Live Translation: Lecture Mode Lecture Mode is built for one person speaking for a long stretch: a class, a talk, a service, or a guided tour. Connect an external microphone, tap Lecture Mode on the Live Translation screen, and captions keep up continuously instead of waiting for pauses. Add earbuds and the translation is also read aloud to you while the speaker talks. Better with external microphones • Live Translation now works correctly with USB-C and wireless microphones • Your audio output stays where you put it. Connecting a microphone no longer forces sound to the phone speaker • The microphone in use is shown on screen • Quiet microphones are boosted so speech is recognized more reliably Faster captions • Lines appear shortly after the speaker stops, instead of waiting for a long pause • Short replies such as "No" are captured instead of being dropped Saved transcripts • Play a saved transcript back, read aloud in the language it was saved in • Show both languages or only one, with a clearer language selector • Fixed transcripts that saved empty or were missing lines • Better contrast on the buttons in the save and transcript views Reliability • Speech recognition now recovers on its own if it stops during a long session • If a language's speech model is not installed, the app says so instead of retrying silently • Various bug fixes and stability improvements Everything continues to run entirely on your device.
