## Newest reviews (12 of 36)

### 3/5 — Onto app

*2023-05-06, version 3.12.0*

The app is ok but doesn’t allow you to see your mileage patterns over recent months, or give you a breakdown of past bills

### 2/5 — Good service, rubbish app

*2022-07-30, version 3.4.11*

I like the service, but the app is only useful for seeing how many miles you have left. The only way to update the battery data is to force quit the app it seems. Battery data also doesn’t update while the car is charging.

### 1/5 — Seriously disappointing

*2022-05-31, version 3.4.7*

I’ve been waiting for a refund for a month.

I initially requested it 30th April, I was pleased because they responded fairly quick and promised a refund within 7 working days. I didn’t receive it and emailed again on 12th may where they apologised and said I would receive it as soon as possible..it’s not 31st and I still haven’t received it.

The reason I wanted to cancel is due to living on a road in central London and not having access to private parking means I’ll have to pay and additional parking fee everyday. If parking was included and if this worked then it would be ideal to proceed with.

I would be advise those thinking about joining to re-think as reviews are not great as it is.

### 3/5 — Love onto, but the app is not fit for purpose.

*2022-05-22, version 3.4.7*

The app alone would be 1* but given I like onto, I don’t want to be too harsh

Luckily you don’t need to use the app heavily to use the service (which I’ve no complaints with) but the app is just awful

Battery remaining % and mileage remaining on your contract are often woefully outdated and go weeks without updating

Car location sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. You’re supposed to be able to track the car when it’s on its way to you but that never works and it shows it still at the depot, even when the driver arrives outside

Remote lock and unlock “works” but is too slow to be usable and when you have a physical key, there is just no contest, so it’s worthless. Though I am glad you have a physical key because I’d think twice if I was made to use the app alone.

You are told to lock and unlock the car with the app regularly to “kickstart” it (which in itself sounds very outdated), but I’ve tried that and it makes no difference. It has a mind of its own.

The only thing you have to use the app for is taking possession of the car (clicking a key button). Beyond that, I don’t find I need it, or use it

Don’t want to be hard on the onto service and concept but I would say, if you’re going to have an app, make it good, or else don’t bother, because you just get criticism. I get it, you’re trying to make a fleet of different cars interact with your technology and some will be better than others, but I’d say if it doesn’t work seamlessly, you’re doing yourselves a disservice by even releasing the app and trying to stand behind it

### 1/5 — Crap app and poor customer service

*2022-01-14, version 3.4.0*

Do your research first. App is useless and customer service is 0

### 1/5 — App doesn’t connect to car

*2021-12-30, version 3.3.1*

Fortunately we have a key for the car and are getting on just fine without using the app, because the app hasn’t updated the car’s information since mid November when it was near Liverpool. Now it’s a long way north of there and someone else was using it in between.
Thank goodness we don’t need the app for anything important like getting into the car! Or knowing how many miles we’ve got left this month…???

### 1/5 — Great idea. Useless app

*2021-12-12, version 3.3.1*

The Onto concept is great. I’m really enjoying my car. But the app is totally useless. It doesn’t let me unlock the car. Most of the time it doesn’t properly locate the car. I’ve tried to report damage on it and it doesn’t work. You don’t need the app to have a car but if you are going to have an app make sure it works. I’ve reported the issues to Onto and after some initial engagement they went silent. Real shame.

### 1/5 — Get a key

*2021-10-16, version 3.2.0*

I’m not sure how anyone can rate this 5* must be family and friends! All I can say is make sure you get a key off them.

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2021-09-07, version 3.2.0*

Just started using Onto and seems to work well, please feel free to use my referral code to get a discount: c6ff9

### 1/5 — Update. Can’t browse without joining the database.

*2021-05-04, version 3.0.1*

Well that was a lie wasn’t it. My original review was 1* as they want your personal info before being able to browse. Developer response said they’d corrected this. I downloaded the app again... no ability to browse without giving my license details. If you’re going to lie, I’m definitely not giving you my info.

