.3*

Honestly this app is useless. You can’t control the pod with it and it doesn’t display things like daily insulin usage. Sure it will show each individual bolus, but not the daily totals. It also is never synced. It’s always hours or even days from the last sync so the information on the app isn’t even correct. I just don’t see the point of the app when you have to use the pdm for everything

### 1/5 — Only somewhat reliable

*2023-03-23, version 1.3.3*

I use the app primarily to locate the pdm. I know the search function only works if the pdm is on but not active. The search function works about half the time. I have the app on an iPhone 11 that is up to date.

### 1/5 — Not useful to me

*2023-02-12, version 1.3.3*

The app will display all the information that the Omnipod pdm offers but it does not allow you to control the Omnipod pdm. I find that I have to keep the Omnipod with me and my iPhone anyway to perform bolus updates. What’s the use?

### 1/5 — Poor communication

*2023-02-06, version 1.3.3*

I was so excited to get started with the omnipod 5 and when I saw the giant PDM that came with the pump I was relieved I would have a PDM option for my phone. However, after hours of trouble shooting I come to find out it’s not compatible with iPhones. This was not clearly noted in the trainings and is only gifted a tiny note on their compatibility page.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2023-01-13, version 1.3.3*

Hard to sync regular. The app does not sync as described. Also, disappointed with graphs and reporting capabilities

### 1/5 — IOS

*2023-01-12, version 1.3.3*

I wait for IOS services

### 1/5 — iPhones cannot control Omnipod 5

*2023-01-05, version 1.3.3*

Only Samsung right now can be used to control, no need for an app without functionality.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Serious problem in implementation

*2024-11-09, version 1.3.3*

Someone made a serious programming error in the implementation of Omnipod 5 Controller for Apple. When inputting a bolus into the controller, there is no way to put in a decimal point into the bolus amount. One is left with whole numbers of units.

The keypad has a number of useless inputs (wait and pause) as well as # and * (which are not functional), but no decimal point.

### 1/5 — Useless and redundant

*2024-10-17, version 1.3.3*

Does not function as advertised, cannot control Omnipod devices. No compatibility with Omnipod 5 despite Omnipod’s claims. Useless and broken.

### 1/5 — Frustration

*2024-10-10*

There is no current app that supports the Omni pod 5 making it so you have to carry and extra device which is very inconvenient for obvious reasons or if you are camping you now have to charge two devices which is not great if you like to be outdoors. The Omni pod 5 is also very bulky and makes an incredibly annoying ticking sound every time insulin is delivered and can be very frustrating when trying to read, sleep, do work or most things that require concentration as well as the pod itself beeping with no ability to control it is a very useful tool but whoever came up with the design should probably think about real life and how it is going to interact in those settings

### 1/5 — Bluetooth Can’t find PDM

*2024-08-22, version 1.3.3*

Can’t connect with my omnipod can’t find PDM device not working

### 1/5 — Absolutely Insipid... Waste of Developer and Clients Time

*2024-07-25, version 1.3.3*

This app does nothing useful I still need the PDM to actually do something. The app has multiple issues connecting via Bluetooth with the PDM as well. Absolutely annoying... Waiting for years for iPhone control this junk. You advertised years ago about iPhone compatibility

### 1/5 — Worked for like two months

*2024-07-09, version 1.3.3*

WHERE’S THE UPDATE?????

### 1/5 — DASH not able to be viewed on app

*2024-07-08*

I use to be able to see my DASH readings on my OmniPod app. I paired it like I always did when I got a new iPhone and I’ve called for assistance in the past. Well I called last week and the person couldn’t do it and told me they had to contact a supervisor. I received an email from OmniPod that no cellular phone is able to be viewed by a cellular phone with the exception of OmniPod 5. That is stupid!! I don’t want an OmniPod 5 I want to use the DASH, my doctor wants me to use the DASH. I have the email if you wish to see it. It is now a worthless app and obviously you don’t care about your customers.

### 1/5 — Go with tslim or Medtronic

*2024-05-21, version 1.3.3*

Any T1Ds deciding which pump to use, do not go w omnipod. Still no iOS app and still no Dexcom g7 integration. My sales rep straight up lied to me and said an iOS app exists when it does not! Omnipod & insulet don’t care at all about their patients/customers

### 1/5 — Who didn’t get paid?

*2024-05-16, version 1.3.3*

They made the COVID-19 Vaccine quicker than how it’s taking for this app to become fully functional. SMH!

### 1/5 — If you’re new to Omnipod, this is not the app you think it is

*2024-03-10, version 1.3.3*

I’m sure this app works perfectly fine if you already have a PDM, however, as of today (3/9/24) there still has not been a release (or concrete release date) for the pump controlling application on iPhone, even though it has received FDA approval, so that you don’t have to carry around an entirely separate device.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — FINALLY

*2024-10-30, version 1.3.3*

We finally got what we have all been asking for! A mainstream, reliable, commercial product for our Pods! The UI is slick, the customization is deep, and the UX is very similar to Android iterations.

No more two phones!! We love you Insulet!

### 5/5 — iPhone

*2022-11-05*

This makes no sense that all it can do is basically display. This app should be able to control the pump. Been waiting 2years for this to happen. I keep getting told this will soon happen from day 1. Must have gotten one heck of a deal on old phones they have converted to work with the G6. I do not like bulk and 2 “phones “ is bulk and unnecessary.

### 5/5 — My G6

*2022-10-15, version 1.3.3*

Best CGM I have used very accurate highly recommend this CGM

### 5/5 — Ummm

*2022-10-10, version 1.3.3*

When will it be available for the Omnipod 5?

### 5/5 — Ok

*2022-07-02, version 1.3.3*

Meh

### 5/5 — It’s liberating

*2021-10-10*

I have only had the OmniPod for five weeks so I am not familiar with everything it can do for me. For instance, I haven’t yet learned how to set a temp basal or suspend insulin delivery. But I do know that it has been wonderful to be free of giving myself injections. I love being out to dinner with friends and not having to excuse myself to deliver my insulin. The targeted amount I get helps with keeping my blood sugar steady. Pairing it with a Dexcom CGM really makes it easy to keep track of numbers.

I have found that some places I attach the pod are a little uncomfortable-not bad, but noticeable. That will take time, I guess. It’s a small price to pay for the freedom I have now.

Finally, for me it is less expensive than paying for two types of insulin. I am on Medicare with a supplemental plan. I will stick with OmniPod.

### 5/5 — Game Changer!

*2021-08-31, version 1.3.1*

Over the years, I have tried the array of Basal insulins w “some” or minimal luck and solid results w my FBS!
This is absolutely beautiful— No issue w FBS/Dawn Phenomenon/ High(er) Blood Sugar upon wake up!
This in conjunction w Dexcom makes for happy guy and an A1C that makes me
smile;’went from good to great in my
book!

### 5/5 — The Best!

*2021-04-25, version 1.3.1*

I love my Dash, and love that I can see everything on my phone. Great to be able to just swipe & loook. Thank you, Omnipod Dash!

### 5/5 — iPhone setups bit difficult. iPhone 8+

*2021-03-11, version 1.3.1*

Found out tried going to settings Omnipod was able to turn on bluetooth. Easy fix that I know.

### 5/5 — Easy

*2020-11-13*

I love that I can pull up my pod info on my phone. The only thing I miss is the ability to input anything or give myself a bolus directly from my phone which necessitates bringing the device with me at all times. If I could just document and bolus from my phone it would eliminate one more thing that I have to carry with me. Work on that will you?
