## What is OnTheList?

One list for everything you want to watch.

OnTheList keeps every film and show you mean to get round to in a single place, whether it's streaming tonight, showing at the cinema this week, or still months away.

WHERE TO WATCH, WITHOUT THE HUNT
Every title shows exactly where it's available: which services are streaming it, where to rent or buy, and whether it's on at the cinema. Tap through and you land straight in the right app.

BRING YOUR LIST WITH YOU
Import a Letterboxd watchlist, or paste a list from anywhere: your notes, a spreadsheet, a message from a friend. Bullets, numbering, years and ratings are all understood, and duplicates are removed before anything is added.

BUILT AROUND WHAT'S ACTUALLY OUT
Filter your list by what you can watch right now, what's in cinemas, or what's still coming. No more scrolling past films that aren't out yet when you just want something for tonight.

RATINGS IN ONE VIEW
Rotten Tomatoes, audience scores, IMDb, Metacritic and Letterboxd - side by side, so you can decide in seconds instead of opening five tabs.

SHARE WITH THE PEOPLE YOU WATCH WITH
Add friends by QR code or a link. See their lists, spot the things you both want to watch, and stop having the same "what shall we put on?" conversation every night.

KEEP TRACK OF WHAT YOU'VE SEEN
Mark things watched and give them a quick reaction. Your Seen list builds itself, and your recommendations get better as it grows.

CINEMA MODE
Heading out to see something? OnTheList can spot cinema trips in your calendar, remind you at showtime, and take your rating one tap after the credits roll. Your calendar is read on your device and never leaves it.

ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
Widgets put your shortlist and your next release where you'll actually see them, and Lock Screen widgets keep the next one to look forward to a glance away.

MADE FOR IPHONE AND IPAD
On iPad your list sits beside a live dashboard: what you and a friend both want to watch, what's on at the cinema now, and anything you have seen but not yet rated. Friends works the same way, with each friend's list opening next to the roster. Keyboard shortcuts and trackpad support throughout.

Free, no ads, no subscription.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-31

Showtime reminders are smarter and clearer.

OnTheList now checks up to 30 days ahead for upcoming screenings, shows how many reminders are scheduled, and explains when calendar or notification access needs attention. Showtime sessions follow your booked time more accurately and make it easier to rate a title when it ends.

Also in this version:
• The list and Friends make better use of space on iPad
• Lists and recommendations stay steady while refreshing
• Profile Seen and Loved totals are counted correctly
• Better reliability when changing country or switching accounts

### 1.2.1 — 2026-08-26

The numbers on your profile now open things.

Tap "to watch", "seen" or "loved" on your profile and your list opens at exactly that. The old Loved screen in Settings has gone: your Seen list already filters by every reaction, loved and liked and not for me, so there is one place for all of them instead of a separate screen for one.

Also in this version:
• Settings explains what each setting does, including what your country decides
• The cinema switch is called Cinema reminders now, which is what it actually does
• With a keyboard attached, Command and comma opens Settings

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-22

iPad, properly!

Your list now sits beside a live dashboard: what you and a friend both want to watch, what's on at the cinema, and anything you've seen but not yet rated. Friends works the same way, with each friend's list opening right next to the roster.

Also in this version:

• Marking something Seen is one tap, and rating it afterwards is optional
• Search now lives inside The list on iPad
• Keyboard shortcuts and trackpad support throughout
• A clearer Letterboxd import, and pasted lists now ask you when two titles share a name

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-10

Fixes:
• Friend invite links now open the invite when you tap them, including right after signing in.
• Friends without a username no longer show as a bare "@".
• You can now pick up to ten favourites on your profile.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-06

No release notes.
