## What is OneBoard?

One Board is one shared board for two people. Open it and start writing cards. There is no workspace to set up, no team to manage, and no account to create. Your cards live in your own iCloud, and your partner sees them in theirs.

WRITE IT DOWN. CLAIM IT. SAY THANKS.
• Write down a thing that needs doing.
• Your partner taps "I'll do it" and claims it. Nobody gets assigned; people volunteer.
• When a card is finished, the person who wrote it gets a nudge and can answer with a heart, a thank-you or a cheer in one tap.
• Add an optional intent to a card — a little help, together, no rush, or it matters to me — so the tone behind it comes across without a conversation.

A BOARD, NOT ANOTHER LIST
• Columns and cards you drag with a finger.
• On iPad the whole board is on screen at once, in any orientation; on iPhone, one column at a time.
• Checklist columns for groceries and packing, with a satisfying tick — and leaves over the board when the last item goes.
• Due dates, colour labels, and a face on every card that shows who is on it.
• Archive finished cards and bring them back any time.

BUILT FOR TWO
• One board, shared through iCloud. No servers, no sign-up, nothing to subscribe to.
• Changes reach your partner's phone on their own, and both of you can keep working offline.
• Reactions and "done" notifications go straight from one phone to the other.
• Keep a card private. It stays on your phone and never syncs.

ALSO
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that show what's next and let you tick checklist items without opening the app.
• Export your whole board as JSON at any time. It is your data.

One Board is made by a couple who wanted something lighter than a team tool and calmer than a chat. Two people, one board.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-09-13

Inviting someone now happens on a page that looks like the rest of the app, and the board says so when there is no iCloud behind it.

• Invite: a page of One Board's own shows who is on the board, with one green button to send the invitation. The system share sheet appears only at the moment you choose how to send it. From the same page you can remove a member, or stop sharing altogether — everyone else loses the board, and your cards stay exactly where they are. If you joined someone else's board, this is also where you leave it.
• When the phone has no iCloud account, the header says "Not syncing" where "Syncing…" would be, and explains that the board is only on this device until you sign in. Before, a board that never left the phone looked exactly like one that did.
• The line that says some changes have not reached iCloud now tries again when you tap it, which is usually all it takes once whatever refused them has been sorted out.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-12

A deleted column now reaches the other phone, and on iPad every column says its own name.

• Fixed: deleting a column had never reached iCloud. Because a batch of changes saves all or nothing, that one refusal jammed everything behind it, and the phone quietly stopped uploading at all — which looked like sharing that only worked one way, and like columns that came back days later or on a fresh install. All of it was the same bug.
• Fixed: accepting an invitation while the app was still loading your own board could leave you with two of every column. Signing back in to iCloud could also write your copy of someone else's board back onto theirs.
• When iCloud refuses a change rather than just waiting for a signal, one line above the board says so until a save gets through. Being offline is normal and is still reported nowhere.
• When a shared board ends — the owner stopped sharing, or removed you — your own board comes back in its place, and a line above the board says what happened. Going back needs a new invitation.
• iPad: each column carries its own name and count, pinned to the top so cards scroll under it. Tapping a name in the bar above scrolls the board to that column and lights it for a moment.
• The tip about private cards now sits in the row it is explaining, closes when you close it, and stays closed.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-11

One Board is a board on iPad now — and sharing between two phones is fixed.

• iPad: a screen wide enough for the whole board shows the whole board. Every column at once, in portrait or landscape, in Split View or Slide Over, each column with its own row for adding a card. iPhone is unchanged: one column at a time, with the next one peeking in.
• A private card now names the device it is actually on, rather than always saying "this phone".

### 1.1 — 2026-09-11

Say why a card matters, and celebrate the moment a list goes clear.

• Give a card an intent: a little help, together, no rush, or it matters to me. Four words for the tone behind the card, without starting a conversation on it. Optional, and it changes nothing else — the card is still claimed, finished and archived like any other.
• Tick the last open item in a checklist column and both phones celebrate: leaves over the board and an "All clear!" card.
• Fixed: your partner's "finished your card" notification now arrives while One Board is in the background, instead of waiting until you next open the app.
• Fixed: the new-card row stays in sight when the keyboard covers half the column.
• An invitation now names whose board you are joining.
