I got to test my knowledge of LOTR (which I ❤️❤️❤️ soooooo much) but I recently redownloaded it and it wouldn’t even open. If they could get that fixed I’d give it five stars, I’m giving it three stars because of the time when it worked it was so fun. ### 4/5 — Love this! *2023-02-26* So far I love testing my knowledge of Lord of the Rings. Im currently reading the series right now so it's fun to test my knowledge of what I remember from the movies and learning now as I read it. I would give 5 stars but for some reason if I get a question wrong it exits me out of the app completely? Also, it desperately needs a way to correct some questions that are actually wrong. Peter Jackson didn’t create Middle Earth; he ruined it. ### 2/5 — I am sorry *2018-02-28, version 3.0* I am not one to write a review, but I was attracted to this application because I wished to test my LotR knowledge. I had hopes that this would provides me with a questions about the intricacies of Tolkien's trilogy, but I was sadly not impressed. This program has potential to be the greatest of LotR’s trivia app’s, but there are multiple things that need to be addressed before then. 1) If the answer is longer than a few words, the text does not fit inside the answer box. 2) Create a system to specify if tge question is pertaining to the books or the movies. 3) Verify the answers of the questions. I attempted the campaign multiple times, but I found many of the answers incorrect. 4) Possibly create a way for the user to change the difficulty of the questions. The questions I answered could have been better written and and encompassed more of the lore behind the trilogy. Thank you developers for this app. I did enjoy it, but I cannot see it becoming popular without making the above changes. Thank you! ### 1/5 — Did these developers even read Tolkien? *2018-02-13, version 3.0* This app looked fun because what Lord of the Rings fan doesn’t love trivia? After playing it for a few days, and perpetually getting answers wrong that I knew were right, I’ve uninstalled it. I mean, really? Hobbits do not eat 7 meals a day. They eat 6; Tolkien only ever wrote about six meals a day (reference the prologue to The Fellowship of the Rings). This app also engages in egregious grammatical errors, which were easily dismissed the first few times I saw them. However, after every other question started showing up with errors, I really got annoyed. Don’t waste your time with this. ### 2/5 — Not the best *2018-01-18, version 3.0* This game has some questions that are way easy (ex: who was the ring bearer) and some that are way hard. If your a super nerd, you wouldn’t like it because of the easy questions, but if you just like LOTR, some questions will be too hard and you’ll end up having to guess. I like that you can reach different ranks, so that part is good. It won’t open up and the devs seem to have abandoned it so there is no support to fix the issue. I have an iPhone 14 ### 1/5 — Um, I can’t even open it? *2023-07-07* As a LotR nerd, I’m sure it’d be a great app, content-wise. However, there’s the small issue that it’s impossible to open… and I’m pretty positive it isn’t an issue with my phone. If you could fix the issue that kicks me out of the app I’d be happy to actually use the app and correct my app. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Can’t Even Open the App *2023-07-05* I should preface this by saying I was really excited when I found this app! I love LOTR and really wanted to test my knowledge against the app. That being said, after I downloaded the app I would try to open the app, after which the app would immediately and automatically close. Four times. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app FOUR TIMES!!! I’ve got an iPhone 12 and this is… so frustrating! I would love to change my review if this issue can be fixed and I can actually use the app! ### 1/5 — Does Not Work *2023-06-21* App has not been updated in 5 years. It won’t even open for me to even try it out. Crashes every time. Tried deleting and reinstalling still doesn't work. I wish there were more questions though I love how the game is set up, how you can fight the battles and unlock people to “help” you fight. This is a really awesome game. A certain question asks ‘ where do the hobbits go after Bree?’ The answer is Rivendell, but is should be weather top, at least for the movies because that’s when Frodo got stabbed and then they went to Rivendell to get help from Elrond to heal Frodo. Still an awesome game though. I love some of the hilarious answers!!! Best trivia game ever! Best LOtR trivia game ever!!! I love this game!!! -lady Jewell 117- Great job! It seems the app will let you purchase it over and over, so don’t do that. Also, I still see adds under games and between games. Restore purchases does nothing. Still like the app, but this is kind of disappointing. Original review: If you want to finally find a use for all that stored up knowledge about middle earth besides boring your friends or hoping you run into Stephen Colbert somewhere, this is it. As an example of the depth of lore and also question for the developer: If you’re going to include (and rightly so) that Saruman forged a ring of power, shouldn’t you include that in the sum of rings of power question?
