## What is Ontdek de regio?

This app offers you a great number of beautiful audio tours through the Gooi & Vecht region. Enjoy!

Within a stone’s throw of the cities of Amsterdam, Utrecht, and Almere, the Gooi & Vecht area allows you to enjoy in all peace and quiet the many varied touristic attractions. This area, the Dutch television network capital of Hilversum being its lively center, truly is a rich oasis of quiet, space, nature, unique waters, and historical highlights. And last but not least: very good restaurants and shopping possibilities. No wonder this area is also known as the Garden of Amsterdam. 

In this area, and within a short distance from each other, you’ll find the river Vecht, which is indisputably Holland’s most beautiful river, the lively Loosdrecht Lakes, the stately old estates in ’s-Graveland and the Gooi Nature Reserve’s extensive heathlands and forests. Historical villages such as Laren, Muiderberg, and Blaricum are absolutely worth a visit. And don’t miss out on strongholds and fortified towns like Naarden, Muiden, Bussum, and Weesp, some of which are part of Unesco’s World Heritage. Not to forget the area’s characteristic old harbor of Huizen. Everywhere you go you will find the finest little shops, the most enjoyable terraces and the very best restaurants. There is a choice of bed & breakfasts, and of course, the area boasts a number of luxurious hotels of very good report.
