## Newest reviews (15 of 136)

### 2/5 — lacks polish, needs block functionality

*2025-08-30, version 0.13.16*

the block button is imperative to any social app. please prioritize for the safety of your users.

### 2/5 — Buggy App - Needs Better QA Before Shipping

*2025-06-11, version 0.13.15*

This app, nor its team, are ready for prime time. The production app is buggy, consistently fails on the login screen, and is incredibly slow in responsiveness. The idea is solid, the execution beyond a miss. Would not recommend.

### 3/5 — needs update

*2025-03-06, version 0.13.14*

app keeps pausing and freezing at agreements to terms and conditions page

### 4/5 — App Won’t Open

*2025-01-30, version 0.13.13*

Not sure what’s going on, but I keep getting alerts about posts. However, when I go to access the app, it’s telling me they’ve updated Terms and Conditions, with a button to click to “Agree”. But I cannot click the button because it’s frozen and I can’t click on anything at all. This has now been for over a week and a half. Not sure what the actual issue is here.

Update 1/30/2025:
I have updated my rating of this app from a 1 Star review for complete lack of usability, to a a 4 Star rating, due to prompt and friendly communication by the OneRoof team. I had deleted and redownloaded the OneRoof app on my phone to fix the previously mentioned issue. I noticed today that I did receive an email yesterday from their team. However, the issue had been taken care of already. I actually enjoy this app. My apartment community keeps in touch and informed with all specific details regarding our apartment building and surrounding areas. The only reason I didn’t give the app 5 Stars is because it appears to charge for pretty standard adjustments like “Dark Mode”. That’s a bit strange to me, as many people, especially like myself, prefer dark mode due to eye sensitivity. Staring at a screen all day for work and then looking at your phone, I find that dark mode causes much less strain than the standard appearance. But otherwise, I think this is a pretty good app. I even got a great recommendation on a local bbq spot, after posting a question to the community. I love that you’re able to help your neighbors out in that way.

### 3/5 — Buggy and spammy notifications

*2024-12-19, version 0.13.9*

I get push notifications about EVERYTHING because the app doesn’t let you customize by channel. No, I don’t want to be bugged about local businesses or random groups that I got added to and can’t leave. Even when I mute groups I still get push notifications.

There is no replacement for now so I have to keep using it. I wish it was smoother.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-12-05, version 0.13.7*

App automatically crashes upon open

### 3/5 — Corporate greed has got this one too

*2024-10-12*

Hilarious that basic things like being able to search messages and dark mode are paywalled behind a subscription. Who are the greedy people making these decisions?

Maybe focus more on fixing the numerous basic bugs that the app has, which are embarrassing really to be seen in a messaging app in 2024. And what is with the whole swipe left/right Tinderificafion? Its not a dating app, no one needs to swipe on new neighbours.

The idea is really good, but the execution is pretty bad unfortunately.

### 1/5 — This app is built for bullies

*2024-09-28, version 0.13.1*

The only reason for this app is for people to bully others. They hide behind their policies and allow misinformation to spread. I think this app is horrible and should be shut down.

### 1/5 — Why are basic messaging options premium?

*2024-09-12, version 0.12.24*

Kind of ridiculous of what could have been great.
Premium features are just normal variations in any other app.
Why charge more to reach your neighbors when building a community is literally the entire purpose.

It’s giving Frye festival of social media now.

Signed - someone who onboarded 20+ people in my building.

Ads, exclusive blast from businesses, go b2b, but charging the end user is not a good revenue stream.

### 1/5 — Have to pay for Dark Mode?? Absolute greed

*2024-09-11, version 0.12.24*

Total nonsense that a neighborhood app of all things wants us to pay for a feature that’s free everywhere else.

### 3/5 — Ok app, but room for improvement.

*2024-09-10*

Going to a post directly from a push notification usually doesn’t work at all. You get a blank screen and nothing happens at all. Seems like something obvious that the development team should have caught.

Also, 3.99 per month to enable dark mode? For a feature that does not require any extra compute or infrastructure on your end to support? Absolutely not. Please rethink the paid features, otherwise it just seems like a pointless cash grab. I’m not against a monthly or annual fee in principle, but limit it to things that actually cost you money, not for cosmetic changes that require no extra bandwidth or server capacity to implement and support.

### 4/5 — This is a fantastic app. Really like the privacy aspect but also.

*2024-08-20, version 0.12.23*

Only thing is I can’t comment on posts which is fine because privacy is important. The only way you can respond is in a DM. Maybe a third option to start a chat or comment?

