## What is Onceday?

Onceday is a private daily journal built around one deliberate moment per day.

Capture a photo with the camera or choose one from your library, record up to 30 seconds of audio, or write a few words. Add a mood, tag, place, and person when they matter. A fresh reflection prompt helps you notice something worth keeping without turning journaling into another task list.

FOLLOW THE STORIES THAT RETURN

Continuity Map connects related moments already in your journal. Explore recurring people, tags, and places; see how many months a thread spans; review its timeline; and notice whether its recent tone is brighter, steady, heavier, or still developing. Every result is calculated on your device from entries you can open and verify.

CHECK THE ARCHIVE YOU ARE BUILDING

Archive Integrity scans your journal for duplicate days, broken photo or audio links, future dates, empty moments, missing people, and unrecognized mood values. It never edits or deletes anything automatically. Open affected moments for review, rescan when you are ready, or export a dates-and-counts report that excludes journal text, photos, and audio.

BUILT FOR LOOKING BACK

• Calendar archive with full-text search
• Filters for mood, tag, and place
• On This Day memories from earlier years
• People timelines with age-at-the-moment context
• On-device Archive Integrity checks with source-level drill-down
• Year heatmap, monthly consistency, mood patterns, and streaks
• Printable PDF yearbook with six cover styles
• On-device Year-in-Review video
• CSV export for spreadsheets

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Onceday has no account, advertising, tracking, subscription, or cloud service. Journal entries stay on your device. Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode can protect the app, and a complete offline backup file gives you a portable copy you control.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-31

Archive Integrity now checks your journal on device for duplicate days, missing photo or audio files, future dates, empty moments, broken people links, and unrecognized mood values. Nothing is edited automatically: open affected moments, rescan, or export a dates-and-counts report that excludes journal text and media.

This build also introduces a clearer, higher-contrast interface and improves persistent-store failure handling so Onceday reports an unavailable journal instead of silently opening an empty temporary one.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-06-26

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, plus small display fixes. iPhone is unchanged.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-21

Onceday 2.0 — a pro upgrade for your daily journal, still 100% offline.

• Year in Pixels: a mood-colored mosaic of your whole year, tap any day to revisit it.
• Mood Atlas: your warmth score, a month-by-month mood trend, the tags that lift you, and your brightest weekday.
• Reflections: a week / month / season / year recap with your hero photo, dominant mood, and brightest day.
• Looking Back: browse every "years ago" anniversary for any day, plus what's coming up this week.
• Entry Templates: six gentle writing scaffolds for the days you're not sure what to say.
• Recent-tag suggestions for one-tap reuse.

Face ID locked, no account, no network — every memory stays on your device.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-20

What's New in Onceday 1.3

Monthly consistency chart - Insights now shows a bar chart of how many days you logged each month of the selected year. At a glance you can see which months you kept up and which slipped - and feel good about the months that are solid.

Streak milestones - hit 7, 14, 30, 60, 100, 200, or 365 days in a row and a quiet celebration banner appears on the home screen that day with a message worth reading.

Smarter daily reminder - if you have an "On This Day" memory from a past year, your evening notification now surfaces it ("On this day 2 years ago: #trip - save today's."). If today crosses a streak milestone, the notification mentions that instead. The generic prompt is the fallback, so nothing changes if you're just getting started.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-15

What's New in Onceday 1.2

Filter your archive — tap the filter icon in Archive to narrow your history to one or more moods, one or more tags, or any combination. Active filters show as chips you can clear individually or all at once.

Read before you edit — tapping any past entry now opens a clean read-only view of the photo, text, voice note, and people tag. Edit is one tap away in the toolbar, so accidental edits are a thing of the past.

CSV export — in Settings → Backup & Restore, "Export as CSV spreadsheet" saves every entry (date, mood, tag, location, text, and more) as a plain .csv file you can open in Numbers, Excel, or any spreadsheet app. Your data, in a format you can use anywhere.
