## What is Onyx?

Most fitness apps track. Onyx decides.

It reads how recovered you are this morning, then writes the workout to match. It knows what you ate, what you lifted last Tuesday, and what your sleep did to your HRV — and it uses all of it to tell you what to do today.

One app instead of four.

A COACH THAT KNOWS YOUR NUMBERS

Ask "why has my HRV been lower this week?" and get an answer about your Tuesday drinks and your 3pm espresso — not a Wikipedia paragraph. Coach reads your actual training history, food log, sleep and recovery. Ask it to build a session and it builds one you can start in a tap.

EATING OUT, SOLVED

Point your camera at the menu. Onyx reads it and ranks every dish against what you have left for the day — best pick first, with the one line that explains why it wins. No hunting a database for a restaurant that was never in it.

IT NOTICES BEFORE YOU DO

Resting heart rate creeping up, HRV down, breathing off your baseline — the signals that drift a day or two ahead of the sore throat. Onyx watches them and speaks up while there's still time to back off.

SESSIONS BUILT ON PURPOSE

Pick a focus and get a real session: the lift that deserves you fresh goes first, complementary angles follow, isolation finishes. Ask for arms and you get a triceps compound, a biceps compound, then long-head and lateral-head work.

A GOAL THAT CORRECTS ITSELF

Onyx measures your real maintenance calories as you log, and moves your target when your metabolism does. You don't recalculate anything.

YOUR BLOODWORK, READ

Snap your lab panel or import the PDF. Onyx pulls every biomarker, flags what's off, charts it over time, and tells you what it means for your training — low ferritin means less oxygen on board, so it eases your intensity until it comes back up. A heads-up, not a diagnosis.

WORKS WITH WHAT YOU ALREADY WEAR

Built on Apple Health. Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, Fitbit — your pick. No hardware to buy, no subscription to a band. Onyx also has a full Apple Watch app that runs a whole session on your wrist with your phone in a locker.

• Sleep scored on depth, efficiency, consistency and breathing
• Cardio Load and training-load balance — are you ramping too fast?

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.0 — 2026-08-18

Feature Pack 3.0 — the biggest release since launch.

EATING OUT, SOLVED
Point your camera at the menu. Onyx reads it and ranks every dish against the calories and protein you have left — best pick first, with the reason it wins.

IT NOTICES BEFORE YOU DO
Resting heart rate up, HRV down, breathing off your baseline — the three signals that drift a day or two ahead of the sore throat. Onyx now watches all of them, and the reading costs nothing.

ASK FOR ARMS. GET AN ARM DAY.
Sessions are built the way a coach would build them — the lift that deserves you fresh goes first, isolation finishes. Chest, Back, Shoulders, Arms and Glutes are all focuses now.

YOUR WATCH WORKS ALONE
The Apple Watch app now runs a full session on your wrist with no phone in the room. Your workout syncs back when you reconnect.

RECOVERY READS YOUR WHOLE NIGHT
Sleep now scores breathing quality, not just hours. Blood oxygen, heart-rate recovery and time on your feet feed your daily read for the first time.

AND EVERYTHING ELSE
• A weight goal that corrects your calories as you drift
• Form notes on all 213 movements
• How regular your sleep actually is — and what weekends cost you
• Are your training days too similar? Onyx will say so
• Pacing analysis on every steady cardio session
• VO₂ max ranked against your age group, not shown as a bare number
• Food you can look into — additives, processing, real facts
• Every screen leads with the answer, then one thing to do
• Coach rebuilt: copy an answer, stop it mid-thought, follow up in a tap
• Personal bests, and sending a workout to a friend
• Dozens of fixes to weights, rest and streak maths

### 2.8.1 — 2026-08-01

Shared routes now carry your numbers

Share a run and the image comes with your distance, time, and pace on it, plus the Onyx mark. No more sending friends an unlabeled squiggle.

Log food from your widget

The Calories widget gained a Log food button that opens straight to food entry instead of dropping you on the Fuel tab.

Bigger text, properly

The Today hero and cardio summaries now respond to your text size setting instead of ignoring it. New widgets also read correctly with VoiceOver.

Fixes

- A Strength or Other workout started on the Apple Watch could save to Health without ever appearing in Onyx. Fixed.
- Recovery widgets, complications, and notifications now open the recovery detail directly instead of just the Today tab.
- Onyx Pro plans and pricing are clearer, and free trials now show the exact date your trial ends.

### 2.8 — 2026-07-16

Onyx 2.8 is our biggest update yet. Onyx now doesn't just track your health, it acts on it.

Recovery Mode
When your signals say you're getting run down, Onyx proposes a plan that eases your whole week: softer training, steady calories, more protein, and your streak protected. It lifts the plan on its own once you're back to baseline. Nothing changes until you tap Apply.

Your labs, put to work
Flagged bloodwork now turns into action. High LDL nudges your fiber target up, low iron eases your training, and every suggestion is a one-tap card with a plain-English why. A heads-up, not a diagnosis. Pro.

Future You
See where you're headed. Onyx projects your bodyweight and your key lifts weeks ahead from your own trend, with an honest confidence band. Pro.

Your Triggers
Tap how you feel each day. Over time Onyx connects it to your sleep and recovery and surfaces your personal patterns.

Your runs, beautifully mapped
Cardio and workout summaries got a full redesign: an immersive route map, your distance and pace up front, splits, and heart-rate zones painted onto the trail. Tap for full screen, then share your route.

Widgets for every glance
New Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets in every size: calories and macros left, a Today overview, plus roomier Recovery and streak widgets.

A smarter Apple Watch app
Your wrist now shows today at a glance even between workouts. Start a workout without your phone, and add Onyx complications to your watch face.

Plus dozens of fixes and refinements throughout.

### 2.7 — 2026-06-25

Onyx 2.7 is a big stability release, with a few upgrades you'll feel right away.

LABS, REDESIGNED
Your bloodwork now leads with what's off, charts every marker over time, and gives you a plain-English read you can hand straight to Coach.

WIDGETS WHEREVER YOU LOOK
Drop your recovery score and illness watch on your Lock Screen, Home Screen, and Apple Watch face — then tap straight through to the detail.

SLEEP YOU CAN TRUST
Last night's sleep now matches Apple Health to the minute, with a new "time to fall asleep" stat.

SMOOTHER ALL AROUND
Dozens of fixes across iCloud sync, the watch app, widgets, Live Activities, notifications, and onboarding — fewer surprises, faster screens, numbers you can rely on.

Thanks for using Onyx. Keep the feedback coming.

### 2.6 — 2026-06-20

Your workout left the app. Log sets and run rest timers from the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Swipe a session down into a pill and check your macros mid workout, then tap to jump back in.

Training blocks now read your body before they write your workout. Start a 4 to 8 week block, and when recovery tanks overnight, your heavy day moves. The reason is always shown.

Bring the labs you already have (Pro). Snap your bloodwork or import the PDF. Onyx extracts every marker with its reference range and flags what's off, so Coach remembers your ferritin was low when you ask why recovery feels flat.

Coach now builds more than answers. Ask for a workout, a week of meals, a full training program, or fresh calorie targets, and apply any of them in one tap.

Also new: a rest alarm that cuts through silent mode (opt-in), Siri answers "what's my readiness" without opening the app, Control Center shortcuts, an interval timer, live workout tracking without a Watch, home and Lock Screen widgets, and CSV export of everything you've logged.