### 1/5 — Fantastic Idea. Poor execution.

*2020-11-29, version 2.1.6*

These people are somewhat dishonest. They keep telling me that the car I want to switch to is “not available”. In fact it is available but they won’t let existing customers book it. I want to switch to a new car on 18 December but they won’t let me and insist I do it on 21 December. I’m happy to k pay extra but computer says no.

They advertise that you can switch cars using the app but in fact you can’t and they make it difficult to do.

The car turned up at 10 at night but was supposed to be here in the morning. They only delivered it as I made a fuss and thought it was acceptable to deliver the following Monday. Don’t rely on these people to deliver a car when they say they will.

When the car turned up the app didn’t work and spent ages trying to get the phone to connect to the car - so couldn’t get in the car. Spent ages on hold to get through to them. Turns out you just have to toggle Bluetooth on and off. Nothing about about that on their FAQ pages.

Turns out they only have one person on duty answering phone calls so if they’re busy you’re f**ked. Glad I didn’t break down by the side of the road.

They advertise this as being easy but every interaction I’ve had with them so far has been p*** poor. Avoid.

### 2/5 — Excellent app if only it would work !

*2020-09-03, version 2.1.6*

I had the car since 20.08.20 . In 2 weeks I already experienced 4 glitches . The first one was not bad , after calling customer services I deleted the application and re-installled, It did not work. I then switched off my phone and back on , I was good to go. This week after finishing work the app wasn’t working , again switch off / on 3 days in a row. On the third day the the off/on trick did not work , I deleted the app but unable to reinstall ... Called Customer services , 20 min wait no answer ..finally and luckily I had my tablet and installed the app on my tablet , I then managed to open the car. Not pretty while it’s raining !

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — collective and massive incompetence

*2024-05-28, version 3.14.7*

There’s a reason these fools are in administration, it’s all about collective incompetence and a group IQ of 1.

### 1/5 — No longer updates

*2024-03-20, version 3.14.4*

The App has stopped updating and basically did not work any more

### 1/5 — Disappointing experience

*2023-05-24, version 3.12.0*

I used their service for a couple of months. The car was fine and the staff professional; however I was extremely disappointed to be charged £280 for scratches on the front wheel alloys when I returned the vehicle. Even more so as those charges were levied for ‘fixing’ those scratches rather than replacing the alloys. I would not advice others to use this company or, at the very least, be very careful of the extra charges

### 1/5 — Do not use

*2023-05-17, version 3.12.0*

Great cars, but you will be overcharged hundreds of pounds, they will literally try to trick you and steal money from you as soon as you relax

### 1/5 — Renault Zoe s line

*2023-02-15, version 3.10.0*

Broke down at 3k miles. Onto was no help left me stranded on a A road when their meant to have me covered by RAC. Go for the more expensive ones they may be better. But customer service is dead, whole experience is just terrible for me. Hope this helps someone

### 1/5 — Terrible customer service

*2022-12-20, version 3.9.0*

I made a complaint with Onto back in June. I have had no rest since August despite several emails asking for an update.

In the meantime all they want to do is randomly take money that they are not owed and threaten you with legal action.

The price for everything keeps increasing and mileage allowance has gone from 1000 to 750. Collection and car swap price the latest to increase.

### 1/5 — Great concept, shame about the app!

*2022-11-05, version 3.8.0*

As others have stated, don’t expect the app to accurately reflect your:

- Mileage
- State of charge
- Location

Only refreshes every few hours so always a lag in the info for the above.

### 1/5 — Still waiting for refund

*2022-10-26, version 3.7.1*

Took £600 from me
drop the car off a week later closed my account
because the way I was driving the car
and I’m still waiting for my money back Customer service is crap charges
Added extra Charges are way too expensive
Please avoid and be very cautious if you are signed up with them

### 1/5 — App Doesn’t Work

*2022-07-29, version 3.4.11*

Okay, so I’ve not yet subscribed for a car, but was thinking about it. However, a few days ago I used the app and could browse nicely through all the cars etc… Yesterday and today I tried using the app and I just get a bunch of raw HTML displayed on my phone when I try to browse the cars. Could I suggest a bit more investment in getting the UX right and tightening up the app. The concept is great, but the solution is shaky at the moment.

