It is just incredible that the site is free and when i discovered i could give a little money for this app version it was an obvious thing to do and a real pleasure. Design, Struktur und jetzt auch noch der Theorieteil, es gibt nichts besseres. Dazu noch gut kuratierte Akkordvarianten statt unbrauchbarer Vorschläge von einem Algorithmus. Ich kann das sagen, weil ich so ziemlich alles ausprobiert habe, was es dazu im App Store gibt. Kompliment! Das Tüpfelchen auf dem I wäre, die aufgerufenen Akkorde (am besten auch eigene aus dem Chord-Finder wie auf der Oolimo Webseite machbar) zu einer eigenen Liste von Akkorddiagrammen zusammenstellen zu können zu einem eigenen Song. ### 5/5 — This app is perfect for songwriters *2024-08-12, version 1.2.03* As a guitar player this is a useful tool for learning. As a songwriter transcribing and trying to do so accurately this is a must have ! I find a lot of chord voicings that fit but I don’t always know the correct name. As a self taught guitarist and musician this app has been the best for someone like me. I do know chord names and shapes. As a writer I find my own chords that are unidenfiable at times. This app not only shows the chord shape and the sound but also the key, root and notes which has really helped me to identify notes and chord placement. Otherwise great app - if i had one gripe or letdown it would be there are no options to explore open tunings!!! Please fix! **Developer response:** Hi, I did not find any problem here. You may have selected an inversion of your chord, where the root is located on a higher string and has no accidentals (# or b). In this case it seems that the [#<->b] button is not working. Always make sure, that the tone you want to change to its enharmonic equivalent, is the root of the chord (squared/green spot). Also The button has no function, if the root has no accidental. If this wasn‘t the problem, please send an email with a screenshot. An update broke the app and I’m back to no sound. The developer has kept in contact with me trying to resolve the issue and has been just great. It works on my ipad pro perfectly. If there is an update with fixed sound I’d say 5 stars. ### 4/5 — I like this app a lot *2026-01-15, version 2.0.1* This does amazing stuff such as analyzing chords, teaching chords theory, etc. The only thing that keeps it from being five stars for me is that when I do the tests, it doesn’t grade them. I am hoping to hear from the developer that I am missing something or it’s something that can be fixed. If it is, I will upgrade my review to five stars. Even with that glitch, I highly recommend this. I ended up recommending it to a couple buddies because the lessons are really really thoughtful- and has built in quizzes when you’re on a car ride and chord progressions out the wazzoo to experiment with and try out new concepts. ### 5/5 — An amazing app *2026-06-17, version 2.2.1* A really detailed and comprehensive app for those wanting to expand their chord knowledge. I plan on doing screen caps of oddball chords and using that to teach guitarists songs, MUCH easier than wasting rehearsal time. You can create videos, but it’s not as reliably accessible (or as 9x12 visible) as a sheet-of-paper per song in a notebook. ### 5/5 — Tried them all, this is the best *2026-02-18, version 2.0.1* I’m probably what you’d call an intermediate player, not a flashy soloist or anything. Most guitar apps seem to be for beginners or people who want to be shredders. For everyone who needs a great reference tool, this is the one. This has been everything that I need. Switching from playing e standard to c standard made things challenging to me, but this app has helped more than every single other one I’ve tried. ### 5/5 — love the app! *2026-02-11, version 2.0.1* I’ve been getting back into music and I’m extremely rusty with theory. This app has helped catapult me back into the world of music without needing to read a bunch of literature. However, there is one bug I would like to report. I did use the email address as well to submit a report. Tabs, social media, gamification, etc. Oolimo is the opposite. It is a Bible of chords and tonal theory that expends all its efforts in giving you every detail of a chord you could ever possibly want.
