## What is OnPoint Legal Billing?

OnPoint Legal Billing is built for attorneys, from solo practitioners to members of large law firms. Capture the day in your own words, and send bills written in the language clients expect.

ROUGH NOTES IN, BILL-READY LANGUAGE OUT
• Polish uses OnPoint's proprietary logic system intertwined with frontier AI to turn a rough narrative into clean billing language with one tap.
• For example, "Talked to the other side's lawyer about the fence line disagreement" quickly becomes "Conference with opposing counsel re boundary dispute"
• Your words and the rewrite appear side by side; accept it or keep yours
• Polish never invents work you didn't describe. It rephrases, nothing more

YOUR ACCOUNTS, CONNECTED
• Link your Microsoft 365 / Outlook account and OnPoint drafts entries from your calendar and mail
• Meetings become timed entries; the day's correspondence clusters by client
• Complete suggestions save in one tap. Anything less fills the capture form for your review
• Suggestions are matched to your clients on your device. When you save or use a mail suggestion, the AI writes the entry from the text of those messages, and you can turn that off

BILLS YOUR CLIENTS TAKE SERIOUSLY
• Letterhead bills in Word, PDF, or Excel with your firm header and logo
• Per-client invoice numbering, issue and due dates, and a saved invoice history
• Export through the share sheet. Attach to an email or save to Files

CAPTURE TIME THE MOMENT IT HAPPENS
• Tap a client, tap the hours, save. An entry in seconds; a built-in timer when you'd rather clock the work live
• Tenths, quarter hours, fifths or half hours, your choice
• Optional phrase chips drop in the billing language you use every day

DICTATE YOUR DAY
• Chain Dictation is a dictation room: talk through your day and AI structures every entry: client, hours, matter, narrative
• Say "next entry" and keep going; approve everything with one tap

AN ASSISTANT THAT KNOWS YOUR LEDGER
• Ask "how many hours for ABC this month?" or "email the March bill as a PDF"
• Every bulk change shows a confirmation before anything is touched

KNOW WHAT YOU'RE SITTING ON
• Home shows what's unbilled and what clients owe; Billing lists every client with unbilled time and what it comes to
• Overdue bills are flagged with day counts; Remind drafts a courteous payment reminder

YOUR WHOLE FIRM, ONE BILL
• Invite colleagues from Settings. Everyone captures against shared firm clients and matters
• A review queue for the firm's time: approve, send back, or edit. You set how many approvals an entry needs, from none to three
• Consolidated firm invoices grouped by timekeeper, with per-matter subtotals and rates frozen when the bill is issued
• Rate cards, timekeeper summaries, payment recording, and firm-wide unbilled totals

YOUR CLIENTS' BUSINESS STAYS YOURS
• Entries sync privately to your own account; in a firm, the firm's administrators and reviewers see the time you record for it
• AI features receive the text you dictate or type, or the messages behind a mail suggestion you save or use, plus your client and matter names — never audio, never your documents
• No ads, no cross-app tracking. Product analytics see which features get used, never your entries, client names, or documents
• Optional Face ID lock; delete your account and every synced record in-app, any time

I was looking for a comprehensive billing platform for my law firm, and was surprised at how much this app was able to do for only $10 per month. Seriously, how is this only $10?? It does just about everything that Clio did for me. Very impressive.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.3 — 2026-10-19

Fixes and improvements:
• The welcome tour no longer gets stuck partway through on iPhone.
• Billing's "Ready to bill" list now updates as soon as you add, change or delete an entry, and Refresh works.
• Bills from new accounts now show your initials instead of part of your email address.
• Payment dates show your local day.
• Costs such as filing fees no longer show as "hasn't uploaded yet."

### 2.0.2 — 2026-10-12

• Continue with Apple: create your account or sign in with your Apple ID. No password to remember.
• Pay online on your bills: Word and PDF bills now carry a Pay online button under the amount due, in both bill styles, when you've added your payment link.
• The Modern bill style now comes in Word, too.
• A reminder to log your first entry: when you sign up, OnPoint can remind you at 4:30 on your next weekdays until your first entry is in.
• The Assistant now answers every question with AI and keeps track of the conversation.
• Tap the eye in the password box to see what you typed.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-10-11

OnPoint Time & Billing is now OnPoint Legal Billing. Same app, same account, same data.

Also new: in light mode, Summary shows the days close to your goal in a deeper blue, so they stand out.

### 2.0 — 2026-09-30

A new layout: five tabs along the bottom of the screen.

- Time is where you capture, and it's the first thing you see. A running timer shows on the Time tab from any screen.
- Review holds your entries and your Summary. If you review for a firm, the time waiting on you is there too: tap an entry to approve, edit, send back or reassign it.
- Home is your day at a glance: today's hours, the week, what's unbilled and what clients owe.
- Billing lists every client with unbilled time, the bills you've issued, and trust.
- Assistant brings together Ask, Chain Dictation and suggested entries from your calendar and mail.

Settings is behind the gear at the top right of every screen.

A new look, Studio, is now the default: white, or Midnight when you'd rather have dark. Switch with the sun and moon at the top of the Time tab. If you used Professional, you've been moved to Studio. Every theme is still in Settings, under Appearance.

Also new:
- When you save or use a suggestion from your mail, the AI writes the entry from the text of those messages. You can turn this off in Settings, under Connected accounts.
- A reminder at 5:30 pm on weekdays asks whether anything is missing from your day. Change the time or turn it off in Settings, under Capture.
- Quick phrases are now optional. Turn them on in Settings, under Capture.
- For firms, the monthly "my time is complete" step is gone.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-24

Moving to OnPoint from another system? Import your clients and matters from a spreadsheet. Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther and QuickBooks exports all work, and so does a list pasted straight out of Excel. Your own client codes are kept exactly as they are, nothing already in OnPoint is changed, and nothing is ever deleted.

Also in this version:
- Mark your favourite clients with a star and they sit at the front of your client row.
- Your client row is in alphabetical order.
- Fixes a problem that stopped time entries from syncing to your other devices.
