Free, but worth paying for. ⛔️ No Search/Find. Fixed width render. 🤮Changes sometimes get lost. Dual-view scroll gets un-synced. Links in PDF don’t work. ### 3/5 — Fixed width *2026-04-15, version 1.6.5* This tool cuts off the right side of the markdown. I tried widening the window and it still cuts off the right side of the markdown. It seems like the display area is a fixed width. ### 5/5 — A Focused and Flexible Markdown Editor *2026-03-25, version 1.6.5* As the name implies, One Markdown does one thing and it does it really well. It has become my go-to verbal thinking tool, sitting transparently between me and my content. This app’s single pane markdown editor is perfect for getting text into a .md quickly and effortlessly. When you are editing for clarity, the preview pane add comprehension with visual clarity and hierarchy. Long md files are easy to structure and navigate using the outline pane. I rely on One Markdown for developing and managing 5000 character GPT prompts and very large knowledge files. With my working files stored on iCloud Drive, I can do most of my writing at my desk on my MacBook Pro, make edits in a meeting or off-site using my iPad, and take quick notes or reference in line at the coffee shop on my iPhone. Out-of-the-box, One Markdown is everything you need and nothing more. Changing colors isn’t just a great idea, it is what allows people with disabilities to use a product. Change font? Paywall. Change settings? Paywall. Have disabilities? Paywall. While I understand for some people, black on white or white on black or small/big fonts is a CHOICE for many others, it’s a necessity. For those with eyesight issues, this isn’t a very forgiving app. For those who have no handicaps, its a good app. I’ll pass. ### 5/5 — Awesome! *2026-02-08* Replaces a basic text editor while also adding features of Markdown, at a very fair price. Going forward in 2026, I committed to creating an OS-agnostic file system by saving text-based documents in 3 file formats only: Markdown, Word, or PDF, in that order of preference depending on other factors. File -> open creates a new window and drag and drop doesn’t work. Whatever changes we make are final which is not good - please provide these buttons. The scrolling is sync’ed when we scroll the left markdown panel (it scrolls preview on the right) but when the preview pane on the right is scrolled, it does not scroll the markdown pane. Better yet, provide a Synchronized Scrolling switch in the settings and also on the toolbar for quick access (default=yes) for on-demand scrolling or turning it off/on quickly for any reason like keeping the other pane sync’ed/unaffected from scrolling. This is absolutely ridiculous! I didn’t realize this until I paid $10 for enhanced LaTex display. Now, I cannot read in the app what I write. What’s the point of this? Lovely css themes as standard and ability to add your own. I’m a huge fan of this app because I really enjoy apps that specialize in one thing and do one thing really well. Typically for me to view a markdown file I had to use Notion or my IDE, and I’m just not a huge fan of Notion at all. It was a huge headache to have to use it all the time and so now that I can view my documents in One Markdown and just open them from my folder it’s very simple to use, it does exactly the job I need it to and nothing more.
