### 3/5 — minha experiência com one sec

*2026-08-27*

### 4/5 — Please add Minecraft

*2026-08-17, version 5.2.9*

Please add the game "Minecraft" to the "Shortcuts" app for setting usage restrictions. Otherwise, the app is great

*2026-08-11, version 5.2.9*

### 2/5 — Baited in

*2026-08-06, version 5.2.9*

You have to go through a lot of steps on your phone to block your apps. They send you a whole workflow to your email and everything. And then overnight, suddenly, they say that they will only lock you out of 1 app (versus the 3 I took my time to set up). Classic bait and switch.

### 4/5 — Great app on iOS but experience between Mac and iOS needs to be more so the same

*2026-08-04, version 2.0.3*

Like how its genuinely difficult to get around on iOS but way too easy to get around on Mac, especially through just disabling the extension or (if a website is blocked), clicking reload without content blockers. Frustrating how there’s no blocking schedule available on Mac for free but is available on iOS as blocking is the main thing that stops me ruining my sleep schedule through social media apps. Better integration fully with screen time on Mac would be better than an extension (or alongside an extension). Still an awesome utility and has definitely decreased my screen time 3-fold easily

### 4/5 — Cool App

*2026-07-27, version 5.2.7*

Kinda problematic they allow you to strict-block without setting an app, which combined with some of the other features, can be sort of a phone breaking feature. But the Detox feature is great!

### 3/5 — Paid Features!!

*2026-07-22, version 5.2.7*

Works on Paid features. Only one is available for free.
Need to set up Shortcut manually.

### 3/5 — Just Basic

*2026-07-19, version 5.2.7*

The app fundamentally lacks essential features, such as the ability to insert images or media directly from the photo library, relying solely on the camera. Additionally, the built-in text editor is quite limited in functionality, and there appears to be no way to delete images once they are added.

### 5/5 — Works

*2026-07-09, version 5.2.7*

Sometimes I delete this because I get pissy about waiting 30 seconds to scroll, only to discover that I’m totally cooked without it.

### 2/5 — Took away features for free users

*2026-07-08, version 5.2.7*

Guess I’m too poor to benefit from an app like this. Raising the price and taking away options I already had is insulting. I genuinely enjoyed this app until it stopped allowing me to use it without paying a large recurring fee. Sad.

### 5/5 — Massively useful app and great devs

*2026-07-06, version 5.2.7*

This app is great for controlling my problematic social media use and when I pointed out an issue I hit, the devs communicated closely and fixed it!

### 3/5 — Doesn’t work sometimes

*2026-07-06, version 5.2.7*

Sometimes it just doesn’t open and skips the screen and goes to the app

### 2/5 — I just delete the app

*2026-07-05, version 5.2.7*

I’ve always tried these type of apps but they never actually work because I just delete the app

### 4/5 — good until they got greedy

*2026-07-04, version 5.2.7*

this really helps, keeps you from opening the apps instinctively and if I set the intro time really long I usually just get irritated and give up on opening the app. However the free version now only lets you have it configured for one app which is just ridiculous. Having app switching locked behind the subscription was already enough as that was super irritating and would’ve been worth paying money for.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used to be amazing

*2026-08-17, version 5.2.9*

I used to use the app about six months ago, and it worked perfectly. Now, every time I open the app, I’m forced to create a new account and sign in again, which is extremely frustrating.

On top of that, the app won’t let me block more than three apps at a time, even though I paid for a full year of the One Sec subscription. At this point, the subscription feels like a complete waste of money because I’m paying for features that either don’t work properly or that I can’t even use.

I really liked the app before, so it’s disappointing to see it become this difficult to use. I’d appreciate it if these issues could be fixed or if someone could explain why my paid subscription isn’t working as expected.

### 1/5 — Bud big price

*2026-08-07, version 5.2.9*

Not free

### 1/5 — Privacy Concerns

*2026-08-06, version 5.2.9*

I used this app for a year back in 2023 and then never used it again but it sat in my phone since then. I recently (as in July 2026) was saving a page on safari to my reading lists and one of the options was “Add to onesec’s reading list”. I am honestly baffled at why onesec would even have a reading list to begin with. It’s an app to lower screen time. I never created a reading list for this app nor did I give it permission to create one. Zero stars if I could.

### 1/5 — Too expensive

*2026-07-20, version 5.2.7*

I would totally pay $1.60 or whatever it is a month. But that’s not an option. You have to pay for a year up front which is $19.99 a year. Most people are not gonna want to pay $20 bucks for something, they would much rather be allowed to pay 1.60 something a month. You’d probably make more money with this app if you offered more flexible and realistic payment options. Cuz it’s a great concept. But yeah way too much up front cost.

