## Newest reviews (12 of 36)

### 4/5 — Title here

*2025-05-20*

Great app but it keeps asking for a review which is really annoying

### 2/5 — Sad to see Azuki abandon the Viz model

*2025-02-27*

In Feb 2025 they added 200 new series with egregious micro-transactions, brutal

### 3/5 — Purchased Manga “expires”

*2024-11-23*

I would love to give this more stars, as I think it creates great accessibility to more manga to more people.

I have a huge issue with how downloads are handled as I’m regularly offline. I understand licensing issues and most entertainment downloaded times out now. This is pretty annoying and could probably be handled better than deleting and redownloading (renew lease maybe?)…but my biggest issue is with PURCHASED Manga, volumes you pay to buy on top of your subscription.

These purchased volumes “expire” just like any other download. They should NEVER expire as you have paid additional money to purchase them specifically. Either the fees need to change and go way down if you don’t actually own that digital copy, or they need to never expire as they are yours now.

I’m happy to revisit this review if things change.

### 2/5 — Bad pricing model

*2024-11-20, version 3.3.0*

I’m fine with paying a monthly subscription, and I’m fine with buying individual volumes. What I’m not fine with is doing both. Pick one or the other.

### 4/5 — Wish More Series Were Fully Completed

*2022-03-02*

It would be really nice if we had more fully completed series on the app. It’s annoying if I can only read a third of the series and just have to stop. Feels like the app becomes an ad more than a service.
Besides that, I wish series like Arslan actually let me BEGIN the series. I can do nothing if it starts at Chapter 79. :/

### 4/5 — Great

*2021-11-27*

Still has a rather small selection of titles that I actually read, but the price is more than competitive. I’d like to see more options for the reader (like being able to scroll without the swiping animation), but it does it’s job.

**Developer response:** Hi Luke! Could you elaborate a little more on "scrolling without the swiping animation"? What do you mean by that? Also, feel free to reach out on our Discord or https://azuki.freshdesk.com/support/home anytime to reach us more directly!

### 3/5 — Catalog Needs Work

*2021-11-23*

Many of the series available on this app are incomplete. Many titles made available since Azuki launched are still incomplete months after the app has launched. Catalog should be updated more regularly. Otherwise the reading experience is good.

### 3/5 — Eh

*2021-07-28*

I understand that this is a new app but I got it to read Tokyo Revengers and there’s only 5 chapters up. And only 5 chapters for some time. Whenever they announce new chapters on Twitter it’s never mentioned so I have no idea when it’ll be updated. I know it’s new and has room to grow but a lot of chapters have been out for awhile so I’m not sure why they’re not there. I’ve been considering cancelling my subscription but of course you can’t on the app.

### 3/5 — Improvement

*2021-07-11*

Um a search button and favorite button would be good. It’s kinda weird not being able to search the app unless I’m slow and can’t find the search button(if I am lmk). Also, don’t have all the chapters. Having five chapters out of a 100 chapter book doesn’t make the subscription worth it. But u do have a lot of romance genre and that’s cool compared to others.

**Developer response:** Hello! Just want to let you know that search and favorites have both been added in the latest version of the app!

### 4/5 — Strong Start

*2021-07-05*

Really strong start for the service! Once adding your subscription through the apple store is added and the chapters catch up to their full amounts, this could be a perfect service! Excited to see where it goes!

### 3/5 — Like an early access Version.

*2021-06-30*

This app can‘t do much at the moment. Well, you don‘t have to open the website in your browser, but that‘s it. A lot of common features are missing so far. For example, there is no way to see all your favorites and there is no way to see your latest actions. Also the detection of your premium subscription status is kinda… buggy.

### 2/5 — Don’t delete

*2021-06-30, version 1.1*

Add favorites option, add option to subscribe in app, add more chapters or you won’t be competing with scanlators.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t load anything at all

*2024-11-09*

There was one series that I wanted to read, that wasn’t available anywhere else, so I downloaded the app. It doesn’t load any of the chapters at all. What’s the point? I spent over 5 minutes waiting for the chapter to load, and Nada. I even tried looking at different series. Nothing loads.

### 1/5 — Worst manga app ever

*2024-02-08*

Don’t bother paying for a subscription. Not only do you have to pay for subscription but it forces to buy the rest of the series of w.e manga your reading. If your gonna pay for a manga it’s better to order hard/soft books direct from the manga artists store

### 1/5 — Incomplete series

*2023-06-15*

Many if not most manga are incomplete. Now this is the publishers fault, but Azuki does not make it obvious that series are incomplete, and will never be complete. Nothing worse than starting a series you cannot finish. There are better ways to consume manga.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all

*2023-01-10*

I am do glad I didn’t pay for this service. I did the free trial and literally no manga loads for me. I click different chapters and it endlessly stays loading. I don’t see any images at all. Imagine if I had paid for this? I tried my computer and phone. Both don’t work. Is it something with my account? I’ve already tried going to my email and click the “Start Reading” and still nothing.

