On Demand Calgary Transit is one of the ways we provide transit to communities that don’t have fixed route bus service yet. The service allows customers to book travel as needed, on their schedule. It’s easy to get started: 1. Create an account. Download the On Demand Calgary Transit app and follow the simple signup steps. 2. Book a ride. Enter your pick-up and drop-off address. Choose the proposal that works for you by tapping Book This Ride. 3. Meet your driver. Check the app to see your designated pickup point. It may be a short walk away, but it helps to cut down on detours and make your journey faster. The route for each trip is planned based on the needs of customers on that vehicle – your trip may be different each time, but will always be planned to get you where you need to go quickly. Our On Demand service welcomes strollers, kids, pets (in a small carrier), service dogs, luggage and/or groceries or other belongings (as long as they fit). Went from the best service to the worst service ever. Waiting 40minutes for transit is unacceptable ### 1/5 — Unreliable Service, Unsafe Driving *2025-10-03* I use On Demand Calgary Transit almost daily, and unfortunately the service is unreliable. The app glitches often, arrival times change suddenly, and estimates are rarely accurate. This has caused me to miss rides more than once. The vehicles are clean and I appreciate that the service helps connect communities without regular bus routes, but unsafe driving habits (distracted driving, overly rough or hesitant driving, and very loud music) make the experience uncomfortable and sometimes unsafe. This service could be excellent with improvements to the app’s reliability, more accurate time estimates, and stronger driver standards. I hope Calgary Transit invests in fixing these issues. ### 1/5 — 1 out of 5 stars *2025-09-02* Doesnt even let me load in the app, and the set time they give you isnt even accurate they always get there early or late never on time, only some drives are actually good at there jobs, and the app doesnt even let me see the drivers on where they are accurately, bring back the old app ### 2/5 — Completely Unreliable! *2025-07-03* This app is a total disaster. I’ve been using the app since it was first launched and I can confidently say the rides often doesn’t show up on time, and to make things worse, it constantly lies and says the car has “arrived” when it’s nowhere even close to where I am. I’ve stood around waiting in the dark, checking the GPS that’s provided, and the driver is blocks away — or worse, not moving at all. What kind of service is this? If you actually need to get somewhere on time, don’t rely on this app. You’re better off taking the walking the extra mile and taking the bus — at least it shows up and follows a real schedule. This app is unreliable, misleading, and a complete waste of time. I’ve been late multiple times because the estimated arrival times are completely inaccurate. What’s the point of scheduling or tracking if it can’t stick to it? Super frustrating and unreliable Avoid it at all costs! ### 1/5 — Mean *2025-06-12* Simran M. There are times where I’ve booked trips that suddenly disappeared on my screen, and then the app tells me that I “missed” my ride, even if the driver doesn’t show.
