## What is Oompf?

Oompf is an AI speaking coach that helps you become more articulate, confident, and clear in real-life moments like interviews, presentations, meetings, public speaking, and everyday conversations.

Practice with Sessions, where you can spin a topic, pick a quick prompt, or create your own speaking scenario and record your answer out loud. Then get feedback on the habits that shape how you sound: structure, conciseness, confidence, energy, filler words, and pace.

You can also train with Role Play scenarios inside Dojo, use Read Out Loud teleprompter practice, pace your delivery with a metronome, and build steadier speaking habits with quick tools like box breathing, article summaries, tongue twisters, and other speaking drills.

Journey gives you guided lessons that build core speaking skills step by step. Leo, your in-app coach, can chat with you in text or voice, help you think through responses, and keep practice feeling personal instead of generic.

Oompf also includes Word of the Day speaking practice and Home Screen widgets so you can keep your streak going and jump into practice faster.

Whether you want to stop rambling, cut filler words, think on your feet, or sound more polished out loud, Oompf gives you a structured way to practice before the real moment.

Found this app on my tiktok fyp when I was struggling with interviewing. I hate practicing but I’ve been using this app for a bit now, went through the foundational lessons and learned how important filler words, pacing, pausing, and structure of my speech is. I’ve never tried a speaking app but the mini games were fun and I really enjoy being able to talk to my ai coach. It’s able to look through my past sessions and scores and understand my weaknesses so when I talk to the coach I’m not a total stranger, super helpful for before interviews and def not struggling as much!

- Buttons say “hold to speak” but are actually toggles. 
- Sessions seem to hang due to server issues. 
- Sometimes the close button on modals doesn’t work. 
- AI practice sessions mix dialog and suggestions into the same speech bubbles

I use another app called Wellspoken, this is basically a copy cat. I was hoping they would do things different but it’s a cheap clone that crashes and got terrible feedback
