I purchased two annual plans for a total of about $299, specifically for my elderly grandparents. Kooli advertises the service as easy to use, but my grandparents found it difficult to operate. In our experience, it is simply not suitable for elderly users who are not comfortable with technology.

The content was also disappointing. Many of the TV shows, dramas, and movies are quite old, and there are very few live channels. We also experienced frequent buffering, loading issues, and interruptions while watching. When I contacted customer service about these issues, I was advised to purchase an additional cable and connect the Kooli box directly to my internet router in an attempt to improve the connection.

After only about 15 days, I decided to cancel the service even though I still had almost a full year remaining on my subscription. I simply did not feel the service was worth continuing.

When I contacted customer service about a refund, I was told that since my grandparents were having difficulty using the service, I could keep using it for another month for free and use that time to help them get familiar with it. I was also told that if they found the other features difficult, they could simply watch the live channels because those are easier to use.

I found this response disappointing. The issue is not that we simply need more time to learn how to use the service. The service was advertised as easy to use, but it did not work well for my elderly grandparents in practice.

I was also told over the phone that I would have to pay an additional $89.99 device fee if I received a refund. When I asked where this fee was stated in the terms or refund policy, I was told that it was not included because my purchase was made during a promotional period.

After this, I was told that I would receive an update regarding my refund request. However, despite following up multiple times, I have not received any response at all. I have tried contacting them both by email and phone, but there has been no reply or update on the status of my refund.

Overall, I am disappointed with the outdated content, limited live channels, buffering and connection issues, the lack of clarity around fees, and especially the poor communication and lack of follow-up regarding my refund request.

In 2026, the utter lack of functionality is blasphemous. There’s are 2 useless filters to search:  “Network” and “Sort by.” ALSO, you’ll see ads all over the app, even with a premium membership.

This app is pure trash. Whether I’m watching a drama or a variety show, the "random" autoplay always ends up pushing those cringey dating shows I can’t stand. It feels like they’re getting paid under the table to shove that specific program down our throats because customer service completely ignores every complaint. Unless you're holding the remote to stop it the second an episode ends, you're stuck in an infinite loop of dating junk. The selection is tiny, the price is a total rip-off, and I’m finally deleting this garbage.
