## What is One Lap Reloaded?

One Lap is a retro-style, skill-based game that is easy to play, very challenging and highly addictive.

The object of the game is very simple - press 'Go' and then use the 'Right' and 'Left' buttons to steer the car around the track to the finish line, without crashing into the grass.

It seems very difficult at first, but you will improve your skills and strategies very quickly, which enables you to get further and further around each track.

When you complete a track, you will advance to the next track. Each completed track is then unlocked and available to 'Replay' at any time. You will also be able to view your recorded 'Stats' for each completed track.

Pressing 'Play' will always put you on your latest uncompleted track and show you how many attempts you've had on that track so far.

The game continually records the number of attempts you've had so far on your current track, as well as on each uncompleted 'Replay' track. The game also records the number of attempts you took to originally complete each track.

Whenever you complete a replayed track, the game will check to see if you've beaten your previous best, and record your new best if you have.

You will have the option of resetting the game at any time. However, if you do, you will lose all your current progress, including the ability to 'Replay' your completed tracks.

Can you complete One Lap? Will you beat your family and friends? Will you be the first person to complete all the laps?

Good luck and don't give up :)

### 3/5 — Bill Hicks

*2019-09-11*

Was watching bill hicks while in the bathroom, gave this a try, very cool you made your own game and students have fun with it. Pretty much unplayable on my little phone. I can see it may be ok on a tablet but on my small screen I wasn’t able to get past the first turn no matter what I tried, I pressed go 20 times or so and got no response from left or right turn, so the only other option was to hold turn before I pressed go but that resulted in a immediate crash. I understand difficulty is intentional but it’s a bit extreme on my size phone that the controls feel unresponsive.

### 2/5 — Improvements to be made

*2019-06-24*

I’m gonna be honest here. This is a good idea on paper, it’s easy to understand, simplistic and fun. But it’s execution is subpar. To start the game you press go, I am without warning speeding towards a wall and die. You have to steer right immediately if you don’t want to crash but the controls aren’t responsive enough for that fast of a movement. If you were to have more starting and/or a count down to prepare this issue could be fixed. The track itself is rigid and hard to maneuver around in. The controls aren’t designed for the game, making a less rigid figure 8 and not dying in the first second would make this game more polished and fun to play.

EDIT: I beat the first track and sweet Jesus there’s more. (It took me a little over 200 attempts, why?)

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your honest feedback, and I'm sorry the game wasn't to your liking. It's much better to play on a large phone or tablet. Everything you say is completely true, and some people find those things annoying. However, it might surprise you to hear that it was all done deliberately, in an attempt to make it very challenging. The hope was that it is so difficult that you find it very rewarding when you complete a track. One of my students completed 7 tracks in one evening. So I think for people like him, it's a good job I made it difficult, especially track 8 :) otherwise people would have completed the whole game too quickly. Did it make you keep trying? Did it feel great when you completed track 1? A lot of people have said exactly the same as you by the way, but a lot of people have got addicted to the challenge. Thanks again
