Start off on the right note every time with Onyx. This beautiful pitch pipe sports a three-octave range in C-C or F-F, with your choice of carefully crafted sounds: choose piano or clarinet to hear your note for several seconds, or switch to continuous playback mode* to loop strings or horns for as long as you like. Or, for pinpoint accuracy, use our custom sine wave generator instead and avoid those annoying loud pops that other apps can create. On iOS, all sounds can be tuned to your preferred frequency (due to technical limitations fine tuning is only available when using the Tone sound option on Apple Watch). I’m sure is probably very easy to make changes such as locking the octave you’re working on. It’s kinda annoying for example that even when you’re moving clockwise, if u pick a different note it will jump to a higher octave, which messes up your sense of pitch and melodic motion. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work on Apple Watch *2025-03-01* I’ve never been able to get this to work on my Apple Watch. No matter the settings, it doesn’t play any sound at all. Hopefully the developers will figure this out and give an update. ### 5/5 — Such a cool app *2024-09-14* Perfect design. Using this in a singing group. Able to select the pitch easily with haptic feedback (kind of like the old iPod wheels), the octave(s), and even set the hertz (e.g. 432hz instead of the default 440hz). I appreciate being able to select clarinet for the sound playback. Widget in unlocked screen jumps to pitch wheel every third time. I have iphone 14 pro max ios 17.5.1 Old review: Widget plays an A when C selected. No real people support for unexpected failures. After a trial of one hour no other problems found. ### 2/5 — Widget is gone *2023-02-13* Since the redesign the home screen widget options are gone. There is a lock screen widget, but it’s essentially just a shortcut to open the app. I wouldn’t have updated if I had realized this feature was going to be removed. **Developer response:** Hello, thanks for letting me know about this. Pitch please ran fine when I tried it immediately after buying it, but after I closed it and opened it again, I doesn’t make any sound.