### 1/5 — I have a problem

*2023-01-05*

I been trying to cancel my subscription but can’t remember my password however as soon as enter my email to reset said password I get nothing, how can I fix this?? I do get the charge on my card but I don’t get the service

### 1/5 — Customer Support

*2021-08-31*

I am having issues with customer support website. The app lets me log in. I’m able to log in on the website. I try to log into customer support with same email and password and it says that log in info is wrong. My issues is that I’m unable to read manga in the app. Even though I’m paying for the subscription. Still says I’m a free member. I logged in and out of the app. I delete and reinstalled the app to see if that would fix the issue. The issue still persists. I requested new password email and have yet to receive it. In either my inbox or junk mail box.

**Developer response:** Hello! We're sorry to hear that you were having issues with your premium subscription. Please use the "New Support Ticket" form in our customer support site (https://azuki.freshdesk.com/) so that we can directly help you. The form does not require you to log in so you may ignore the log in options when you submit your request.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2021-08-06*

Compared to its competition it sorely lacks, not to mention it won’t let me cancel my subscription and I continue to be charged despite emailing the company multiple times with no reply…

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2021-06-29*

It may have a lot of popular titles but none of them are fully updated at all and there is no info on when the chapters will be up. I was really looking forward to this app but this is a giant disappointment since i really wanted to read tokyo revengers which only had 5 chapters out of 210 chapters

### 1/5 — Add a search and favorites options and more manga

*2021-06-28, version 1.0*

Adda a search and favorites options and more manga

### 2/5 — Pricing model is ridiculous

*2025-06-04*

The app itself is fine enough. Easy to navigate, plenty of reading options, large assortment of manga. Honestly it’s what I was searching for. Until I saw the dreaded lock on chapters from a certain point onwards. “One time purchase to unlock the content below,” or something. You’d think that’d be fine, and was more than willing to pay for the remaking volumes. But this is.a subscription based service. Why do I have to pay for the remaining volumes when I’m already paying for the subscription? It’s one or the other. Both at one is asinine anti consumer behavior.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Small app gets a lot of things right

*2024-12-30*

They have high quality manga, the app is smooth, they continuously add new series, and they have a membership that allows you pay a solid price for a legal library. Had a great first year using it and now am a premium member!

### 5/5 — The App I’ve Been Looking For

*2024-12-23*

In a sea of depraved manga sites where the only thing you can find is overly sexualized youth, Azuki comes to the rescue. There are so many great titles to choose from with a story outside of typical tropes and I am happy to have stumbled across it.

### 5/5 — I spent £4 on I Fell For A Fujoshi and it was worth it

*2023-02-08, version 1.8.0*

Kinda like titanic but better

### 5/5 — Great way to support creators

*2022-06-19*

I only just started with the app recently but I love how slick the user interface is. It’s great to have several scroll options, particularly the vertical scroll which is lacking on Shonen Jump.
The selection of manga is good, and the price is fair. It’s a shame that several Kodansha titles are missing chapters though. I was pretty excited when I saw titles like Aposimz for example, but saw that most chapters are missing.
Really hope Crunchyroll takes note!

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-05-28*

It is the best manga app to use it has the most variety

### 5/5 — A Great Selection of Titles at a Amazing Price.

*2021-12-26*

With a large amount of my free time spent reading and collecting manga, Azuki is easily at the top of my list of subscriptions when it comes to anime and manga. With an ever-growing library of series, there is something for fans of all ages. For the low monthly premium membership, you can enjoy to your heart's content.

### 5/5 — Great Selection

*2021-11-23*

I downloaded this since there were books from Glacier Bay and Star Fruit, and so far I’ll loving the service. The app works well and it’s easy to browse. Some series have more chapters available than others, with some only providing the most recent chapters instead of past ones. Though it can be sad to see a lack of backfilled chapters, I understand that publishing and licensing is complicated (and I’ll take what I can get lol). Overall Azuki provides a stronger variety than what I’ve seen on other apps— and that’s what I value most. But I hope more publishers take bigger chances and license larger chunks of their series to Azuki.

### 5/5 — It’s good.

*2021-08-05*

Love the selection so far! Look forward to see what is added in the future!

### 5/5 — i like it

*2021-07-09, version 1.1.2*

i would have thought there were plenty of apps for manga already but no! simulpubs with ongoing serials in japan is a pretty killer part of azuki. really hyped about this one

### 5/5 — Very clean and fresh

*2021-06-30*

Like that it’s is clean and easy to move through, it is new and has room to grow, can’t wait for more.