### 1/5 — Terrible!!

*2022-06-06, version 3.4.7*

Terrible UX and functionality, the updates work only sometimes and are sporadic.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Absolute 5 star app and service

*2023-04-12, version 3.11.0*

I’ve started off with Onto having a Renault Zoe GT line as a forced solution due to my car gave up and I was not in a position to buy a new one straight away (It was in December which is the worst month to buy cars, as the current year models will be way cheaper next year when dealerships will try to get rid of the stock).

Anyway, the essential solution of having a car basically instantly (it was delivered in 6 days) was simply great, the car was almost brand new (2,5k miles only), and I loved it. Really. Then I actually could have had a new leasing last month and I was genuinely thinking of buying a Tesla Model 3 LR, but no matter how I researched and how many companies I’ve been talking the monthly leasing plus the insurance would have cost me more, than having it rented from Onto, not talking about potential maintenance, charging etc. So I made a step and upgraded my car to the car I was dreaming about, and I could not be happier.

Currently this is far the best affordable solution to drive a top of the range car. And I’m smiling every time I drive. My family loves it. And I never have to think about car costs anymore. One single payment at the start of the lease, and EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED.

Customer support is great, nothing is too much trouble, always being transparent, and helpful. (Had a little damage on the Zoe’s rear wheel, they’ve sorted it on Wholesale price and only charged me the money they had to pay.)

Thanks guys, I’m pretty sure I will be a very long time customer.

### 5/5 — Onto

*2023-04-04, version 3.11.0*

Brilliantplkjllk

### 5/5 — Good app with useful features!

*2022-05-05, version 3.4.6*

Good app and works well with my EV. It has some useful features like lock & unlock (in case I forget my key) and it can also show me where my car is located and how many miles are left in my subscription.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2022-04-08, version 3.4.4*

It’s simple and effective. Monthly Miles left, battery state of charge. Lock and unlock. Never had any problems.

### 5/5 — Money saving and good for the environment

*2021-10-20, version 3.2.0*

I was paying over £600 per month for my car by the time you added up finance payments, insurance, fuel, tax, MOT and servicing. Now I only pay £460 per month for everything and I have a brand new car and I’ve reduced my carbon footprint. On.to have been really easy to deal with and for this it matters to, it’s great to have a lease without the long term commitment and high initial outlay and no credit check either. If you want to give it a go, You’re welcome to use my referral code 188bb, for £50 off your first month. 😊

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-07-28, version 3.2.0*

Love it, car amazing

Use 1a565 for £50 off your first booking

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2021-05-15, version 3.0.2*

I love onto. Can’t recommend them highly enough. If you’re considering it, feel free to use my referral code and we both save £50. e6832

This has taken all of the headaches out of having a nice car, no lengthy contacts, no hassle!

I’ve been with onto for several months, No credit checks or deposits when you want to change cars. literally the price they quote is the price you pay- and it really does include everything. They’re constantly adding extra’s to the service, such as reward points. I can swap cars with a few days notice- and it literally costs me £50 delivery to swap. The customer service is top notch, they’re always on hand, so straight forward to deal with.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2021-03-04, version 3.0.0*

Great concept, very good app and much better for our beautiful planet. Here’s a referral code 523dd that will save you some money.

### 5/5 — Great app for EVEZY vehicles

*2020-05-03, version 2.1.3*

Essential app for using my Renault Zoe from EVEZY to start with. Now using this app with my Tesla Model 3 and the user experience is even better! First class execution EVEZY once again!

### 5/5 — Extremely Reliable Service

*2019-09-11, version 2.1.1*

This app is brilliant for the Renault Zoe - it shows the current location, state of charge and miles remaining on your booking. It also has some additional information that acts as a shortcut rather than having to go to the Evezy website. There’s also a handy button to open the charge port on the Zoe.

There’s two improvements I would like to see for the Zoe: add the pre-warm button from the car remote to the application and add Apple Shortcuts capability so you can connect and unlock the car in one click or one Siri command.

If you’re in any doubt about using the Evezy service, don’t worry - it’s been flawless for me since picking up the car back in April and there have been regular app updates too.
