### 5/5 — An absolute lifesaver for tourists!

Super helpful app. It made finding local restaurants, bakeries and breakfast spots effortless while traveling. Thanks to the app, we found our favorite places like Boots & Kimo’s, Leonard’s Bakery, and Liliha Bakery 🤤. Definitely a must-download before your trip!

### 5/5 — Awesome app Hawaii food!

*2026-07-27*

This app is great. Super easy to use and the reviews are very reliable. It’s also easy to add reviews, which, on other apps can be kind of cumbersome. I can see this being helpful both for locals and tourists. It also will be great for restaurants who want to be found. Props to the creator for making this!

### 5/5 — The Only Hawaii Food App You’ll Need

*2026-07-27*

As someone who loves finding authentic local food, this app is exactly what I was looking for. Instead of digging through hundreds of random Google reviews or TikTok videos, Ono gives you curated recommendations that actually feel trustworthy.

The design is beautiful, fast, and easy to use. I especially like that it doesn’t just list restaurants. it highlights signature dishes, local favorites, hidden gems, and food trucks. The food passport and progress tracking make exploring Hawaii feel like a fun challenge instead of just another search.

What really stands out is that this app feels like it was built by people who actually know Hawaii, not tourists. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’ve lived here for years, you’ll discover places you probably would’ve missed.

I’d love to see it expand to all the Hawaiian islands in the future, but for Oahu, it’s already become my go-to food guide.

Highly recommended if you want to eat like a local instead of wasting time on endless review sites. 🌺🤙

### 5/5 — Awesome App!!

*2026-07-27*

This app helped me find the best places to eat here on the island. Love how easy it is to use. It also has a social aspect to it so you can see what Ono grinds they found. Will be using this app from now on when I need to find somewhere to eat!

### 5/5 — Bringing me to all the local gems!

*2026-07-26*

I usually use Google Maps to find spots but most of the time I get let down due to popularity being a major factor. This app right here makes it easy to find the best local spots that are not just delicious but well priced.

### 5/5 — Best Hawaii Food App

*2026-07-26*

This app is one of the best ways to find local food in Hawaii. It has a great selection of restaurants, from local plate lunch spots to popular favorites, and ordering is simple and easy. The app is user-friendly and it’s a great way to support local businesses. I would love to see even more restaurant options added over time, but overall it’s been a great experience. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for good food in Hawaii!

### 5/5 — Da Best

*2026-07-26*

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5 — 2026-08-23

Fixed a crash. Tapping “View all” or one of the craving tiles on the Food Trucks tab would drop you out of the app instead of opening the list — that’s sorted.

The island map does something now, too: tap a neighborhood pin and you get every truck parked in that area. The truck cards got a cleanup while we were in there — bigger photos, hours you can actually read, and less clutter between you and the thing you’re deciding on.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-22

Food Trucks got a browse upgrade. Pick a craving — dessert, burgers, garlic shrimp, Mexican, plate lunch, or noodles — instead of scrolling the whole roster, filter to what's open right now, and see real photos on the trucks we've got them for.

We've also removed the location check on "I ate here." Checking in no longer requires your phone to confirm you're standing at the spot — it's a straightforward log now, not a verification.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-11

Markets and food events got a full rebuild. Every market has its own page now, with a real schedule behind it — weekly, monthly, or one-off dates — so you can see what's actually on tonight instead of guessing whether a market runs this week. Filter the list to day markets, night markets, or one-time events.

You can also plan a meal with friends: pick a spot and a time, send the link, and anyone can open it to see the details and say they're in — no account needed. Elsewhere, trending dishes now stand out on the map, check-ins are more reliable, and new signups confirm their email address before the account is created.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-01

Every spot now tells you why it made the guide — a short editorial note on what makes the place worth going to, and what to order when you get there. We've also added photos of the dishes each spot is known for, three new collections (best bakeries, cafes and burgers), and a rebuilt Near Me that narrows by distance, price and cuisine.

The leaderboard now scores everyone on the same rules, so the rankings are finally accurate. Your own number may move — that's the fix, not a bug.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-26

Smoother map and better recommendations throughout the app. We've also tightened up how check-ins confirm you're actually at the restaurant, and refreshed our privacy policy to spell out exactly what we measure — and what we never share.
