When I went to search up if this app even had subtitles thinking it was a glitch on my part, I found that they had a tutorial on how to get subtitles but clearly that tutorial was a lie since I reset my phone I refreshed the app multiple times but none of the dramas I would’ve liked to watch have subtitles. ### 2/5 — No English Subs *2025-06-04, version 3.6.7* For all the shows I clicked on there weren’t any English subtitles. These weren’t even new shows. They have subs on other platforms. Kooli advertises the service as easy to use, but my grandparents found it difficult to operate. In our experience, it is simply not suitable for elderly users who are not comfortable with technology. The content was also disappointing. Many of the TV shows, dramas, and movies are quite old, and there are very few live channels. We also experienced frequent buffering, loading issues, and interruptions while watching. When I contacted customer service about these issues, I was advised to purchase an additional cable and connect the Kooli box directly to my internet router in an attempt to improve the connection. After only about 15 days, I decided to cancel the service even though I still had almost a full year remaining on my subscription. I simply did not feel the service was worth continuing. When I contacted customer service about a refund, I was told that since my grandparents were having difficulty using the service, I could keep using it for another month for free and use that time to help them get familiar with it. I was also told that if they found the other features difficult, they could simply watch the live channels because those are easier to use. I found this response disappointing. The issue is not that we simply need more time to learn how to use the service. The service was advertised as easy to use, but it did not work well for my elderly grandparents in practice. I was also told over the phone that I would have to pay an additional $89.99 device fee if I received a refund. When I asked where this fee was stated in the terms or refund policy, I was told that it was not included because my purchase was made during a promotional period. After this, I was told that I would receive an update regarding my refund request. However, despite following up multiple times, I have not received any response at all. I have tried contacting them both by email and phone, but there has been no reply or update on the status of my refund.