### 1/5 — Won’t delete profile

*2024-07-20, version 0.12.20*

Someone hung a few of these without complex. We assumed it was the property. However, our property has just informed us they are not associated with nor gave permission for these to be places. Submitted request to delete profile, I don’t feel safe not knowing if the ppl even live in my building or if they are just collecting my information. No response from the company after 2 request.

### 1/5 — Stop giving me pop ups for your surveys

*2024-07-10, version 0.12.20*

I’ll rank 1 star always when you interrupt me for a ranking for you.

### 2/5 — Need ability to mute or block users

*2024-06-30, version 0.12.19*

App is fun in theory, but some people in the neighborhood just spam product listings or services and it’s annoying beyond belief. Uninstalling

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Features don’t work, cannot cancel subscription

*2025-08-04, version 0.13.15*

I was prompted to upgrade to a paid premium subscription so that I could search for messages older than 7 days. I did upgrade, but now my search doesn’t work at all… What’s worse is I cannot cancel my subscription. Absolutely terrible app experience.

### 1/5 — Unmutes group chats on its own

*2025-07-10, version 0.13.15*

Muting notifications for group chats doesn’t work. Whether I mute them individually or in the settings.

### 1/5 — waste of time

*2025-07-02, version 0.13.15*

it is so incredibly frustrating having to use this to communicate with neighbors in my building and surrounding areas. messages never load, i get notifications but can’t actually see messages and sometimes they are time sensitive and don’t load for hours. the block button is useless as i am still constantly flooded with messages from users i have blocked. this also doesn’t allow you to silence notifications directly on the app.

### 1/5 — Cannot sign up ?

*2025-05-24, version 0.13.15*

Tried email, apple and google ?

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-04-23, version 0.13.14*

No help on the app. Reached out twice to fix something and it hasn’t yet.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate buildings, no support

*2025-04-23, version 0.13.14*

Awful experience — wouldn’t get it for your building. My building has a group but no one can add me to it, I have to search for it myself … except the building doesn’t appear in searches. Multiple support requests unanswered over weeks. So all I get is spam from people in other buildings.

### 1/5 — Location error

*2025-03-17, version 0.13.14*

Error getting location sign up

### 1/5 — Everything is now behind a paywall

*2025-02-05, version 0.13.14*

Used to be a good app but now they try to charge you for everything. Completely absurd and ridiculously greedy. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — No images to display

*2025-01-27, version 0.13.11*

Please update the bug of not showing the listed images in the neighborhood section.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-01-15*

I can’t upload any photos to a post. I get an error or nothing happens at all after I click add. Tried reinstalling app, but forgot my password. The app has no place to “reset password”. It says “send is an email”, which I did and got no response. So I created an entirely new account and now it keeps asking me to verify my account via my phone number, but then tells me that number is already registered. Wasn’t a great app to start with (lot annoying people posting and being over dramatic about neighborhood noises) but now it’s not even usable for any purpose.

### 5/5 — Tyler Stephenson

*2024-07-09*

This is an excellent tool to communicate and inform and should be used as such. There are a handful of individuals on here who need to use common sense when posting their thoughts, for they need to understand they can harm people with their words. However, common sense is not common. I feel some guidelines could be helpful for all. Let’s use this tool to build rather than tear down.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! If you encounter any harmful posts, please report them directly on the app or email us at support@oneroofapp.com. We'll look into it right away. Let's keep building a positive community together!

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2024-02-17, version 0.12.0*

Love the new UI released this year. Simple and easy to navigate. Being able to tap into my neighbors to water my plants while abroad has been an absolute game changer. Highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — MUST have

*2024-02-09, version 0.12.0*

Very nice app, last update makes the app so cool and useful. Super helpful to connect with fellow neighbors in the same building or geographic area.

### 5/5 — Thank you thank you

*2023-07-29, version 0.11.34*

I have thought of creating something like this for myself for awhile and I am so happy someone else finally created it! I have been using the app to sell my stuff I no longer need but hopefully can give to a new home. I also met my neighbour barb and her dog more personally after only ever making quick hellos in the hallway. Great concept! I will continue to use!

### 5/5 — Love This!

*2023-07-29, version 0.11.34*

Amazing app, easy to use and helps you meet new people! While I was in Vancouver this really helped me to meet new friends in my building and find my community in the big city!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-07-24, version 0.11.32*

I love using OneRoof. I think the app is technically designed for your phone, but I use it on my macbook so I can see what's going on in town from my computer.
