Widget in unlocked screen jumps to pitch wheel every third time. I have iphone 14 pro max ios 17.5.1 Old review: Widget plays an A when C selected. No real people support for unexpected failures. After a trial of one hour no other problems found. ### 4/5 — Where is the widget? *2020-11-19* Based on past reviews, I just purchased this app specifically for the availability of a widget. Edited: It is a bit confusing because of the iOS 14 update, but I was eventually able to get the widget on my phone. I’m not sure how I did it, but it’s there now and I love the app! Apple changed how this works with iOS 14 and moved things around, but it's definitely still there! ### 4/5 — Tuning *2020-07-14* I’ve used this app for years and I love it, but I literally just noticed that the pitches are significantly flat when compared to a piano. I don’t know if it’s always been this way or it’s due to a recent update, but either way I can’t use this in my singing group of it’s not tuned closer to A 440. This is very disappointing and I hope you guys fix it!!! **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback—the tuning of the pitch pipe is adjustable, so please check that you haven't unintentionally changed that setting (tap the gear icon in the bottom right-hand corner). Thanks again! ### 4/5 — Widget *2019-10-18, version 2.7.1* Love this app, but since the iOS 13 update, the widget sometimes does not work, regardless of whether or not the phone is in silent mode. ### 4/5 — Continuous tone? *2019-09-18* Nice simple app, would be nice to be able to adjust the duration of the tone, and/or have it play until manually stopped. ### 3/5 — Not bad *2017-02-13* Could do with a loop button to continuously play the note so you didn't have to hit the centre play button each time. Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference! Thanks for responding so quickly to the feedback. ### 4/5 — A great choice *2013-04-13* What sold me on this app is the fact that it will still function when the phone sound is turned off. This is absolutely essential in a performing environment. It is visually pleasant, and easy to use. It automatically switches octaves as you click around the circle, and its tone options are nice, too. In the future I'd love to have volume control within the app, but the phone's volume buttons certainly work fine for now. Nice job designing this app! ### 5/5 — Well done! *2011-11-22* After looking over all of the available pitch pipe apps and trying several of the free ones, I decided to invest $0.99 on Pitch, Please! Well worth the investment - the pitches are precise, it's great to be able to span 3 octaves, and the piano note in particular is loud enough without sounding for too long a period of time. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on my iPhone 14 pro running iOS 16 *2023-01-26* Anyone who pays money for this app is a fool. Pitch please ran fine when I tried it immediately after buying it, but after I closed it and opened it again, I doesn’t make any sound. Please help! ### 1/5 — Works about 5% of the time. *2022-09-24* No matter what settings I have, volume up, mute switch off/on, DND, whatever - the pitch app rarely plays. It’s the only thing it does and the only reason I bought it and it doesn’t work. No matter the settings, it doesn’t play any sound at all. Hopefully the developers will figure this out and give an update. ### 2/5 — Widget is gone *2023-02-13* Since the redesign the home screen widget options are gone. There is a lock screen widget, but it’s essentially just a shortcut to open the app. I wouldn’t have updated if I had realized this feature was going to be removed. **Developer response:** Hello, thanks for letting me know about this. Thanks! ### 3/5 — Good and helpful tool, but… *2025-11-03* Yes, it’s really helpful, but I wish you could do more with the settings. I’m sure is probably very easy to make changes such as locking the octave you’re working on. It’s kinda annoying for example that even when you’re moving clockwise, if u pick a different note it will jump to a higher octave, which messes up your sense of pitch and melodic motion. ### 3/5 — Extra functions needed *2022-11-18* Works fine for me but a setting to change the duration of the note would be helpful, currently it’s a bit too long. Using this in a singing group. Able to select the pitch easily with haptic feedback (kind of like the old iPod wheels), the octave(s), and even set the hertz (e.g. 432hz instead of the default 440hz). I appreciate being able to select clarinet for the sound playback. It’s super easy. I probably would have bought it just for the name, which is awesome. It’s just like a pitch pipe in that you just rotate the dial or Digital Crown to access pitches...but doesn’t get gross or germy, not does it get out of tune. The interface is clean and intuitive, and I like how I can choose three different octaves. Also, this app still sounds when your phone is in silent mode, which I noticed is not the case with other apps. I wanted a back up in case I ever left my actual pitch pipe at home when I needed it (not a fun surprise). This app is great and it has some nice customization features that other apps don't have. It would be very helpful to have that widget on my iPhone. ### 5/5 — Better than others. *2012-01-14* I like this app because it is set up like an actual pitch pipe. Other free apps I tried had just pitches listed. I like the option of having a clarinet, piano, or tone. The tone option sounds much like a real pitch pipe. Plus you have two options ending the pitch. It can die on its own after a few seconds or you can press the center again and it will mute the pitch. I also like the options for tuning.