### 1/5 — Non-Functional

*2026-07-14, version 5.2.7*

They will happily accept your money for a subscription, but will not respond when you report an error via email. Do not recommend.

### 1/5 — Might as well look up shortcuts

*2026-06-26, version 5.2.6*

This app is not worth the money. You basically have to do everything yourself and it is essentially just a container for some explainer videos on how to use shortcuts. And, worst of all, it didn’t even work after I went through the steps. Avoid this app!

*2026-06-23, version 5.2.6*

‌

### 1/5 — 🥶🥶🥶🥶

*2026-06-23, version 5.2.6*

English (for developers):

1 star. This is one of the most dangerous apps I have ever installed.

I accidentally activated the “block all apps” mode, fully expecting that I could easily disable it inside the app, or at least remove the restriction by deleting the app. That was not the case.

After activation, my iPhone basically turned into a brick for an entire hour. Almost nothing worked. Apps were blocked, even the camera stopped working, and the phone became nearly unusable.

The worst part: deleting the app did NOT remove the restriction. Even resetting iPhone settings to factory defaults did NOT help. I tried everything, including Screen Time settings, with no success.

The only way to recover my phone was to completely erase the device and restore it from a backup. If I had no backup, this could have been catastrophic.

Developers, this is a critical design flaw. No productivity app should be able to lock down a phone this aggressively without a clear emergency override. Users need a safe escape option: PIN override, cancel timer, unlock button, or at minimum a large warning before activation.

Right now this feels less like a productivity tool and more like dangerous software capable of completely locking a device.

### 1/5 — Govno

*2026-06-16, version 5.2.6*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2026-08-25, version 5.2.10*

Thank you

### 5/5 — Closest thing to magic bullet

*2026-08-24, version 5.2.10*

Cut my screen time dramatically instantly. I compulsively open apps and unfortunately the best advice to this point had been to just put your phone away, which I can’t do because of various reasons. This has been a life saver, I usually don’t gush this hard over an app but this had been hugely beneficial for me.

### 5/5 — Please

*2026-08-19, version 5.2.10*

Please add setting so one sec can work on chrome app on iPhone for websites!!!

### 5/5 — Amazing app to stop procrastination.

*2026-08-16, version 5.2.9*

This app is great for people addicted to procrastination. It’s really eye opening to see how many times I opened this app and how much time I saved. Opening Instagram or tik tok has always been so impulsive to me that I don’t even realize it when I do it. This app provides a breathing exercise before opening up social media and it’s great to stop impulsivity and be more aware of the apps that you are opening up on your phone.

### 5/5 — Great app - suggestion!

*2026-08-11, version 5.2.9*

It’s a great app, but like all addictions you’ll always find a way around it. I think for the recurring block feature I’d like to see an option where I’m not able to turn off the block in the next hour as well as the current hour. For example at 9.57pm I can turn off the hour 10-11 and in three minutes I’m doom scrolling away!

### 5/5 — 5/5 would recommend

*2026-08-09, version 5.2.9*

Begone doomscrolling 😩(i know I can just uninstall those apps, but this is a sweet compromise)

### 5/5 — Most effective screen time app

*2026-07-28, version 5.2.8*

I’ve used and paid for subscriptions, apps like opal etc. This app is by far the most effective, it doesn’t use simulator type methods to get you hooked on not using apps, but enables you to think consciously about your choice and doesn’t force you to stay away if you actually WANT to use it.

### 5/5 — no goon

*2026-07-26, version 5.2.7*

good no goon

### 5/5 — I tell all my friends about this!

*2026-07-23, version 5.2.7*

one sec has been almost life-changing. It used to be one of my most opened apps because it interrupted all the times I tried to doomscroll! I love this app and it was so helpful. Setting it up, takes a little bit of work, but it was so worth it! My screen time has gone down significantly, and I have so much better boundaries on my screen usage. Every time the topic of looking at your phone too much comes up in conversation, I always recommend this app!

### 5/5 — Greatest ever

*2026-07-10, version 5.2.7*

I love this app. I used it for quite a long time for college because I was procrastinating by going on social media so much. At some point I ended up having to delete it because I was finding work arounds but have finally downloaded it again because I get so sucked into instagram daily. One sec my goat. I tried using opal for a change of pace but immediately got annoyed with how it is set up and came back to one sec.
