## What is On Cue Teleprompter?

On Cue is a teleprompter that follows your voice.

Speak, and the script scrolls with you. Stop, and it waits. Paraphrase a line, skip a word, or start a sentence again — it keeps your place, because it listens to what you actually say rather than scrolling at a fixed speed you have to chase.

The front camera records while you read, with the script over the picture, so your eyes stay near the lens instead of tracking down the screen.

FOLLOWS YOUR VOICE
Speech recognition matches what you say against your script and keeps the line you are on at the reading line. Pause as long as you like. Say "scroll up" or "scroll down" to step a line without touching your phone.

RECORDS AS YOU READ
Tap Record and On Cue starts listening and filming together, in one tap. Front-camera capture with the script overlaid, saved straight to your Photos library. Choose HD or 4K and the frame rate your iPhone supports.

BUILT TO BE READ FROM
Left, center, right, or justified text alignment, adjustable text size, a reading line you can drag to sit near the lens, and per-word contrast so the script survives over a bright background. The controls stay put while you read, so nothing shifts under your thumb.

SCROLL BY HAND WHEN YOU NEED TO
Drag through the script yourself to skip ahead — release, and voice tracking picks up right from where you dragged to, so pausing to set up a later scene is one motion, not a fight to get back on track.

KNOWS HOW LONG IT RUNS
Word count and estimated run time as you write, then elapsed time, time remaining and your pace while you speak — measured from how fast you actually talk, not assumed.

WRITE OR OPEN A SCRIPT
Type directly in a full-screen editor, or open a file from Files or iCloud Drive (.txt, .md, .rtf) — edits save back to it automatically. Line breaks and blank lines carry over, so deliberate gaps stay as ad-lib room.

REMEMBERS YOUR SETTINGS
Text size, alignment, margins, pace and the rest of your preferences carry over to your next session.

IPHONE AND IPAD
One purchase covers both. On iPad the larger screen holds more of the script above the reading line, which suits a lectern or a desk; on iPhone it goes wherever you do.

NO SUBSCRIPTION, NO ACCOUNT
Buy it once. Speech recognition prefers Apple's on-device recogniser; if your iPhone has not downloaded the offline speech model, iOS falls back to Apple's speech service to transcribe. Your script and your recordings never leave the device.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.4 — 2026-09-14

• Smoother recording: the video no longer drops frames while the script scrolls.
• Fixed a problem that could leave a recording with no sound.

### 1.5.3 — 2026-09-07

Fixes a bug that silently lost the sound from your recordings: if you paused part-way through a take and carried on, the video kept going but the audio stopped at the pause and never came back. Recordings now capture sound right through.

Also in this release:

• The reading line can be moved anywhere on the screen now, including right to the top. It used to stop short of where the slider said it would.
• In landscape, settings open beside the script instead of covering it — so you can see what a change does while you make it.
• The controls no longer dim while you read, and the camera, settings and close buttons are bigger and further apart.
• Removed the zoom control, which could only crop the picture. The camera now always uses its widest view.
• Clearer explanations in help and on the setup screen.

### 1.5.2 — 2026-09-03

Fixes laggy and jumpy scrolling. On some iPhones the script could trail behind your voice or catch up in bursts; it now keeps pace steadily, including when you pause or change speed part-way through a take.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-08-31

Fixes a bug that could make the script editor stop scrolling after editing, and makes it easier to finish editing.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-30

Easier to read at a glance.
Controls, timings and labels are set in a condensed face that stays out of the script's way, and the whole app sits on a softer black so the amber marks read as light rather than decoration.

A countdown that tells you what it's for.
The pre-roll is now a film leader — a sweeping ring, the count, and a reminder to find the lens.

Turn the camera on or off before you start.
Recording is now a switch on the first screen. Previously, if you turned the camera off mid-take there was no way to turn it back on without starting another one.
